In the book, that was how the conversation went. Charlie was drunk and making comments about Nick going to uni and Nick was trying to understand but Charlie was being dodgy and eventually it blew into a full on argument which they both regretted later
@@tanyar18 well yes I know but the show is a watered down version of the book they’re never as aggressive in the show. So I think it’ll be the same for this
If this is condensed into season three, please remember they are still teenagers. Life is not all kissing. relationships have their arguments at times. It would be unrealistic to think Nick and Charlie would never have a row. Of course they would. Every couple has them
i totally agree, but i do want to point out that it wouldn't be in season 3, seeing as this story of their argument is set when nick is about to go off to university. this is from the novel Nick and Charlie, which is two years after heartstopper. maybe season 4?
@@yyourmom Hi, yes I know this is from a different book, but it is interesting to think about will Alice include an argument between Nick and Charlie in season three? TV adaptations do not have to be 100% copy of what is in a book. I wonder if it is time we see Nick and Charlie maybe having a small "tiff" as a phrase goes. So far, Nick and Charlie have never ever raised their voices to each other. Just interesting to ask, do you think it is still too early, even for a third season, to see Nick and Charlie have a small argument. As it would be very realistic. Or do we keep the "rose tinted view" as Kit called it?
Alice said it herself; Nick and Charlie do have a happy ending but they have to go through some stuff to get there. S1 was falling in love; S2 was the honeymoon. S3 will probably be the reality that no relationship is perfect
@@notveryslayofutrue, but this part in Nick and Charlie doesn’t happen until right before Nick goes the uni, and in the heartstopper books Nick is still deciding which uni he wants to go to. so we aren’t quite to this point yet:)
Everybody says they don't want their argument in the series but I just want to say Alice's optimistic theme will tell you it's going to be okay again. I kind of like their argument because it gives us a look into the other side of them because life is messy they aren't going to be innocent and happy teens all of the time.❤❤️❤️
yes you're right, no matter how green flag Nick Nelson is, they will still face this phase in a relationship, and their relation will be deeper and stronger
@@pipiheartstopper Yes. And having these arguments and expressing their emotions early on can actually be healthier and good for them in the long run. I 100% agree with you.
Yes we love that they don’t focus on the bad parts too much but teen love is wild and specially when you are leaving, is good to show teens that not everything is gonna be perfect that nick isn’t principe charming he also cries and has struggles
I know everyon’es saying that they can’t imagine Kit saying that, but I actually can. I hope it’s condensed into season 3 and we get to see them have an argument and then make up after it. Heartstopper is one of my favourite shows, and one of the things that makes it so great is how relatable it is. They’re both teenagers after all, and no relationship is all sunshine and daisies. I think both Kit and Joe will portray this beautifully and I can’t wait.
More than likely not. In the webcomic and in the books the next part follows Charlies ed (when he was at that place to get better). But if we hopefully get a season 4 this could be added
⚠️DISCLAIMER⚠️ To everybody saying “I won’t be able to handle this in season 3” or “season 3 will be about that no relashionship is perfect” NO! If you actually read the books you’d know that 1. This season will follow book 4 and 5 which are about Charlie’s mental health and how nick supports him and about them being intimate with each other for the first time. 2. This scene isn’t from the heartstopper books!!! It’s a scene from the nick and Charlie novel which play out A WHOLE YEAR after season 2!!!! Stop saying false things!❤
This scene only appears in the book Nick and Charlie, but the 3rd season will be filmed in the 4th volume of the heartstopper series, so we probably won't see this scene
Some people are saying it won’t happen because it’s not in the graphic novel. Well Issac, Imogen, Naomi and Felix are not in the graphic novel and I’m not sure on this but I don’t think the bonfire scene is either as well as scenes from the comic being switched around and merged. Ben is also much more involved in the plot than in the comic. The series is not a direct transfer from the graphic novel to the screen, anything could happen. Alice Oseman has a lot of material in the novels that she can mine for the next series if she wants to. TBH with the amount of stress that the characters are under , I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up letting some steam off, I’d rather have that than the series descend into a saccharine LGBT+ Disney fest.
It’s 2 years in the future from season 2, so it most likely won’t happen, at least as written, in season 3. I really hope that they extend for more seasons, or do a few movies. Hopefully we can get the content from the Nick and Charlie novel one way or another.
nick and charlie crushed me on the inside when i was reading it- this was the first book that made me cry (also i loved that they featured the oreo milk bar in season 2- anyone else think they’ll bring that back in season 3??)
Is this in the books!? Cause i swear its not unless its in "nick& Charlie" cause if it is am going to run to my room to read it Edit: I READ IT IVE NEVER CRIED SO MUCH OVER A BOOK 😭😭😭
@@jeleynad9595 if I’m not mistaken this is a nick chapter ( meaning the chapter is all in nicks point of view) I’m not a hundred percent sure though because I haven’t read nick and Charlie in a while. Hope this helps
I usually don’t cry over books, but this had me weeping (both of the times I read Nick and Charlie ) after all these years and chapters of heartstopper you just feel like you’re a part of the relationship and let me tell you this part of the book makes you feel like shit, like you lost the love of your life and I don’t even know how is that even possible so yeah Alice is such a great author
All couples fight, no relationship is perfect, but damn Nick crossed the line here. There was no need for him to be such an ass. Moving away for college is a difficult conversation to have and Charlie is a sensitive, traumatized person. Nick’s attitude here is absolute crap. I don’t care how it started, how they ended up in an argument, there is no excuse for nicks crappy attitude here. If I didn’t know the context of the story, I would have thought Nick was a bully or toxic boyfriend or something, because he came off that way, with the toxic attitude. Nick knows everything Charlie had to deal with, from the extreme bullying to the ED, and the self-harm. Why in the hell would he think it’s ok to say all that crap to Charlie? When he called him “mate” for Charlie it felt like he was basically devaluing their relationship, which is a crappy thing to make him feel. I know this is from a separate book, but if Alice incorporates this into the show, my opinion on Nick will drop massively (I separate the books from the show, as it should be).
Also, since the moment I read this book, I was amazed by how awesomely Alice has her characters down.., I mean there is no other way, literally no other way in whoch the characters would react or behave in this situation and this is the only Nick and Charlie way this could have happened. Any othere thing to happen in this story would have been wrong. This story has led to so much respect in my heart for Alice as a writer❤
Pin please? For anyone wondering: This isn’t in heartstopper, and it will never be. This is in the book called “ Nick and Charlie “ it’s basically what happens afterward of heartstopper. For context; Nick and Charlie agree to go to a party. Charlie gets super drunk and then complains to nick about him going to college. Then that happens, don’t worry they make up. If you want to read it it’s on Spotify, audible, or you can get your own book at Target or Amazon!❤
I don't think we get that on S3, there's still more content to get there, if I'm correct Charlie is 17 there and right now he's 15. And I want more seasons! 😁
I read the book today and it made me cry. So much more intense than any of the Heartstopper chapters - it would be absolutely amazing if this made it into the show…
Nope I refuse nopenopenopenope no!!!!! I cannot deal with any more heart breaks😢💔 You know what? I'm just gonna lie in the corner and cry until the season is released and cry even more WHEN it's released
Thanks Alice for confirming that Nick and Charlie's novel will be on the show. I love this couple but arguments can happen and it's nice to see how they overcome them and get back together more united than before. ❤🩹
They make it up to each other after and Nick regrets the decision anyways Charlie thinks his useless and thinks it was a bad idea to trust him again but does then Tao talks with Charlie about what Nick said in the room
@@parperrr standing in the corridor is Tao, who has probably heard every word. God, this is all his and Elle‘s fault if they hadn’t (f-ing) broken up in the first place, Charlie wouldn’t…he wouldn’t want to… he wouldn’t have thought he’d… “Is he… Are you okay?” Tao stutters “See what you’ve done?” I say, stepping past him. “(F) you.” He cowers back. I want to say something else to him, but I can’t think of anything, my mind’s gone blank, I’m still processing what just happened. What _has_ happened? Everything was fine yesterday. This can’t be the end. This can’t possibly be the end. I barge through the people chatting and smiling and laughing in the living room until I’m out of the house and in the rain, and by the time I reach my car I’m soaked and shivering. I turn the engine on but I just end up sitting in my car for twenty minutes, maybe because I’m too scared to drive when I can still hear thunder in the distance, or maybe because I’m hoping Charlie’s going to run out of the house and open the door and say that everything he’d said was a drunken mistake. But he doesn’t. So I just sit there. (End of chapter) ( MY FINGERS *HURT* )
I can’t😭 I literally cannot. I don’t know if this will be in season three bc that’s for book four, but I rlly hope they make mini movies out of Nick and Charlie and this winter.
I read this book ath the beginning of summer and remember that elle and tao broke up and made charlie worry about being long distance....they better not add this into season 3 😢😢❤
I’m not entirely sure if this one will be in season 3. If I remember correctly, this is from the novella and not the main webcomic. Unless they’ve been including bits from all the stories of them and I haven’t noticed 😳
I'm in the "not in season 3" camp. I think volume four is so dense that there isn't any way to get to this point without trivializing its really important storyline (also we'd have to go from July to the end of the following school year and include everything that happens in volume 5 and that seems like too much time/plot). I think if they do it at all (I wouldn't be surprised if they modified it to make it a bit more Heartstopper comics like), Alice will do it in season 4, assuming we get a season 4, since they have stated that they can do the whole thing in four seasons, and that it will end when Nick leaves for college. I'd prefer five seasons, but right now we don't even know if we'll get a fourth one, so I'll take what I can get. For everyone freaking out about it being out of character for Nick, let's remember that Charlie, much as I love him, provokes this fight by not communicating and then freaking out. I also don't think it will be part of their fight as documented in Solitaire/HS vol 4 since that argument is about food and begins with a thoughtless throwaway comment about how hard Charlie is trying, which makes way more sense in the context of when that fight happens. I know scenes get moved around, but I just don't see this being the fight that creates issues for Charlie during the winter (being deliberately vague here because of spoilers).
I dont think Charlie being mentally ill, and showing the obvious struggles that come with it, would be considered "provoking a fight". I understand being frustrated but if it happened because charlie was afraid to talk to him then the appropriate response would have been for nick to gently and lovingly give Charlie reassurance that he can talk to him about anything, not yell at him, get angry, call him the one thing he didnt want nick to call him, and tell him to fuck off. If that's actually what provoked the fight, Nick's reaction to it was uncalled for.
This is only in the book nick and Charlie right? Which is canonical to the web series, but it’s a very future event. but maybe Alice will rewrite some of this and change it?
I simply cant see nick doing this in the show or the books. I read and wached everything. Hed be gentle and emotional with telling Charlie that he has to leave for university.
Good thing, this argument will not happen during any point in the show. Even the new seasons. Since this scene takes place in the book "Nick and Charlie" by Alice Oseman, it is not being added to heartstopper!
I can’t see this happening. I can see a conversation like this but it would probably be more gentle. Nick is too much a a retirever to act like this to Charlie. Sorry but I can see it❤
I bought the book today (nick and Charlie) I just read that part and omg it's so weird and It's just feels weird cuz of Kit Connor would never say that like omggg 😭😭😭😭
As someone who's just been dumped by an ex who was a fuckboi. I have to say I wish my breakup was as intense and dramatic as this! Instead of the ole ghosting out of nowhere shtick that is so prevalent in this generation... 😂
i really highly doubt theyre going to include anything from Nick & Charlie. it was written before the heartstopper comics, and the characters are so different
