Sitting here with my "Sitting with Dogs" shirt watching you with this beautiful girl and hoping that Patty will come out of her shell!! Hugs sweet girl!!

While I can understand not having warm fuzzies about people who "drop and run", I do appreciate that they still had enough humanity to bring the animal somewhere they thought it would be safe. Think of all those who just dump their animals in the wild or industrial areas to fend for themselves. Those are the folks to be angry with.

There are situations where you can't take care of an animal. My son almost died after a heart operation and as a result he could not come home to his cat....cat litter poised a serious health concern. He gave up his cat to a local shelter and was shamed and harassed as a result (even though it was the responsible thing to do). A couple of years later he was in the position to adopt a shelter dog and it has worked out beautifully. People can't always fix the problem ... but their concern still matters.

I have a soft spot for GSD mixes and often find them to be some of the most beautiful dogs out there. Those big ears, dark muzzle, and mascara! I adopted one this past December and wish I had the room, and hands, to take on more.

Im thankful for Rocky who does everything he can to help these babies. My heart goes out to these an who do nothing but give unconditional love. I don’t understand how people can give their pets up so easily. If you dont think you can give a pet a home for their entire life then dont get one. Its a commitment. A worthy and a fulfilling commitment. Pets are a blessing.

Judgment aside for the way she was cruelly betrayed, she's beautiful and young enough to regain her trust in humans again. My figers are crossed for her happy ever after and i'll keep checking out her updates when they're posted.

I agree, it’s hurt feelings of being dumped like a piece of garbage. First thing I noticed were those stunningly beautiful eyes which were so very sad. She had tears and the joy had been knocked out of her. She came to quite a bit by the friendly safe voice and started to feel that she was a person (okay, yes a dog but it’s how I see it) in her own right and that she does matter. I think she has gentleness in her nature. I’d have called her Cleo after Cleopatra with those stunning eyes. Once she’s all relaxed and groomed and feels she belongs to her forever family she’ll be like Miss World.

It was 100% that woman’s dog. When my husband and I found a stray dog, we took the dog to our local shelters lost and found, and we gave them all of our information our contact number and things like that we didn’t leave.

Sadness and Depression in dogs isn't uncommon.

Every time you go in for a pet my first words are 'aye te te'! You are my te'! Just soft comforting words! I may be wrong in this thought but....that is how I feel! If I'm trying to comfort a dog that last thing I want to do is 'talk' to my phone! I would want to express my total emotion towards that animal. I'm not an animal rescuer...or what this person does....but I am an advocate for total emotion towards an animal without trying to just show what I'm trying to do. I'm not a wordsmith so I don't think think I'm makeing sense...but most of all I want to thank this person CARING for these animals!

She's definitely a Sheba/German Sheppard mix. My fur baby Patty is the spitting image of my girl. My fur baby passed away in 2015 when she was 14 years old. She had a double fur coat and when you became her friend she howled every time she saw you. She was talkative from the beginning and she adopted me from a shelter too. I always think dogs adopt people and not the other way around.

She is a beautiful baby. She needs consistent love and attention. She may, by nature, be a sensitive baby. Babies like her need a lot of reassurance. Sometimes that may be hard in a busy household. Thank goodness she was brought to the shelter. She would not be safe on the street. Thank you Rocky for your love & card of her.

My heart ♥️ cutten hold my tears back anymore 🥺😢 it was so easy to hear, that comes from the handlers heart ♥️🙏🏼 So happy they saved Enzo 🙏🏼 Hopefully the road back to recovery will go smooth and fast 🐶♥️ I don’t know you Officer Emole or Enzo but I have to say, Thank you for your service and hope it can if not totally normal again, then just as close it can be 🙏🏼

What a beautiful girl Patty is! You know, I understand the desire to want to punish people who just dump their dogs in the shelter. But I'm right there with you, Rocky. There are better uses of the (already thin) time and resources that the shelter has and that's love, feeding, care and finding each and every animal that comes through that door a loving forever home. Yes, some extreme cases of animal neglect, abuse and cruelty need to be followed up on, so justice can be served, but more often than not... you've got to pick your battles. And the dog's needs far outweigh tracking down cowards just to admonish them for their poor decisions.

I’m with you on this one Rocky. It was probably her dog or someone she knew. And she peeled out with her car cause she didn’t want to be held responsible like you said.

My guess is Labahoula/mix. We have one, same color as Patty and she is now 9+ years old and was an insane terror as a puppy. Can't tell you how many things she destroyed in the first couple of years of having her. Can't wait to see an update on Patty.

OMGosh, be still my heart! What a precious girl! I definitely see some shepherd in her; the look of her face and the shape of her head and muzzle. GSDs have such soulful eyes, and that's what I see in hers, along with uncertainty, rather than intense sadness. Speaking of GSDs, Rocky, did Macy ever get adopted? I would love an update on her ❤️

I agree that those who drop off animals and even lie😮 about why, should not be penalized. As stressful as it is for the animal I, too fear that these people will feel desperate enough to do something even more desperate and more harmful to these precious sweet pets. I also agree that Rocky is an angel sent to help the other angels abandoned by their owners. Bless him in his work😊

I could watch for hours as the dogs open up to you so tenderly, trusting you and finding trust in humans again. It's such a wonderful act on your part. You can see how genuinely happy she gets every time he pets her, including the very first time! She goes from those sad, forlorn eyes to actual happy eyes and a small smile. She needs love so much.
