NY is all I knew because it is the only place I lived long-term with the exception of Florida where I spent 6 months, and all I did there was work...didn't have a social life then. I know people see NYC as the place to be but NY is great for convenience but even those conveniences can be inconvenient. Let me know how you feel about the Italo pieces. Gloria The spasm in your foot can be from lack of magnesium. Take magnesium daily. You can also eat mustard which contains magnesium. Also amazon has heat booties for your feet they are electric. helps.
Born & raised in Jamaica. Came to London as a teenager & lived there for over 25 years ago. Within the last of those 25 years I couldn’t take it anymore. Bought a 3 bed house in the English countryside with the money from my 1 bed London apartment which I sold. Now I have a dressing *room* , office, dining room, front & back garden growing vegetables, raising animals & I’m threatening to get some chickens round there too! I go on hikes nearby. Most of my neighbours have boats & motor homes. I live in a farming community. There is not one high rise building for miles. Everyone goes to bed by 10, & I’m only going 1.5 hrs from London by train. 👍🏾 City life is not for me.
I've been here my whole life. I'm over NYC. I can only afford to stay here because I'm in a rent controlled apartment., 4 bedroom for $920/month. When I move, I'm leaving NY. My neighborhood is gentrified and they come with their dogs that they don't clean up after. I stay because my youngest is in a great private school. I'll be here another 5 years until she finishes school. I share all of your sentiments about NY.
Hi sis, I understand what you're saying about the homelessness in the U.S. The fact that one person can have 10 homes and there's multiple people without a home, it is such an imbalance in society. Tupac made this apparent to me in the 90's and it still resonates today. Listen...I can't stand when folk do not pick up their dogs poo. I stalk folk who walk their dogs behind my house, and if I catch them leaving poo, I walk out and hand them a bag. 😂 I totally understand your desire to live somewhere cleaner and more peaceful in your elder years. I see so many northern elderly folk moving to an area here called Sun City in Indian Land, SC which is right over the Charlotte, NC border. They move here for the ease of everyday life.
I love NYC but housing is very expensive and getting more expensive by the day. Also the mentally ill roaming around is rough. NYC has a lot cons but a lot pros as well that's why it's so expensive because it's very highly sought after city to live in. It's not easy living here if you aren't rich but tbh I feel like it's the same in the rest of America as well. Just different cons
Housing cost need to be regulated everywhere its crazy the average person can't afford to live you need 2 or 3 jobs just to survive and no one should have to that
