Vanguard mains when they realize that Assault actually has the best movement tech: 😮 Just don't be suicidal with the melee slam and set yourself up for success
@@koiunhscx126 only against chaos maps. It’s pretty strong versus tyranid maps but not until you are maxed and the weapons are maxed. It’s rough leveling assault
@@MacTave141 yeah what’s not to get it not good early but is good once’s leveled. Once you get the perk that recharges your ult with ult kills and armor regen on gunstrike and a fencing weapon and it becomes quite good. I mean sniper isn’t very good either early on but when it’s leveled it’s great.
@@Mr_Big_Head no shit man, every class is good when maxed. Unlike the Assault, though, most classes are also good well before they're maxed. >Vanguard does the exact same thing as Assault but can pack a primary weapon, and has far better perks >Bulwark is nigh unkillable and essential to team survival when brought, even at level 1 >Heavy and Tactical can both easily carry the game with their DPS from level 1 with the right weapons >Sniper can two-shot-to-execute almost any enemy in the game from level 1 There's literally nothing special or even good about PVE Assault, it's dogshit in every regard, and if you're good with an assault you're still better off just picking another class that you can actually impact the game with
Most people are drones. They want to push, even when they could flip spawns or even dying. The slower and more back you play, the better your chances. Don't push a 2v1 if you don't think you can kill both. Leave if you kill 1 and can't get the 2nd.
PvE is harder until you level it up, I love doing PVP as Assault though. But they just gotta improve the jet pack a bit in the operations and it should even out.
for the people who do like the ooga booga hit you with big hammer play style: Get a battle buddy and have them go assault and play together at all times. doing a ground pound strike in combination with your team mate is enough to kill most classes almost instantly
i've noticed this too, that certain assault players that know how to play can absolutely dominate. biggest mistake you can make as an assault player is only using your jump pack to do ground slams. using it just as a mobility tool can make you very hard to deal with as long as you don't over commit.
I haven't seen people say it's weak in PVP, a lot of people said it's weak in PVE because you can only jump about 1/3rd of what you can in PVP and your skill tree is terrible. I used to main Assault in PVE and when I started levelling, I reckon I ignored the first ~11 or so levels worth of perks because they all just sucked. Any good perks you do get, the Vanguard has a superior version (ie. 15 kills to restore armor is 10 for Vanguard,) the Grapnel Launcher does everything the Jump Pack does without the massive cooldown, and the Van gets a primary weapon which can include the Melta which is OP, so you're better off spending your one of only 3 class picks on the Vanguard instead of the Assault.
I replayed some SM1 PVP to hype myself for this, and I was sad to find the entire Perk system had been removed between games for PVP mode. Where is my True Grit bolter in one hand? =(
Nerfing the jet pack in PvE is such a BS dev vs player move or it's lame map design. Make the maps in consideration of the assault class. Let the assault blast up wherever he wants.
This video shows that hammer is the secondary and pistol the primary weapon. You used it effectively, however I find this playstyle boring. Its also sad to see that melee weapons are secondary weapons even on bullwark and assault.
PvE comments aside, while the class is alright in PvP, the way it plays is shit, mainly because of how limited use the jetpack is, and how high the damage of ranged weapons is. So you just end up being a Pistol Marine than an Assault one. Imo they should majorly nerf damage across the board and significantly lower skills cooldowns so that the PvP becomes more dynamic. Nerfing damage will fix most issues both for melee and ranged classes. Parrying and heavy melee attacks might actually get used. Ranged classes will no longer get 1 shot if an Assault/Melee character gets the jump on them, and Melee classes would be less scared to get in and actually user their melee skills.
I tried heavy bolt pistol and didnt like it (was only one game) but watching this makes me want to give it another try. I also love assault, still think it could use 3 armor though and a slight increase in hammer swing speed.
i agree with most of what you said, but i think your playstyle is better on to 50 kills rather than capture as it is very passive. multiple times you were standing there for a good 10s or more getting no value.
