This interface looks awesome! Any possibility of adding a de-esser and an expander? I used to use an expander when I was using VST's and voicemeeter and I wish the GoXLR had it.

@@FromTheHollow literally what I’ve been saying. VSTs are really left out when it comes to streamers. I’ve paid thousands for my VSTs and I still have to jump through hoops to use them how id like. Fingers crossed we get a VST friendly system soon

@@Totallyquantumofficial yes!! That would be awesome if we could get an interface that offers dsp but could also act as a vst host! Though after an initial look it seems this one is only missing a de-esser and an expander that I'd use in my vocal chain. For other uses like instruments being able to turn on or off other vst's could be insanely valuable! Not sure what kind of logistics would be involved there though :o. Still looks like a really solid offering as is however, especially looking at the total cost of $200, (at least in the US) the value here is insane. If I didn't already have my full-size GoXLR I'd probably be looking to grab one of these and a PC Panel instead

@Kyle Eroche Oh wow! The De-Esser got added already!? Or was it already there like the expander? :o Would it be possible to Send Input 1 and Input 2 Separately to Outs 1 and 2, so In 1 only to Out 1 and In 2 only to Out 2? My girlfriend and I stream in the same room and are able to send just our Mic signal to each other via the GoXLR and then mix that in with the stream mix and send it to our headphones (rather than get downgraded quality audio through discord with added latency).

Pro Tip: Use the Key Filter setting on Gate or Comp for more accurate operation. Combine the Filter and Expander mode on the Gate for ultra smooth use. Set it to 200-600 Hz for vocal range.

This is looking good! Oh btw, you should be able to get a form of de-essing by using the "TubeCOMP" compressor variant, and setting the Key Filter clockwise. This will make the compressor more sensitive to the high frequency range and clamp harder on high frequencies where sibilance lies. Great review!

I definitely recommend playing with the Tube and FET compressor. They add some good warmth to bright microphones like the RE20.

I've bought this interface, quite like it for the build EQ and DSP. The loopback are quite hard to figure out compare to the ease of a GoXLR or a UBS Wave Link Software. Much room for improvment from pure software experience. Just a simple question @eposVox, do you know if it's possible to force a mono outpout for the mic directly in Presonus Software ? Enable the mono option on OBS quite reduce the sound outpout and i don'tl like having different values on OBS mic lvl meter and other audio software (Audition or Audacity)? Thx !

This is actually really awesome! Being a Producer/Singer/Streamer this makes everything so much easier. BUT. Being a producer I still love the VSTs I’ve paid for so I’d still need to do a lot of work as I probably wouldn’t use much of the DSP. I’d love an interface for streamers and audio lovers that could utilise a DAW environment in real-time with audio routing for OBS. Although for now I just have my Mac through the Line In on the Go XLR to get the experience I want from production

So just making sure - the two different input channels can be selected separately in OBS/other programs, correct? Compared to their Focusrite interfaces where input 1+2 is paired and can't be separated.

You can split the inputs on Focusrite interfaces by using the ASIO drivers. You also need the ASIO plugin for OBS, which as far as I know still is not included by default.

I was always wanting a GoXLR but the price was steep. I ended up with a Wave 3 which I LOVE - except I have come to realize the audio delay is too much to handle. Could this replace a GoXLR setup or Wave 3 setup with the same function? I assume there is no audio delay in these hardware mixers, that the audio delay with the Wave 3 is strictly due to the software routing?

Just from looking at it and what I like is the GOXLR has physical adjustments for all audio where this program u have to go the app and turn them down except for the headphones and main from the main dial

Honestly this little device is really cool and something I'll want to be upgrading to some day if my current interface/channel strips die lol. Also the fact that it has a comp, eq, gate and limiter all built in instead of me having to use my dbx channel strips for those features then going into my interface to connect to my pc is also one less hassle to worry about and a much smaller audio chain :).

I've never bought a goXLR or other stuff like it because they're pretty much an audio interface with some software and a control surface. However this does everything I want, I especially love the double jack output, easy to add it into a mixer-based audio setup and I bet you can control the channels from external surfaces. What you mentioned with using it as your mic processor and outputting it to your big mixer is exactly what I've been looking for ! I currently run my mic to my mixer then back into the gaming pc with an AUX channel to a scarlett 2i2 - which means the mixer needs to be on and if I need to use it elsewhere, I end up using my headset's mic because I CBB with setting up the mic on the 2i2 again x) Didn't know it existed and I'm now considering buying one, thanks for the great video !

Looks like only the local mics can go through the DSP. What's the use of having my audio good if I can't have my guests sounding good. I've found it doesn't do what I need after buying it and have ordered a wave XLR. Hopefully that lets me add effects to my guests audio.

Presonus makes solid products. im digging this. i used to own a old presonus usb interface. They make very good VST's for music production in their Studio One DAW. seems they implemented those here.

Can you monitor you microphone to the level that you can on a GoXLR? You know, with the same volume and clarity? I've also tried an Elgato Wave XLR and that thing sucks. You can barely monitor your own mic and with it not having VST's, it's was really lacking what I already had with the GoXLR. So, I returned the Wave XLR and purchased another Goxlr. My mic sounds so damn good, to me, with the goxlr and I feel like I don't get the same quality and level of experience with the Wave XLR.

Here is what I think of the Revelator io24 after extensive use over 3 months in a daily studio - and vocal coaching environment: It's one of the most innovative products especially the loopback function...BUT it could be truly amazing: My wish list is the following: 1. Better Preamps 2. More ins and outs 3. A Deesser!!! 4. More Fat Channel Plugin Options. (Even if you have to pay for it...) 5. Ability to insert plugins on the Master Channel for a more polished finished sound for streams. (I know there are workarounds, but it would be great do all that within the Revelator environment.) 6. And finally: This all enclosed in a hardware unit....like the Rode Rodecaster Pro....or one of their mixers. Revelator could be amazing...is already a very innovative product.

I don't know why more manufacturers don't go this route. The DBX 286 sells out all the time because people love being able to just get their audio right on the way in rather than mess w/a bunch of plugins. The DSP processing turns an interface in to the equivalent of a hardware channel strip.

the SM7b sounded weak and brittle compared to the RE20 in your final comparison.. my guess is that the presonus (like most other usb interfaces) still needs a mic pre amp to properly drive the SM7b... I purchased an SM7B myself and while i love its sound, i wish i would have got the RE20 instead.

Little late but Massive thanks for this review, Bought it after experiencing buyers remorse over my Avermedia ax310 (and it's electronic hiss that was ruining my voice overs), I picked up a a kindle fire 7 and 8 during black friday to serve as my control pad (via touchportal) and fader control (via Presonus' UC surface app). Couldn't be happier with how it turned out. In regards to the loopbacks, A is obviously my stream mix, B is set up just to output my mic for Discord, and I have C set to output my mic and discord for Shadowplay's 'instant replay' feature so I can hear myself and my friends in clips.

Probably a good alternative could be the Motu M2, which has also DSP and if I'm not mistaken you can add any vst into it

This would be a good alternative, possibly better as the Motu M2 and M4 since they don't have dsp on-board, but you are correct in that you can use vst's with it through a DAW or a VST host. A couple things to note though is it has 3 dB higher self-noise than the Motu M2/4 and it has 15 dB less headroom on the A/D converter compared to the M2/4. That being said I'm still considering selling my M2 for one of these lol. It can almost replace my full-size GoXLR, especially with the addition of a PC Panel. I'd probably be able to get a better sound of it but it's lacking a couple features I love on the GoXLR.

If you have a multiple input setup like 2 PC's then the GO-XLR or normal Mixer is still going to be the better solution. So I suspect your setup works around this issue. Elgato Wave, GO-XLR, Audio Mixers and the other solutions all have some issues when it comes to Multi-Input/Ouput PC Streaming/Recording. If someone was able to produce a complete product it would just dominate. Maybe The EposVoxVoice?????

I was going to buy this then went to amazon and reddit where many people are complaining about a pulsating sound coming from the Headphone out. From what I gather its from lower impedance headphones. I'm guessing you are not hearing it. Have you heard of this issue?

I heard a little bit of pumping with the PreSonus, when you did your comparisons. Otherwise, it sounded pretty good. At a price point of $199, it's a good budget option. But I do think that it's way too easy for people to over process their audio. A little tends to be better than a lot.

Oh wow it has support for macOS and iPadOS! Could you please check if how the input behaves on macOS and Windows? Is it a mono or stereo input? If it is stereo, can you balance the signal from one XLR port to left and right? Also thanks for recommending me the Oktava Mk 012-01, it fits my needs perfectly.

I bought the Revelator io24 after this video, it’s capabilities are amazing. How did you handle powering the device on and off? If I shutdown my computer, the USB port still delivers power to the Revelator. I have phantom power enabled, so my microphone and the Revelator will be on forever? Is there a hidden power switch? Can you turn it off in the control software?

Honestly I just leave it on. Most more expensive mixers and stuff don’t even come with power switches, most audio gear is designed to run forever basically

@@EposVox good to know! I am going to look into the BIOS settings and if that does not work I will tape over the display. This is very confusing to me, my Focusrite Scarlett and my preamp both had power switches and also their own power supply. Previously I had two smart plugs to turn them on and off with my phone/watch. EDIT: You can turn on ErP for S4+S5 and it will turn off.

Personally, knowing what I know now, I would get the SM7B and the RE20 both, along with the Rodecaster Pro. I like the ease of use to be able to have level faders for everything. To be able to add my phone in and have it’s on fader and be able to use my mic on my phone. I love my Rodecaster Pro. But as far as mics go, I like Shures SM7B. But as soon as I can, I want to try the RE20. I have no experience with akg. I do however have experience with just guessing and buying packages that sites claim people often buy together. Never again.

Not sure what he's using, but Mogami Gold is 100% worth it, fully shielded and insulated cable with premium connectors. However, I couldn't find right angle ones shorter than 20', but ProAudioLA makes cables. You can order the same Neglex 2534 quad cable and Neutrik Gold connectors used in the Mogami Gold cables and get a shorter length, can even get different colors for the ring and boot on each / either end

Epos, you should check out the MOTU M2 or M4. This thing is a lot more feature packed for sure (with it's presets and such of course) but when you mentioned speaker outputs, my M2 has them for when I'm not using headphones and it's an even lower price than this.

Just about every audio interface down to the $20 has speaker outputs, just not the new streamer stuff like the Wave and Live Streamer Nexus

@05:16 In recent videos I think that your audio samples sounds already compressed with a codec that creates artifacts. I am listening to them on the Beyers DT 770 and something sounds strange on the high end on your raw vocals. I don't know if this is just RU-vid messing around, but I didn't have that feeling watching other reviewers. Recording with the GPU encoder in OBS creates also some kind of sound artifacts even on higher bitrates. I feel like there was always some kind of problem with bitrates in multitrack audio while using the Nvidia GPU encoder. In the early versions of Shadowplay Sound bitrate was a big issue. It got better, but not entirely fixed. I didn't look much further into this myself, but I am not really a regular content creator. Maybe someone has experienced anything like that? :D

Everything is done in PCM WAV until RU-vid processes it. Not something I can control.

I'm hoping I can get some advice here. My GoXLR Mini is starting to fail with random audio distortion that I can't eliminate, random USB disconnects, and other issues that make me super frustrated to stream. I've been looking at the Presonus Revelator io24 and the Elgato Wave XLR. I use a Shure MV7 microphone and I am looking to get the new hardware mixer from BEACN when it releases. I am also trying to get Source Record to work with my stream so I can record clean segments to edit into RU-vid videos, Shorts, and TicTocs. My main questions are can I create multiple mixes with the Revelator to send to OBS, and use 1 for stream with music and 1 for source record with just game sounds and vocals? Second, of the two devices, which would work better with a hardware USB mixer, if there is a difference? If anyone else is in my boat, which one are you leaning towards?

Hi I have a go xlr mini too with a shure sm7b. My copy have the same audio distorsion in background maybe because my home have some grounding problem on the Electric system. Btw where you able to solve the problems? Have you changed the interface?

This may be a stupid question, but is there any news of an update that would allow use of 3rd party VST? Or the DSP will simply be what it is?

Nah I don’t see them adding it. Would defeat the purpose of having a DSP - you can always just add VSTs in streaming software

Is it possible to route a USB mic (Rode NT USB) trough this one and control the sliders with a Korg Nanocontrol 2? I was looking to buy a GoXLR and replace Voicemeeter but the Prosonus looks like it fits my needs better. If it can't be done natively is there a workaround? Thanks!

You cannot route a USB mic through it, no. If it has headphone out you could technically run that line to one of the inputs but that’s a bad idea

@@EposVox Ah crap, That's what I thought. Any better alternatives to the GoXLR am I stuck with it? haha. Can't really find anything else. I kinda wanted to route the audio from the Headphone jack to the GoXLR mic in but idk if that's a bad idea aswell.

Quick follow up. I bought it. Works perfectly with a two PC setup as well with a 4K60 Pro MK.2 in the other end. It got rid of some of the issues; for example having to downmix my Gaming PC mic into mono etc. Pairing it with my dbx 286s and they're a blast together. Thanks for this life-saver product tip!

@@lagstiftarn Sounds great! How have you set it up with a 2 PC Setup? I want all things like OBS, Discord, Teamspeak and Sound from Gaming PC on my Streaming PC and only my Game and also my Mic for Ingame Chat on my Gaming PC. Can you explain me your connection pattern? I'm unhappy with my actual GoXLR Mini and thinking to buy another audio interface.

@@tosspek3806 Well I use the workaround in the video, but without enabling the Stream Mix. Also sending all sounds to loopback one (i think) which the Elgato CC is "listening on" in windows sound settings. Works perfectly. I control all levels on the gaming PC except alerts that comes directly to the streaming PC. So one downside is that I don't hear alerts, but I tend to like that. One thing that's still an issue is that the separate discord sound is not going over to streaming PC, but that's OK for me atm.

I describe it wrong in my past comment, because I want all the software, my SM7B microphone and the interface on my Streaming PC and only the games on my Gaming PC, is that possible? Eventually with a PreSonus revelator io24 and a dbx 286s together like your situation? Actually I have the GoXLR Mini, which is directly connected via USB to Streaming PC and only GoXLR 3.5mm Line Out goes to Line In on Gaming PC (for ingame chat) and the 3.5mm Line Out on Gaming PC goes to GoXLR Line In (for game sound on Streaming PC). btw your mic sounds great in your streams! :)

@@tosspek3806 np mate! I run everything on gaming PC. So streaming PC just takes all sounds into the Elgato CC. I don't want to bother with sounds etc during stream.
