Stock Kbs Tour 120s shafts will usually produce less spin. Avoid the $-taper if you need spin, but fit these with DG 120s, or standard S300, maybe the Modus 120 and your numbers will climb.
I hit these a little over a week ago at a local clubfitter and compared them to my Apex Pro Dots and I ended up ordering them that day. THe numbers with the correct shaft were just better than what I'm playing now. Can't wait to get them.
I game these irons in 7i-3i. They spin plenty on the course from what ive found. Also play the p7mb from pw-8i and they are fantastic. Surprising amount of forgiveness out of the p7mc for me
Just ordered mine w/ project x 6.5 shafts, and 1 degree stronger to be closer to my p790 iron degrees. My spin numbers w/ the 7 iron were between 7000 and 8000 consistently.
Would like to see 3 holes played with two sets of clubs. One you love and the other your not a fan of. Then discuss the difference and you opinion Love your content and banter with your mates. That is what golf should always be.
I would prefer P770 5-PW with P790 3 and 4 iron. I have full set of P790 now. I just don’t see MC selling as they are an in between club. Another good review
I like your club reviews but.. I do miss the old ones where you would show the graphics on ball flight and dispersion, that's basically how I can tell how forgiving the clubs are when you've hit those bad shots. I've noticed a few reviewers now that i watch regularly have not been showing the graphs anymore 😕 Keep up the good work!
Definitely need to get these three sets out on the course, sim only tells you so much. See how they perform in real conditions. Vids I’ve watched show some distinct performance differences between the 770, MC and MB. To be honest, MCs are what I’d likely go with.
I like them. I seems to be the only person I know that doesn’t want strong lofts. If I want to hit a 7-iron the length of a 6-iron, I’ll just hit the 6. I like these cos they’re more “traditionally” lofted and there’s no big loft gaps.
Live the look of these! I would absolutely play these if I could get my numbers dialed in with them. Thankfully I just got a new set of irons (Titleist T100-S) which I am greatly enjoying! That may just be enough to keep me from spending money again! 😀
TM certainly seem to have upped their game with these new Irons! PS James, please don't take this the wrong way (it is meant to be constructive), but you seemed to be rushing your presentation
@@mrdudelove1 I'm not sure that Mizuno would agree with that and listening to Trottie being interviewed on the TXG channel recently even he admitted that they have made big strides to catch up with Mizuno that's why they are now forging these Irons on a 200-tonne forge.
Michael Ashman what makes you think people care about your opinion enough to write that comment Michael? I’ll do what I enjoy and what the majority of my subscribers enjoy. If you don’t like it nobody’s making you watch
I would definitely play these, I had no clue about the previous model either. I just think they look awesome lol , definitely would need to see them in person to gauge the exact size and offeset.
There are so many great irons available these days that it’s hard to pick one out of the pack. I’m curious about how people who sell clubs feel about the year to year turnover.
I prefer the look of the p7mc but think the 770 will be best for my game, I currently have a old 770 7 iron in my bag trying it out and love it, love the better loft, hate these super lofted clubs
I’m undecided between the 770s and P7MC. I play off 15 and have high ball flight and currently hit a 7i 170 yards. Worried 770s be too high ball flight and not stop and P7MC I’m not good enough to use!!? Any advice please??
Might want to look elsewhere then. If you play with custom options on Taylormade's website there are multiple grips that are no upcharge. TGW doesn't even give you the option to select that standard Z-Grip that comes on the irons when ordering them custom.
I’m thinking about MP20 MB/MMC combo set (currently set: 850 Forged). 620 CB was also in the mix. Might explore P7MB/CB combo. Also interested in NewLevel 902 and sub70 639. Need a full fitting and my local shop in under for renovation
I’ve been playing the mmc for 6 months now best irons out there for feel and forgiveness before I got them I had 620 cb that replaced my 716 cb did not like new cb at all went to mmc never looked back
2222skinny: thanks, mate. MMC’s are at the top of my list. MB’s really just for looks/ego. 850 Forged feel is great, but I need new shafts and proper fitting (bought used as-is) so good excuse to get a new set.
TM have really lapped the competition with the new releases, Sim driver/woods, these new irons .. stunning. Do not see anything from the competitors that excites me like this new line.,
I would absolutely love a set of the mb’s but I only got my 760’s Oct last year if I’d known these were coming out I would of waited lol bloody typical that is
I'm in no way in my youth but I don't like the look of the P7MC. I've never seen the RAC irons but looking at these I could tell they were going for some sort of nostalgia vote.
I'm nervous..ordered a split set 770/P7MC..to replace my Srixon 565/765.. Set..how do these7 MCs compare with the 765s??. Espically forgiveness..same? More? Less?..The taylormade aren't being released till Sept 14th..
I probably should have asked before I ordered them, but..I was going to restart the Srixons anyway and with my military discount and trade in it only cost me $200 more to buy these..
Could just be his swing and playing a lower spin ball. I hit them the other day on a track man with a prov1x and was spinning the 7 iron 7000+ and the 4 iron around 4500. For me they spin around 500 rpm more than the 770.
Random question would you ever play a round against Rick shields, Peter finch and Matt fryer think it would be great content playing a 4 ball tournament at 4 courses of each golfers choice as I would rate all 4 of use the best golf RU-vidrs
Why do Taylormade bring out new irons so soon after their last models, do they go further, do they spin more, do they feel better? And it’s not just Taylormade other companies do it as well. We know it’s the strike that will make us all better not always the club but it just seems to myself they bring a new model out every year or so, and being honest James it’s more or less the same the same sales pitch from them. Only my point of view I’m not saying I’m 100% correct it just seems that way. Good stuff James 👍
I'm not really sure your offset issue makes any sense because the offset specs for the P7MC are all lower (except 4 iron and 5 iron, which are .008 and .003 difference) ...humanly not possible to tell that difference. From 6 iron through PW, the P7MC has specs that are all lower offset than the Mizuno MP20.
Very informative! I may be completely wrong but I feel like these clubs can compete with the T200's (among other brands). If you had to pick one up, which one would you choose to game?
These absolutely do not compete with the TS200s - those are hot faced, low lofted, low spinning rocket ships. Better comparison is the Mizuno JPX 921 Tours or the Titleist CB's. I personally think they should have made them with a tungsten plug in the 7,,6,5, and 4 irons and thus made them compete against the TS100(S) or Mizuno MMCs which will be easier to hit in the mid and long irons. Reality is almost no one will buy the blades or MCs and the 770s will get all the sales
Thanks for the video James. Hope the following hasn't affected views too much. URGENT: RU-vid has stopped sending email notifications for any new videos for any channels you are subscribed to! Creators Need To Fight Back!
Not sure James get it sometimes. Dude, they’re not going left because of your perception of “offset,” it’s your swing mate and you’re indoors. Get them outdoors in grass and then let’s hear your review on offset, spin and launch.
James Robinson Golf I listened to the Trottie podcast, and it sounds like they have almost gone to onset on these, and I’ve heard they have 17 sets/clubs built and 16 in play, so I was just curious about the look to your eye, since adoption has been really high from early reports
Aren't the grooves supposed to be on the FRONT of the club head!!! The look of the rear cavity is positively REPULSIVE! 🤮 Thought the RAC was hideous as well. But I *WILL* be using the George Foreman tonight to make a few burgers! 🍔🍔
Callaway Xforged r fantastic. Only hope the new xforged (when/if they release) have a little less offset. If more people tried (and felt the solidity) of the one piece forged they wouldn’t even bother with the “hollow” clubs. Hopefully the hollow n foam injection is a fad. Also, the forgiveness is a myth. Either u hit it close to the center or u don’t.
Less is more. Stop with the very annoying introduction with the same annoying lines that you blab out at the start of each videos. After a while it becomes very off putting.Less videos with higher quality like Rick does. Hence why he gets so many views.
Why would I want to be like someone else? I love what I do and I am who I am. Nobody forces you to come here Michael. The fact you’ve left numerous comments complaining about something which you really don’t need to worry about is a big weird.
Thanks for the video. You have probably gotten this before but you have a major glitch in your takeaway that when looked after will make a big difference in your overall swing. Sorry mate, we’re all professionals. lol
Nelson James you know what Nelson. I’ll stick to what all my coaches any physios say. Not so sure where your spiteful comments come from as all I’ve done is reply with good manners and good feelings. Good luck with your life and I hope you don’t feel so negatively about things in the future.
James Robinson Golf you’re taking this far too seriously. No intent to be spiteful; I have nothing against you. I just noticed something obvious. Don’t worry about it. No need to be sensitive.Anyway, check your first move with your wrist and I’ll never comment again. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, honest.
