at the end there when you’re talking about how women keep guys around that like them, i had a friend who legit every guy they kept around them liked them, cuz they were just a straight up hot person. so, sometimes, its honestly unavoidable in those situations. but yes i do think its a little weird to keep people around who know they like you ya know? its a really fine line between being really clear about hey we are not going to be a thing and them realizing that and keeping the friendship, or being weird and manipulative and keeping them around for perks like money or attention. my “friend” did the latter and it was honestly so disgusting to watch, dont be a bitch like that lol

It's not a massive crush like I can't think of anything else than him, but I definitely would not mind at all if we were in a relationship because I really like his personality, character and overall energy. However if I ever am to confess to him and he says he's not interested, I would absolutely want to keep him as a friend, because again I really love hanging out with him so it'd be stupid to stop just because I can't get a little more. It'd be like not eating at all at a restaurant because it's a 4 stars instead of a 5 stars, you know ? And conversaly I hope he doesn't have the same mindset as you because I'd be quite sad if he were to cut bridges with me for such a futile reason. Of course in that scenario I would definitely do everything so that it doesn't become awkward between us, I would behave like a friend, not like a leech waiting for him to change his mind, and in the case of someone behaving like *that,* I utterly understand and support the decision to be cold with that person, at least until they get a fck grip and behave like a sensible person. Like for example I literaly have this girl who I've known for barely a few months, and I've been (what I thought to be) reasonably friendly with her at the start, and very quickly she behaved so fcking awkwardly. I think she somehow has a crush on me but I don't even know her that much (and for -perhaps- obvious reasons I'm not into her). So yeah in that one case I couldn't do anything else but behave more coldly towards her cause like it's also HER responsability to behave like a FRIEND if she wants us to keep contact. Tl:dr : Every situation is specific, I think drawing a rule as drastic as the one you said is quite harsh, and I hope people I care about in my personal life do not have the same opinion on this topic.
