A few years ago I decided to wear every item of clothing in my closet...without repeating or buying if possible. I did not have to repeat full outfits for months. After wearing a piece, I decided if I loved it or if it fit well. This process helped me hone in on my style.

An entire year? Oh boy! I clearly have a problem…I struggled with a no buy January. I really am taking a hard look at my closet and trying to make only necessary, quality sustainable purchases moving forward. Like others have already said, I’m here for the giggles, your personality and the pearls of wisdom you drop on us. I Iove your personal style and you provide inspiration; style and otherwise. You are one of the people who inspired me to stop binge shopping and evaluate what I have. If you don’t buy anything all year, I don’t see how it will impact your content. I would really enjoy seeing your things but for enjoyment,not to ensure you are sticking to the plan. We are grown and we work hard and I like to treat myself to pretty things. I just need not have all the pretty things all of the time.☺️ If you decide to buy something this year I’m sure it will be with good reason and intention and if you share it, it will serve as another way you inspire/set an example, especially for those of us who need a reminder that it is posible to stay the course. You are indeed a "Brave heart" and you have to be confident in yourself and your clothing style to not follow every trend that pops up, so I fully understand why your not shopping in 2024, it's all about when you do buy make it be quality fabrics that are timeless, and that you can add to or mix and match, I love to be good to my feet as they carry everywhere, so they deserve the most comfort and surport, so I love kitten heels and classic ballet flats, I am not for craming my puppies into high heels that look pretty but give my feet hell. I have a Black T shirt for over 15 years or so and guess what, found it at Walmart when Norma Kamali collaboration ( not sure if that's the correct term) I must assume. This T shirt was so well made and still a go to. I paid 5 bucks. I bought a muted red one that I tend not to wear as much but can not get rid of the red one. These shirts fit so perfectly the best ever material.

To answer your question: I don't think anything will change, so long as you still do 'hauls' in the form of showing how you pair pieces in your wardrobe, giving your audience ideas on how to maximize their current wardrobe. It's still 'shopping' because it's new to your audience!

We are very similar, in that my French family educated me about fabrics and style. I have tops that I bought in Paris in 90, and still wearing.Vintage that dates back to the 60s and earlier. The change of focus is very important and it's timely. One thing though: you will need to consciously think about how to cater to a broad range of women on those topics. It's important to show ways to stay contemporary, how to update a look and when to retire a look or just move it to the back of the wardrobe. The foundation of style to the French is of course to do an appraisal of your physique and colours so you know your strong points and weaker points. It makes buying so much more successful. This is a fantastic time for black people, and you own your look and take Paris by storm every time. Just be aware of your fabulous skin and hair it's not what everyone has. Community is the way forward because difficult times are here and probably here to stay. Love your work!!! 💙🤍♥

I would love to do this with you...I have locked in getting a Kate Spade tote but my husband may get it for my V-day gift and then I can stick with it. I have a 29 year old that shares my thrifting love and wants to refine her corporate wardrobe. I love your leather dress! I have noticed that, for the most part, all the "leather" skirts and dresses in stores now are pleather. 😢 ...Unless you are willing to pay an arm and a leg for it. Btw, Jessie, since you worked in the industry, can you tell me how are some companies getting away with marketing accessories as leather online, yet when you receive them, the item is actually plastic/pleather??? The Kate Spade brand is guilty of this. I was wondering if the definition of what can be called "leather" has changed in the industry.

Leather is not the same leather as yesterday. Michael Kors bags make me cringe with their "leather".
