I absolutely loved playing SMTV on Switch and double dipped to play it on PS5. I was a bit worried about changes but after watching this I feel great about it. I also think the being able to save anywhere will allow my wife to finally play and enjoy the game. It can be barrier for some and I’m glad they decided to change it. Thanks for the great video and clear explanation of the changes.
I got the game when it came out originally for the Switch but I haven't played it yet so I got Vengeance and I'm going to play it as soon as it comes in the mail, I'm actually very hyped for this
Closing in on 25 hours on Steam Deck OLED, 60 FPS--it's great! I came in with expectations of low performance, bad story, boring gameplay, and I'm so happy and surprised I'm enjoying it so much! Good to see your channel is covering it here 👍
@ircha Thanks! I'm enjoying the story and gameplay much more than I thought--going through Canon of Creation. I got caught up in reading comments and negative reviews before actually trying the game for myself i.e. IGN's review calling the original "Persona without the heart" 😅
I really like the fact that the game was also released physically for Xbox One (and Xbox Series X I guess, with smart delivery), I always appreciate when a Japanese game or an anime style game is released physically for Microsoft consoles...and I say it as someone who only has an Xbox 360.
The announcement for Vengeance came out as I was about to make another run through the original. Already 12 hrs into the new Vengeance route and the magic is back.
Started with SMT Nocturne / Lucifer's Call as my first SMT series. I bought it when it's on Steam Sale for the realease of SMT V. Can't wait finish Nocturne and try out V!! I heard that V is their best series
I was struggling at the beginning when it came out in switch but that was just a me issue lol. Can’t wait to play a now better performance version of this game!
Honestly, I dont know what I was expecting. I had somehow built myself up for the worse, but have been completely blown away. Unlike with the switch version, which just made sad with how bad it looked, I have already played life 25 hours on PS5. Cant stop playing. Save anywhere... single-handedly made me love the game 10 times more.
I am playing this right now and I dont want it to end. I wish they would keep releasing expansions or DLC for it. Take my money! There truly is nothing else like it.
Ircha, you are always making me spend money! Great review, friend! I have the original but haven't played it yet. I'm going to have to get this and dive in!
Always keep a healthy supply of spyglasses and various dampeners. Use a spyglass on a boss to see its ultimate attack's element, then use the dampener right after it gathers energy. For example, if a boss has a fire-based ultimate attack, use a fire dampener on the turn where it stores up energy to nullify the upcoming attack.
So excited this released this having played the first back on Switch. Deserves to be elevated among the other platform. Holding off for the Switch 2 to come out and see if gets an upgrade on that
Great review I'm glad I waited and got this version the old switch one would of driven me mad. The quality of life improvements are a great help all turn based jrpgs should have an auto battle feature
I got the steelbook launch edition back in 2021 (three years ago!!) but I never touched it. I traded it in and got this enhanced version and I'll be diving in ASAP. I hear the narrative is a lot better in the Vengeance route, so I'm looking forward to that.
Played the original version on switch for a bit, but the bosses were pretty brutal if you weren't leveled up properly, but I've always wanted to get into this series!
i will get it mainly for the enhanced story. (plus i didnt have a switch so it will be my first time playing it and i am glad i will play it with the enhanced story)
Big question. If you choose her hand. Is it a total different story or just the orginal story with a new branch/story part? I never played smtv. But i dont think i wanna play it twice. Should i choose the advance one ? 😊
I’m getting it for my birthday in September. That nozuchi elephant thing is nasty. I ended up giving up on smt3 when I got to the hell biker. Lost my motivation so I don’t think I’ll be playing this soon but yeah you’re cool being sponsored to play like the hippest game out there.!
Yooo play the game, I gave up on Smt4 & bought 5 last year on sale when I went to buy Bravely Default 2 which kinda didn't do it for me (no summons which no NO! reviewer mentioned) Played Smt 5 & was blown away. No matter what tough boss you come across there is a strategy to win. Mines take advantage of their weakness, add elemental block spells that the enemy will hit me with & debuff enemy (You can double debuff defence & Buff party ) buff my party use the small Dragon with his Big Bang attack massive damage to start off, If you charge it then even more damage. There is also a wind god who has it but for single enemy. Have fun.
I just got Zelda TOTK and Hogwarts Legacy. Im going to be busy for awhile. Ill have to pick this one up later. Thanks for the heads up on this. Ive been waiting for the ps5 release.
Dunno if you've talked about it before, sorry if you have, but have you tried any other games in the series? There's SO MANY good ones. Mainline series is great, Persona series is great, and my other favorites are Digital Devil Saga and Strange Journey
Mostly the old maps are what you'll traverse on, with some small changes here and there, there's also a brand new location you can explore later in the game, but I haven't gotten that far yet 😁
But what you don't mention is: Is the game worth it for players that already have the original game? would you recommend it? or wait for a sale and then get it? also, in your verdict you usually give a number out of 10 how much the game is worth I didn't see that here? Still, a nice video though. Have a great day :)
@@ircha Which one is the least stressful. Lol. I got DQ Builders 2, Yonder and Animal Crossing on your suggestions and I discovered a new genre that I really enjoy.
Like the new upgrades to the game but not happy about having to buy another copy for new bells and whistles they pulled a P5 Royal on us it’s all about the money 💰 sad to say but still gonna play the game!
@@ircha thank you very much always a great review and very willing to help Ircha I just bought a ps5 today and I was undecided so my first ps5 game will be SMTVV I want to enjoy the experience to the fullest.
I don't have a definite fave, BUT, my favorite personalities are with the mean demons like the first green slime you come across in the game. He regularly flips me off and such, so funny.
Honestly, except the better performance/frame rate, it's not that much better for the graphic. I mean, I would even say that I prefer how the sand looks on the Switch version. The sand is more shiny. In the other version they tame it a little.
gotta laugh when port begging (shit box people of course on broke boy pass renting games in 2024..) wanna play games so much yet don't go out of their way to get the platform with those games. yeah.. always sounds like they wanna get to those games so badly.. lol
Did an xbox fall on your foot and hurt you? Seriously let people enjoy gaming where they want and how they want. People who talk like you were the first ones to support $70 AAA quality only to get crap.
@@williamcorey4700 umad lil shit box scrub on your broke boy pass? Not my fault real fans unlike you support their games and buy them day one instead of renting them year 6 like your broke ass. ;) If text is affecting your enjoyment because it's also true then you got mental issues you need to take care of before you hurt innocent people in public doing your typical american activities
