I rarely leave comments on this platform, but I just wanted to say that out of all the indie hackers and solopreneurs I've been following, your authenticity and personality truly stand out. Marc, thanks for all your work that keeps me motivating on my journey!
@@naolfekadu6101 He does make most of is money from the "selling the shovel" but i would be happy making 1 to 4k a month like he is with is smaller non-selling the shovel things, for my country thats like top 0.1%. Btw Luck only finds you if u are getting after it.
Marc, honest question - how are you always so happy? sure perhaps it's easier now that you are successful business-wise, but even in the photos that you shared a while back from the tiny room that you used to rent - your smile has been ever present!
can safely answer for him: content creation. i'm a small creator on another media and even with like 500 subs knowing there are people who watch you and are interested by your life and stuff everyday is an incredible feeling, that + freelancing.
I can't filter out the genetics part. My dad seems to be mostly happy too. The biggest impact was sleep. If I don't get my 8 hours, I'm a different person. And the rest is probably a mix of getting to choose how I spend every hour of my day + a superkind wife. I hope it's a bit contagious!
Duuuuude these vlog format videos are so good and insightful. Motivates me to work harder and go surfing every day, even when I feel stressed/busy/tired.
My company just went under and I am starting this journey myself. This is the first channel I found about solo entrepreneurship that really resonated with me. You are an incredible source of inspiration for me today and hopefully for a long time to come. Keep doing what you are doing and THANK YOU!
Weary Viewer: Remember you are watching a curated look into someone else's life and most of what you see is factual/inflated for views. You are doing well, do not judge yourself by this youtube video.
This is really inspiring Marc. I just graduated from my Masters degree is CS and am not sure if i want to dedicate myself to big tech and some random company. You have freedom which is more important than any dollar amount. I'll be back here in a year to update you on my journey.
Hi Marc. I have always been curious about the SaaS world and your videos inspired me to take actions and now I am learning React almost everyday and I am having a lot of fun doing so! I also make videos on RU-vid and your initiatives also made me re-think my content and shift to something that represents "me" a little better. I really appreciate your videos. Keep rocking :) Best wishes from New Zealand.
I am a med student who studies in europe but I love coding and your channel motivates me more and more to code often. My goal is to continue studying but also being able to code anything I want whenever I want and it is just a skill I would love to have!
Channels like this is why I got into programming, the corporate world of software devs, sucks the fun out of programming when it was never programming that was the issue but the bs that comes with corporate, such a breath of fresh air
I really like it when you show what you struggle with, that authenticity is really nice to see for those who are inspired by you. I wish you all the best, good luck brother!
I just wanted to leave this comment, you are my inspiration for me to grind on my path on becoming the solopreneurs. Thanks for being the motivation for me!
Great sharing Marc! I very like your video, it's inspiring and very valuable. Looking forward to see more about Insighto behind the scene! Et bonjour depuis la France 😉
Hi Marc, I've been following you on X for couple of months, but just now I found out about your youtube channel (after listening to your podcast with Noah Kagan). I must say you are really inspirational and motivating for me to start something for myself. You seem like a really down to earth, humble and like a really nice guy! I'm currently in sort of a golden cage - in a solid job with a great salary but I'm missing freedom and excitement for work. My plan is to start on something of my own in next couple of weeks/days and, alongside with Noah, you are big motivator for that. Good luck with everything you do!
Hey Marc, awesome vlog, you are a very genuine guy and you inspired me to quit my job and work on my own product. Btw I am in Bali too, I would really like to buy you lunch someday
You rock. And you're a great motivation for solopreneurs developers (yes, there's life beyond 9-5 job!). I'll follow you, because you're great + because i need to follow you!!!
Hey man, here's another good comment for you to read haha. You have really inspired me to try building my own products. I too was fired from my last job and have struggled finding new work and from imposter syndrome. I really love your energy as well. Thank you so much for sharing your journey I can't wait to follow along for more. (Ps. you mentioned you outsourced different tasks here and there, I would be interested to hear what you felt comfortable delegating. I'm like you in that I don't really want to employ anyone) Anyways, thanks again. Cheers!
Hey mate! Congrats on the amazing and inspiring journey! For the newer subscribers, can you provide a bit of info on your background? How you learnt to code, how long you have been coding, what programs you would recommend a beginner learn to be a solopreneur etc.? Would be great for the noobs like me trying to kick things off!
Congrats! You’re a prime example of hard work and glad that you’re being awarded. I think you are at a point to hire at least one person so that you can focus on things you enjoy. Maybe customer support or some mundane tasks.
I just found your content and I love it!. I really related with the last point in your video, I am having similar problems where my mind just doesn't stop thinking about my startup at night, I really wish sometimes I could just hit a switch off. If you got any tips for this a video about this topic would maybe be cool. You are at the point where I'm striving to be just building products and learning along way, thanks for the extra motivation!
Hi Marc, I watched your video recently. You give me an idea in my shi*ty life and now after watched your video. I try to build my first sass after struggle as a self learner in programming. Wish me luck. Btw I'm from Indonesia, have a nice life in Bali (I live in java island). thank you so much.
THANK YOU FOR THE TRANSPARENCY! Following your footsteps with Xona AI and i hope i will get there soon! You looked up to levelsio, etc. I look up to you :)
Wow, you're in my country, have fun in Bali with friendly Indonesian people. I am also a software engineer for more than 10 years and am very inspired by you
Is this your first video in HDR quality? Its so rare that it was first time I saw how RU-vid shows such videos on Mac book... Everyting else is dim and video glows on to you... You also have those interesting yellow lamps, and it was evening when I stated watching and was confused... It felt so real as if I am in the room with you :D Did you change camera you use to film? You used iPhone before but you did not upload videos in HDR before right?
First I’d like to say congratulations on your journey so far! You say you’re a rookie, but you’re definitely better than most entrepreneurs out there. Second, I’d like to do what you do, but I’m not as skilled in sales. I know you like to work solo, but would you be interested to talk about me building the website and you selling? I’ve graduated from the equivalent of MIT from Brazil (ITA was actually founded by MIT in 1950), which means I’m a good developer, but bad at understanding people’s needs. In any case, I wish you the best.
Amazing video as always Marc. I would like to hear how you deal with client support across all your different SaaS businesses! And how much of your time / money outsourced, do you spend?
i was waiting for you to upload! your videos and newsletter are super motivating and useful. I also saw that you were coding a project called 'codefast' is that shipfast or are you building another project? because i also saw that you were looking to teach people how to code
