@@BigTpowerwashing I've had a Quad Lock with the damper for a long time, and two flagship phones have survived thousands of miles on a KTM big twin at high revs.
Hi Jess. Yes, I traded my 2020 Roadglide Special for the new 2024 streetglide in Whiskey Fire and Chrome. I call her “Fireball”. I had a hard time deciding on RG or SG but in the end, at 5’8” I prefer the closeness of the SG fairing and really like the new batwing fairing design with the integrated LEDs. I only have about 800 miles on her so far but zero regrets. This bike feels so light and fun to ride. This is my 9th bike in the last 23 years and my 3rd Streetglide. Just buy the new bike and come to the Virginia mountains and ride with us!
We have to talk about your Worn-Out Boot as you put it. These boots show the love of riding and that connection with your beast. They are broke in and comfy and with just the right amount of cheese and this is why your ride loves you. New boots will usually result in hot stinky feet, blisters, kicking the beast a bit too hard, leaving her a tad miffed with mom. So, you really do need to sit with beasty baby and let her know you plan to but new boots.
Saddle soap to clean them deep, then about 1/2 hour with black Kiwi, a little water to keep the application rag, and buffing rag moist, which keeps the Kiwi from pulling off the boot and onto the rag. While the scuffs will still be there, the boots will be black again, and nicely waxed for water-resistance. A quick Google on how to wax and shine boots will bring up thousands of "how to" primers. Or, ask an old Soldier or Marine how to spit shine your LPC's (they will explain what is an LPC) If you zipper is not broken, but only stiff to zip/unzip, rub a birthday candle into the teeth. The candle wax will lubricate the zipper, and allow the teeth to mesh again, while chipping off the teeny tiny burrs that have collected over the years.
Yo Jess, obviously you graduated with Honors from the Shadetree Surgeon Finer Arts of Exploration on (Her) Two Wheels. You are never lost if you know what state you are in. You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda Fury. Keep the Shiny Side Up.
Thank you for the video. It’s great to hear the views from someone snow birding. We always talk about it but are concerned about the same things you are talking about. I would miss my garage and tools and she would miss all her goodies. Enjoy what remains of your trip. Ride safe.
The Clearwater area is nice. We go down there a couple of times a year. I have the same issues Jordan does, mine is mainly L4,L5, and S1. I am a couple years always from a spinal fusion. The neurologist I go to said riding my RGS is better for my back than driving my truck. Hope you guys are doing well. Hope Jordan gets some relief.
The older you get, you start having more Back Problems. Get a Inversion Table and start using it once or twice a week. You will fill taller because your Joints will become uncompressed and you will have no more back problems. I’ve been using one for 30 years. I used to throw my back out 3to4 times a year until I got one. Try it you’ll like it,no you will love it🥰
How to break in new stiff boots...put on old pair of socks, put on ur boots and stand in a tub of warm water as hot as u can tolerate for a few minutes. Then wear the boots until they dry out or a whole day. The boots are still due to being dried out for storage and preventing mold/melded between manufacture and actual usage
So I just purchased. Will pick up on Monday. I got the White Onyx. Not named yet. Thinking "Ghost", "Alabaster " or "White Lightning ". Can't wait to put some miles on her.
I bought the 2024 RG in Whiskey Fire. Her name is Trixxie. I am in love with it. Only 400 miles now, but I'm in WI so I take what I can get! 150 miles yesterday and got her out in the rain and had to do the first washing. Awesome awesome bike. It was a very terrible financial decision as I had just bought a bike last year, but whatever gonna ride the wheels off this one!
Hey... I use Danner Boots, not that you need new ones now. Discovered them while I was in the Army and they work great for motorcycling as well, great grip. If FL drivers scare you, don't ride in MD.... WOW!!!!!!
Jess I got the 2023 CVO Street Glide and I love it! Go trade in your RG and go with the NEW RG. I'm always ready to experience new bikes. Not that I did not enjoy any of my old bikes, but i also enjoy trying out new stuff for the experience of it all.
I bought the 2024 Road Glide in Sharkskin Blue, partially based on watching your (and others) test rides. I've always been a Street Glide person but I've switched to the dark side! Thanks for your review of the 2024.
When I was attending MMI in Orlando, my wife and I enjoyed riding to Daytona and hopping on A1A and we would ride from there to St. Augustine . It was always nice to stop of in Flagler at Hightides for beer and crab fritters. That was always an Awesome ride.
Next time you snowbird you might want to look at the Brooksville and north of Crystal River areas. That way you have Florida horse/hill (small hills) country and the Florida nature coast.
Got the white onyx pearl Street Glide with chrome trim. Was planning on the black trim but the chrome stood out, especially in the sun. I was talked into a test ride and that’s all she wrote. It’s garaged now. Waiting for the snow to melt. 😢
You should be happy you have sunny weather to ride in. We have more than a foot and a half of snow over the last 2 days. And Jordan did pronounce Saskatchewan properly once. Ride Safe down there.
Well I'm going to finish the paper work on a 2024 Road Glide this week. A deal was reached we just have to do the paper work lol. As far as color I'm getting the Blue Burst in the black trim. Can wait to crush some miles and record some rides.
We liked Port St. Lucie across to fort myers and south. Naples the Everglades. Less traffic! But winter months are so much worse for “non-driving “ people. I loved ridding in Late October in Florida.
I can't help but to agree 100% about the southern driving abilities, or lack of ability. I have lived on the gulf coast of MS for 10 years now and still have not gotten adjusted to how bad it is down here. I grew up around the Chicago area and thought I had seen it all while there, but down here said "hold my beer".
Not sure if you are going to still be in Florida by then but Tavares hosts the country's largest Antique Boat Show in the country now. March 22-24th 2024. Great place to ride to and a gorgeous show as well. Aggressive drivers down here? Don't trust them? Just remember most folks are not from here any more! There are some really gorgeous areas of Florida that are still extremely low key. Hardly any traffic on the roads and nice roads. Keep searching and you may find them. My wife and I are in process of moving to an area that as far as traffic goes we sometimes drive for 2-3 minutes without passing a car! Took a long time for this 5th generation Florida boy to find it.
It is hard and expensive to camp with a camper and being away from everything you have worked for is the worst part. The best part is to explore and have the experience to choose your next adventure knowing more about the planning process and the economic impact it will have on your life.
A lot of people come to Florida over winter months. Traffic really increases. Of course the tide changes in summer when we Florida residents pour north 😂 Looks like Ohio is a nice state to ride. Will have to check it out!
When my parents retired, they went with my aunt to Florida to look at winter living arrangements. After 3 days my dad sat up in bed that night and looked at my mother and said “I ain’t gonna be no damned snowbird!!” And that was that. They went back to New York.
I looked at both, the ST and the standard RG. In Canada, the list prices difference was $19,000. I bought theVivid black RG standard (Christened ETTA) but took a chunk of the difference to put some ST parts on the regular: Bars, Stage 2 with the tuner, KW mufflers, Adversary accessories, soon to be installed Ohlins front and rear suspension. I kept the seat as I liked it better. I will now have a hybrid RG that has better suspension, almost as much power and a more subtle look with thousands left in my pocket. Really looking forward to this season...🙂
I've got a 25ft toyhauler and have spent up to 2 months out on the road with the bike recently. Utah and Hill Country Texas. It's tiny house living basically. You can only take a small portion of what you have at home so it's an adjustment. And as you said its double cost with home base and on the road costs. It's nice you can go where you have friends so that's a plus. I'm at the stage in life where most of my riding friends have stopped 2 wheeling so it's solo travel as the wife doesn't do bikes or RV's anymore. Anyway, try to enjoy it. Be safe out there.
I moved to Florida in 1992 on the West coast North of Tampa. Yes I have to say the traffic has quadrupled since then. There ae some nice back roads to ride up in Hernando, Homosassa and Sumter counties. What I have found is that most of the slowest drivers in the Left hand passing lanes come from the Mid West. Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and of Couse Canada. I don't know how it is where you live in Ohio but it seems like nobody from up there knows SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT!!!!!! I do enjoy your videos and hope you and your Husband enjoy the rest of your stay here. PS I always hit the like button. good luck on getting the new phone.
Great content . I couldn’t agree with you guys more about riding in Florida. I lived in Florida for 4 years thinking it was going to be great riding with the warmer weather. But coming from NJ I found it exactly the same way you guys did. All the roads felt like commuting roads . Riding just felt like commuting or bar hopping in general. I’m back in NJ now and ride all year with my heated gear on beautiful back roads I generally have to myself most days
I traded in my 2022 Low Rider ST for a 2024 Road Glide in Blue Burst with the black trim; after today’s ride of 380 miles from CT through MA into VT and back I have absolutely 0 regrets.
The snow birds are in peak presence right now in Florida. So all roads have 30% more people/ traffic. And they act empowered because they have lots o money and don’t care about anything! I’m not sure if the Gulf coast side of Florida is better but probably anything is better than Orlando.
Got the white Onyx and her name is Era. Had a RKS and also rode a 2021 RG and the difference is BIG! So happy with my choice. Hubby got a Whiskey fire RG too. Worth it!
I thought your comments about the crazy drivers in Florida was funny. This morning, i was watching another video with a gentleman there in Florida that his wife worked for an insurance company and was telling about the statistics of car/motorcycle accidents. It was crazy !!!! I've road there myself many times and hate to go there because of the drivers. I live in South Carolina, and the drivers here are bad enough!!! Good luck and be careful.
I moved to florida from nyc 1 year ago,and even though they have careless drivers here,it is not as bad as nyc , i rode in ormond beach area a few times also ocala forest area and more and it wasnt so bad , just keep your head on a swivel and expect the unexpected.
lol did you say Lois & Clark? The Superman show? When I was having back pain after a long ride, I got a full length Posture Corrector back brace for like $30 on amazon. Helped me. RVing can be expensive or cheap. Florida is the far end of that scale. Almost any other state is cheaper. Learning to make it cheap an fun takes time. Even then, most people should just rent first. Its not a lifestyle everyone will like. An you need to do it to know. But Florida is a lot of your problems. I know thats where your friends are, but there are a lot of better options in the southern states. North Ga has great mountain riding. Most of the southern coastal states have have better weather an less people than Florida. Parts of Alabama feels like you have the road to yourself. Years ago I vacationed in Florida with my bike. Even back then, in the panhandle, I only rode my bike before 8AM. Roads were to crazy. Even if prices were cheaper, I couldn't do Florida winters.
I just brought the blue burst with black trim RG home and I love it. Took it for its first nice day ride today as it was snowing when I brought it home a few days ago. Came from an 18 RG and not looking back
@@HerTwoWheels thank you. And just an idea IF you do decide to trade AppA, you should do something based upon Greek mythology and call it Athena…just my opinion lol
That is so awesome You basically falling in love with that bike You really got me thinking about trading my 22 RG special... Hope you have a great ride
Spent 10 days in fort Lauderdale in January and the drivers are terrible. Was talking to a guy in a wheelchair at Shooters that told me he was riding his bike when a driver hit him and took off forever changing his life. Sad.
I found a 2023.5 CVO in the dark platinum. Her name is Foxie and the new redesign is 🔥🔥. Loved my 2020 StreetGlide Special but this new bike is on another level. I understand you not wanting to give that 24 up!!
Kidney belts are a must when I raced 6 hr enduros. I’d be miserable if I accidentally forgot it. Jordan should get a backrest for his Harley. You don’t have to actually lean against it the whole time just enough that the back gets signals that there’s something there and it relaxes your muscles. At least that’s what I was told. lol.
That flashing dash would drive me nuts. I still have old analog bikes. A 75 Shovelhead, a 1986 Sportster, and my fathers 1939 80" Flathead. I wouldn't know how to work on a new motorcycle.
As an Indian Chieftain rider, I test rode a 24 Road Glide and absolutely enjoyed it. I am satisfied with my Betty Chieftain and that price will not allow me to change up at this time. It is a wonderful bike though.
That’s a crazy busy area you’re in, plus the average age of folks there is around 80!! You need to come further south😜! Only problem in Florida is you have to ride like nobody has seen you…. Last, your boots look great. Be safe 👍🏻❣️❣️
When you go camping/snowbirding at the number one winter destination in the world, you got to expect it to be expensive and crowded. All the FL cities are getting crowded. I've been birding over 20 years, did the first years in a camper, you need to get away from the cities. There are some small campgrounds pretty reasonable south along HWY 1. State parks aren't bad but need reservations way ahead. I bought a house here 12 years ago in an area that was mostly ranches and orange groves. They are turning into housing developments rapidly. I avoid the Orlando area like the plague. Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami aren't far behind.
Jess, sorry I am going to miss ya again this year at your meet & greet....We had to leave on Sunday again...bummer...However, I am going to try sometime in the future...Would really just love to meet ya..Think your videos are aweswome.
Nice video. Yeah, Florida roads are not much fun to ride compared to here in NY. I took my son's sport bike out for the day in Florida, (just to get "ride a sport bike" off my bucket list) and I found myself getting a little bored.. LOL ride safe you two.
We prefer to be called natives…CANCELLED!😂🤣Jk. It was really cute listening to you and Jordan’s banter on your ride. Florida drivers are terrible. NC drivers are just as bad and that’s where aI live, but I did spend a few days in Tallahassee and dang near had a heart attack every time I had to drive somewhere. It is so pretty down there though; I’d give anything to live somewhere that has palm trees again ❤🌴
Sorry to hear the snow birding isn't really what you expected and it's quite expensive especially after C'vid. But I hope you guys still enjoy it non the less I hope! Excited to see Jordan video modding the Sportster again. And Jess finding possibly her new favorite shoes. 😆 Sad times about your phone, lol.
And I get grief from some about running a headlight modulator down here. But I dont have a lot of jokers pulling out in front of me. J&P is cool, supermarket for bikers. I go by everyday I go to work.
I bought this bike in white pearl. I absolutely love it. I traded my 2020 lowrider s. I thought I was going to be sad to get rid of that bike but I'm not. I love this bike so much. Still trying to think of a name her. Lol
You have now put on many miles on this bike with a trunk storage and no complaints about the handling in the wind. This was not the case when you installed the trunk on Apa. I personally think it was that semi with the high softs that gave you a weird wind sheer turbulance as you rode beside and past that semi.
You pronounced "Saskatchewan" almost perfectly your husband did not. And our drivers are about as bad as Florida's, by the look of that beautiful ride. I'm envious: if I did have a broken arm, I've have spent most of yesterday shovelling the snow that we were gifted with on Saturday. And tonight I'd be shovelling again.😒
I live in upstate New York and no a handful of people that have moved to Florida and came back. It was the typical thing where they said is a great place to visit but they didn't want to live there.
Would I upgrade to a Roadglide, Streetglide or any other Harley? Nope, they'll have to prise my Dyna from my cold dead hands! That bike does all I need and the biggest plus to me is I can wrench on it myself!
Hope it went well at J&P and you got to meet/say hi to the mgr John while you’re there. Been a long time since he and I reached out to you. BTW, you need new gloves too… the thumb looks thin.
Don't dog on Florida drivers too much the people who were born and raised in Florida can drive pretty decent we get a lot of transplants from states where they didn't really have to ever drive and had never driven before they make the roads A bit chaotic but some of those are only here for seasonal I live on the West Coast of Florida about an hour north of Tampa Spring Hill Florida way too many people to New York you used to not be that way
