Am I the only one cried so hard after the ending?

Suzy, story is a little confusing if you don't investigate. Hope you read this and can understand a little bit better what happens: 1) The scene of the campfire was actually the last campfire they had together. Noctis knew that was the last one before his sacrifice so he wanted to let them know his feelings about them. 2) Ardyn was immortal. He was a King of Lucis way back. He absorbed so many demons while saving the world that he became one. People in Lucis saw he fell into darkness, so he was denied both in the Astral Realm and the Lucis Realm. Feeling betrayed, he promised revenge to Lucis so he did everything we see in the movie and in the game in order to end with the Lucis Realm (Noctis was the last king remaining) and his own life, because Ardyn wanted to vanish as well but not before completing his revenge. With this, Ardyn succeeded because he ended with the Lucis Realm but also Noctis restores the light again ending with him. So they both win and lose at the same time. 3) Luna and Noctis are eternally sleeping in the Beyond at the end. The wedding is a metaphorical way to end their relationship, as they were supposed to get married during the events of the game, but that didn't happen as you know. 4) Survivors are: Iris, Cor, Aranea, Cid, Cidney, and Talcott (the boy). It is implied that Ignis, Prompto and Gladio die during the last fight you see before Noctis goes to the throne. You see them in the Beyond with Luna and Noctis, so they didn't survive that either, as only the death can enter the Beyond.

Final Fantasy 15 is my game of the year

FFXV is different. it's not VII. It's not X. But i say it's One of the best i ever played & if you really think the Story or Ending is bad think again. We all knew what would've happend in the end. This Game, is a Masterpiece. Not every Story can have a happy end.

Apparently how it goes is the people protect the King, and the King protects his people. People died protecting Noctis, so in return he fulfilled his destiny by sacrificing his life to save the world. That's what I got from it.

The Final Boss was supposed to be more than that. He had a demon transformation removed from the game. So much has been removed from the game, especially content related to Luna and Insomnia. Ruined World was supposed to be able to be explored too. Still liked the game, but damn it could of been better at the end.

They all died. Noct had to kill himself to defeat Ardyn's Astral Form (Astral Body) otherwise he'd be reborn again (and again)

To be honest, an ending doesn't have to be a "happy" ending in order for it to be considered a "good" ending. In my opinion it was one of the best endings I've seen in a game and also one of the most emotional. The reason why I thought it was perfect was because it ended off in a strong and emotional way. Yes Noctis dying at the end might've sucked but it made sense that way and it felt complete. Having Noctis saying his last few words to his friends, Noctis connecting with his father, and him banishing the darkness for good. In conclusion, it might've not been the happiest ending, but it ended in a very strong way.

It's quite sad as Ardyn actually got what he wanted - to end the blood line of lucis.

Probably the darkest ending to a Final Fantasy and one of, if not the best. Honestly hated the story until the ending tied it all in.

I personally think that when Noctis said "You guys...are the best" it's a message from SE, saying that the fans are the best for sticking with the series for it's duration.

the ending thing is that ardyn was the darkness and he would eventually return like he has done before (him saying how long has he waited of this) and that for notics to fully banish the darkness and thus the deamons of the world he had to sacriface the entire line of kings along with him

imo the Ardyn boss fight was cool and epic but very disappointing in difficulty, also what's the hate about Ardyn, he was a fantastic villain though I thought they could've pulled him off better but they still did good

i just realized the red sky thing that was in the trailers never happened along with most of the other stuff

when noctis grew facial hair he gave me a Keanu Reaves vibe the way he looks in Jon Wick

Thought it was a great game. There were some things they could've done a lot better but I still cared more for the characters in this than I do in most other games. All in all, FFXV is probably my top FF game and Ardyn is one of the more interesting villains. I think some of the ending is actually fairly open to interpretation too. Was kinda hoping for a happy upbeat ending though XD.

It's personally one of my favorite endings in a video game, but I understand that if you don't understand it you just won't appreciate it. Thankfully, SE is going to put out a plot patch sometime in the future that fixes holes In the plot, backstory, etc. I'm just hoping that they cover as much as they can because I really want to give this game a 10 but as it stands for now I give it a 9.

im not sure if u knew this but ardyn was suppose to be the true king, he was actually a hero of his time, he help ppl from darkness but over time the darkness consumed him and stripped of his title a king and thats when Nocts family took over as kingsmen, while Ardyan was thrown in darkness abyss. So can you really consider him the villain? but i really have respect for him thou, plus hes the only villain in the FF games that actually achieved what he set out to do, removing the Nocts family line from the thrown

I believe the issue was that the entire FFXV story was broken into different medium (i.e. Kingsglaive and Brotherhood). I can understand why the story would be hard to follow. It would have been a lot easier if Square Enix would have put everything into the game from the start. Overall, I thought that the game was really good and that ending...man that that was crazy! You just knew that King Regis didn't want to deliver the final blow to his own son. Couldn't help but get emotional after that! Best Final Fantasy I've placed since VII!

He sacrificed himself to save the world, and to permanently defeat Ardyn, the campfire scene is a theory of them being in the after life, or them before they begin the final fight, Noctis is officially dead..... Ignis, Prompto, and Gladio are determined be dead or actually survive through that daemon massacre...... It's a good ending once you fully understand it, FFXV is one of the best games to hit the industry.

So basically Ardyn is the first King of Light, he absorbed all the darkness and saved the people. And if he had ascended/died all of the Daemon would have been wiped out, but the crystal said nah man your to tainted then turned immortal because of circumstances after that someone of his bloodline framed him as the devil etc. Thousand of years later, Ardyn wishes to completely wipe out the Luci's bloodline, the six, the crystal and finally die on which he ultimately accomplished. Now my problem is that all of this didn't need to happen if the crystal let Ardyn ascend in the first place lol.

The game left a lot of stuff out or really not explained well. Basically Noctis was chosen as the Chosen King, in which he was destined to banish Ardyn. Regis knows about this which is shown in the Omen trailer and also explains why Regis is sad when he was holding kid Noctis in one of the older trailers. What happened to Noctis wasn't necessarily what happened to Nyx (dude from the movie), it was Noctis' duty to end Ardyn for good. Ardyn was still in the afterlife realm unable to ascend because of what they said in the game about him being tainted with daemons or whatever. So basically Noctis had to kill himself so he can be in the afterlife with Ardyn to finish him off for good with the help of the old Kings. As for Ardyn's motives, I find him very interesting. He basically resented the gods because he is cursed with immortality and unable to ascend due to him trying to help man kind by absorbing the daemons in him, but was deemed too tainted. Not only that but the crystal rejected him as a king because of this as well. So the dude has a serious grudge on the line of Lucis and the crystal. It wasn't explained in the game but Ardyn basically set everything up for him to be the winner in the end, no matter if Noctis killed him or not. In the end, Ardyn was the real winner because he can finally find peace, but if Ardyn had killed Noctis, then he would have succeeded in getting revenge on the crystal because the line of Lucis would end with Noctis and there would be no-one to banish the darkness. It was a win-win situation for Ardyn from how I see it. What I don't understand is the whole Chosen King situation and why it seemed like the daemons end with Ardyn because weren't the deamons and the star scourge around during his time as well? How did he become the embodiment of the plague is what confuses me, or maybe the star scourge is still around and that Noctis just brought back light into the world? There are a lot of loopholes in this story, but still a great game nonetheless and my personal GOTY.

Noct is lucky Ardyn gave a fair fight. He could have just used his powers that locks Noct's weapons just like Chapter 13 and killed him off right on the spot.

Yeah go play some fairy tale games where everyone lives Happily Ever After.... FFXV was a good game, yeah they all died but it was a good sacrifice for the good of mankind.

So, for those who need explaining. After the fight with Ardyn, Noctis needed to go into the afterlife to get permanently rid of him. He called upon the previous kings and they attacked him so he can carry their power into the afterlife. Now at this moment, there is speculation that Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis die, which is why you see them next to Noctis in the afterlife, meaning the rest after this part is all either in his mind or apart of the afterlife. But also, the campfire scene could be Noctis's real last words to the 3 who are still alive. Back to the original point, Noctis uses his friends and family to eliminate any trace of Ardyn, which kills him in the process. DLC will have main story characters (ex: Ignis, Prompto, etc) available to actually play. So this could be them 3 on a mission or their back stories. Hope this helped!

Loved this game, it's my GOTY and now my third best in the series. Nothing beats either FFVII or FFIX though, but it beats FFVI for me which was my third best before I experienced this game!

A sacrifice was needed to end the the Daemons from spawning, Noctis was teh Sacrifice

the build up of the music climaxing at 22:00 when noctis shatters...followed by stand by me playing as you get the nostalgia from the car push at the beggining of the game...followed by all your photos. sorry but if that doesnt make you cry...:(

The picture choice was hard. In the end, I was stuck between the one with all together (including Iris, Cid etc) and the first group-foto, taken by Cindy at Hammerhead, with the three of them posing before the Regalia. The choice ended on the latter. That Ardyn battle......power of light vs power of dark. Their colors almost resembled a jedi vs sith fight; blue vs red lightsaber, :D Some/many of us did perhaps get confused of the ending. Like Bahamuth said, the king will receive the powers at the throne, but at cost of his life. And Luna was stabbed/killed. -But both is shown alive, well, and married at the end. Yet....there was lots of notes found around, and info shed by your team, in the game, and I didn't really understood what all of it meant. So maybe those who took time to read it all, got the info needed to understand what really happened.

This was the story of Noct and his friends but the true victim was Ardyn, he was once a man with pure heart and soul, but he was betrayed his pain and revenge was understandable, he lost everything and he wanted to take revenge on the Lucis Caelum bloodyline and on the Six by destroying the bloodline and the crystal with the ring and finaly he wanted to die. After all he "won" and could rest in peace.

Versus XIII had a lot of dark concepts. Children killing other children due to voices in their heads, men becoming demons from voices in their heads, etc.

Sure they many disapear becouse regular bodies disaper or are they just a push of Noctis in to the path of kill Ardin? the question is Ardin"Savior of Lucis" want to kill Noctis or Rest?(becouse there are faster ways to end the line of lucis)

Its not that the wielder of the ring will die, its that using the rings power drains ur life force

The last campfire scene really broke me even after watching it many times. The game disappointed me on my first playthrough tbh. It really felt rushed and unfinished but nevertheless, the DLCs and updates really do the game justice. I hope SE learned their lesson for future FF games.

@Suzy Lu You keep talking about "Ring killing the bearer at sun rise like in the movie Kingsglaive with Nyx. But you couldn't be more wrong. Sure ring does leech at the bearer's life but it does not kill him if he is chosen by the ring and is of Lucii bloodline like Noctis. Nyx was a bystander, a kingsglaive member and kings who reside inside of Ring of Lucii allowed Nyx to borrow their powers for 24h (or till sun rise) and then killed him. On the other hand Noctis was chosen by them to bear their power as a CXIV King of Lucii or 114th king or The True King however you call him he is the chosen one. The only reason why Noctis died was because he CHOSE to sacrifice himself and all the 113 kings before him together with The Ring Of Lucii to destroy Ardyn Lucis Caelum and the Daemons. If not he could have lived his life like nothing mattered without dying by the ring unlike Nyx. Just saying.

the campfire scene after the credit is the scene just b4 the final boss, the last camp fire. Noct tell everyone that he will die if he face ardyin, thats y all of them are so emotional cuz the fight that they are going to will be the last time they fight together. Also Noctis is dead at the very end scene with luna, that scene takes place in the afterlife

Noctis was 20 years old at the beginning of the game. He's not going to sounds much different at 30

Going back to this from the DLC of ignis she played today. If only Suzy knew the overall story about this ending i'm sure she would cry like I did.

In order do ascend, Noctis had to die (as all kings of Luciis did before, including his father). He had to ascend to go to the beyond because Ardyn was not only in the material world, he was there too in the "after life" so Noctis had to carry all kings with him, and in doing so he was killed in this world. The image of his friends in his side for me meant that he was not alone because he carried too their strength, and of Luna taking Ardyn's hand in meant to make us go back to Altissia where she held Ardyn's had and cast a spell on him. And, to end, the final scene of Noctis and Luna must be them afterlife living happily (finally haha).

maybe its because you stopped playing the game for an amount of time that you forgot certain events in the game. Bahamut explained everything regarding Ardyn and pretty much told you that you need to die to defeat ardyn and save the world(and stop the scourge of the stars and the eternal night time). AnywayI hope the future updates pretty much brings more development and insight to the other supporting characters and eventually make this an even better FF game.

In 34:54 her loading screen is bright in what looks like the sky mine is dark and you can see the moon I also finished the game but mine did not do that is it a option or something my game did get corrupted but as far as I know it only affected my pictures turning black and not being able to see them so does anyone have any answers

I'll be happy to clarify some things.1) In order to truly defeat Ardyn, Noctis needed the power of his ancestors and the light from the crystal. He used his ring to fill it with the crystal's light. It took him 10 years to do to have enough power (which is why Noctis was away for that long and was older). He was able to defeat Ardyn physically but he would only be resurrected again due to his immortality. Noctis needed to die to truly banish Ardyn in the afterlife, which is why all his ancestors, included his dad, stabbed him. In the afterlife, he used the ring, filled with the crystal light, and with the help of his ancestors, banished Ardyn for good. When Noctis did that, he truly died and his story ended there. 2) The campfire scene is the scene right before they all head to Insomnia to face Ardyn. Noctis felt overwhelmed in the scene and wanted to express how much his friends meant to him. They all knew Noctis was going to die. But going through this was the only way to restore Light into the world and truly defeat Ardyn.3) Whether or not Noctis friends died is up to interpretation. There is no clear proof they lived or died. I personally believe they lived and them showing up with Noctis in the afterlife is more symbolic, that Noctis was not alone. Its just up to you with the way you see it.4) Noctis and Luna had their own wedding in the afterlife. They couldn't have it in their lifetime so they made the best of things. I hope this helps.

So does anyone think that the Kings weapons' attack is eerily similar to Knights of the Round from FFVII? Personally, that's my favorite summoning, next to Bahamut.

It's only been 10 years but I can see why the voice would get deeper some people do some people stay the same with voice, the only difference is from say a 10 year old to a 20 year old is deeper voice lol but think Noctis was in early 20's or late teens as Prince Noctis? actually how old was he. oh there is one way to deepen a voice over time as you age, depending on the amount of alcohol and smoke they do will deepen the voice greatly, maybe Noctis should of smoked and drank whiskey to deepen his voice for you lol

18:59 that was the FFX "yuna speech moment" (the flashback of moments with your friends). powerful stuff although it would have been more powerful had they flashbacked everyone like cid cindy iris etc. also this proves who really died since its only the bros and luna in the flashback

the campfire was after the final battle when noctis is in the afterlife cause if u notice he's not wearing the ring. anyway in that scene he finally opens up and shares his feelings to the group something he couldn't do when he was alive.

I'm so happy I got to finish this game on the PS4 pro with the sunrise. Thank god now I can finish off the rest of the hunts 🎆

Now that you've beat the game you can use the Dog at resting points to go back in time and get the flying car....just be careful of the landings.....you can wreck very very easy

I think my initial reaction upon seeing this ending was "what did I just play? We waited 10 years for this?" It's not that it's bad, I was just expecting so much more. I was expecting a balls to the walls crazy adventure, with grit and drama and twists and turns, where I would become engrossed with the characters and world and story. Instead all I got was an average JRPG. A bastardization of the game we were shown for the last decade.

Every Final Fantasy keep Drowning you in deep feelings that hit really hard... it's an amazing Journey everytime and mostly with Tears. Not Regret play any FF at all.

I dunno Suzy, Noct's voice seemed pretty manly fro the whole game, and I wouldn't want to tell Ray Chase to deepen more. That's how he was in episode Duscae, and I could barely tell the difference between Noct and Gladio half the time. Noct was batman.

The ending was already forming when Bahamut told Noctis about about how as a king he needs to sacrifice himself to bring peace to the world. The other kings had to sacrifice a lot as well. This ending was great, even though it's not a happy ending like most stories, it's different. On top of that, this story was leading to noctis sacrifice.

I also believe tht when Luna and Noctis were shown at the end those were their dead spirits at what seems a funeral cermeony/ wedding ceremony for symbolism

For the best effect you should've choose photo of Aranea, Iris or Cidney when they are lol. So Noct will show it to his wife.

That was the point of FFXV since it started. It was a journey to maintain the king and keep him alive for his final battle. It sucks everyone died and tbh Ardyn won in a way but we finally got a different kind of FF and I fucking cried.

Plot-twist: Cocobo runs along and uses mega-Phoenix and it's a happy ending. Also I think we all know the real power of the King of Lucis is having the stomach capacity to down all those potions and elixers. Just imagine if Arden got that power. "I'm dying... wait was is that in my hand? A Phoenix down? Guess who used the imperial treasury to buy 99 of these. GG"

Long story short - Noctis was set up to be sacrificed. His father knew that Noctis would have to die to bring back the light, Luna foresaw it and did what she could to help him on that journey (including sacrificing herself) she didn't intend to actually fall for him along the way. Once Noctis realised his role he took some time coming to terms with it, but he eventually did, and with his death light returned to the world.

The best and sadest ending ever! The sad thing that few people didn't catch is that also Gladio, Prompto and Ignis died! When Noct died the guys lost their weapons (since were connected to Noctis power) that is why they were with Noctis in the beyond :( but in the Ultimania that is out in Japan, Tabata said that the last cutscene leave a lot of interrogatives because the player can think whatever he/she wants! They live happily ever after in the beyond or the Kings of Lucis gave to all of them a second chance and everybody get back to life! Anyway I really loved this game

I saw the '' why FF 15 disappointed me '' Video seriously if you only run through the Story like an Idiot and dont do sidequests then of course this Game sucks looool there is easy 50 Hours of extra Content/ SIdequests/huge extra Bosses secret Quests etc

Ok. I know this game has its time, but you get confussed. First… the last campfire they had, esa before entering insomnia, they all die… Noctis and the others, later in the game, you see that Noctis restore the world, and after that… the wedding, in the afterlife, they married each other

I was shocked to find out how over leveled I was for the final boss. I got over it once I found bosses who are maxed leveled or higher.

Noctis and Luna at the end, that was their final fantasy 😭 I'd love to think they get that in the afterlife

The first 1 round of that final boss fight is frustrating especially when i ran low on potions. The air combat is by far my favorite part of that final boss fight. I beat the game at Lv49 too thanks to the Phoenix Down that helped restored my health in the final round of that fight. You beat the game faster than me. I hate it when a main character of a video game and in a movie dies especially when a main character becomes the sacrificial lamb. I had a blast playing that game. I wish they added the auto lock-on feature.

I'm not really following the story after Noctis meet Shiva, so, how Lunafreya can be alive after stabbed by Ardyn? Even Ignis and everyone said Luna has died. By the way, the ending so beautiful... glad you waited until credits end...

the fact u use a gfreat sword as a main weapon hurts my ocd, so slow, you could make the ultima weapon at chapter 3 and that does more damage than the greatsword you use here and has more dps it hurts my eyes

I have to put this at one of my favorite FF entries. Seriously, this whole story even with the spotty plot points and stuff, this is amazing. Ardyn was absolutely amazing as a character and a villain. I mean he is only the way he is because he sacrificed himself and became exiled for it. But the sacrifice of the King is so beautiful. The final blow of Father to Son.....It is so stunning.

I'll be honest--I stopped playing this game after the first time you fight the big Titan guy who's holding up the rock because I just did not understand what was going on as a first time Final Fantasy player. Maybe there was something I missed but I just didn't understand where the story had suddenly gone. I felt like that fight was supposed to give me some emotion but I was too busy saying 'who are you??? WHAT are you??? what's going on???' Though watching this video the ending (though still confusing) is absolutely beautiful.
