Thanks for the tour! I’m actually considering moving there. Seems like a nice town.

Yes, Harrisburg considers this their town center now.

With cost gas going up, having a walkable neighborhood is a great idea. There will be many new shops coming to the town center especially since there is Harrisburg Village being built. We have a great waking path. There is an Aldi, nail salon, hair salon, dentist, doctor office, optometrist, a cute cafe/coffee shop and couple restaurants, all in the town center as well as the YMCA and a Burn fitness center.

I was born in Charlotte in 1971 and my family moved to the 'outskirts' of Concord where Highway 49 and Old Charlotte Rd intersect in 1980. I went to Harrisburg Elementary school for 2nd-6th grades; hate that it was torn down as it was your typical brick schoolhouse and could have easily been converted into municipality offices and whatnot. To the left of the hardware store at the beginning of the video was where the volunteer fire dept used to be...I can remember being able to hear the siren test every Saturday at noon all the way at my house, even though we were 4-5 miles away. Harrisburg had a population of around 1500 when we moved out that way in 1980; there's almost 20,000 now. I moved back to Harrisburg in summer 2019...a LOT has changed and it is definitely NOTHING like the one stoplight town it was in 1980.

I agree. I was born in Charlotte as well and remember flying my ultralight under the power lines along WT Harris Blvd when it was first graded and cleared. Things have changed for sure. Thanks for sharing. I think people born in Charlotte are a rare breed these days. 😀

@@TimothyFrench I was born on the south side near Myers Park; my sister graduated from Myers Park, my brother and I graduated from Central Cabarrus. I just discovered your channel about a week ago and subscribed after watching your video on Elkin; I'm thinking about making a trip up there in a couple weeks and spend a couple nights to check it out for myself as I've been on the lookout to find a small town to possibly settle in for good. Would be great to have the chance to discuss with you what it's like to travel around in the RV as I've also gotten an interest to do this as well. Thanks for all the videos you've made and will make in the near future!

@@KG-xt4oq Elkin has a lot to do. I think you will enjoy your time there. As far as RV travel, everyone has their own spin on it. I like Ole REV because I can park it just about anywhere. My wife and I also like to stop at cool little places along the way to our final destinations, something we could not do with our travel trailer. So REV fits the bill perfectly for us. I have camped in tents, pop-ups, travel trailers, and class C RVs, and they each have their pros and cons. I did not like the pop-up when it was raining upon arrival or departure. The travel trailer takes longer to set up. And the Class C hangovers are prone to leak over time. At least mine was. Gas was a big issue for me as well. My Class C got 7 back in the day. The truck pulling our trailer got 7 to 10mpg And Rev gets 14 to 15mpg The Class A motorhomes get around 6 to 12mpg, I believe. And maintenance costs can be on the high side. Ultimately, what is suitable for one person may not fit another. So take your time while looking and go to a few big RV shows to get a feel for each.

@@TimothyFrench It looks like it does, now all I need to do is find a job and a place to live there...lol. Thanks for the replies and have fun on your quest to hit all the town centers...
