The "You're 40 years old moderating rust servers" isn't exactly the best comeback from someone who'd spend hundreds of dollars on Steam Accounts just to cheat and get banned straight after.

Yeah, honestly every game needs to start doing the 'they deal no damage' thing, and in any game with loot like Rust or EfT make it so they can't take stuff out of containers or loot players. Maybe mute them too, but keep them there so they are screaming and crying and shitting their diapers wondering whats going on, it's more time wasted with them not being back on another account. Hell even Pestily said once that they should just put all the cheaters together in Tarkov on their own special server and just force flag their accounts, IPs, HWIDs whatever to only ever play on those servers cheating against each other lmao.
The amazing part to me is how all of these games say “we’re doing something about it” repeatedly and they aren’t… at all… and it takes real people with game knowledge to sus it out and watch these cheating morons to improve the game for everyone else. Still, some games refuse to have admins who actively follow gameplay. They outsource to some crap anticheat so they can wipe their hands clean of it. I love these survival games, or even extraction shooters, but have found repeatedly that it’s people who ruin things. The games aren’t boring, the content is there, it’s just the few that ruin it for all.
The "Legally binding" agreement is what i dont get with Facepunch's games. One minute they are banned, the next they can access the game and continue to play still.
In my opinion it is a computer code programming issue. Most of the processing is done client-side on the Players computer so it is easy to hack. I think a change is coming, you don't even need to "own" a video game you just need a video game browser that displays the video game running on the server - this will stop a lot of the client-side hacks.

I can't help but smile every time I hear one of these cheaters fake laughs. I get personally sad just thinking about how much they must have had to practice to even act like there's anything in their life they enjoy.
God I miss being "Hacker Police" for servers. That was back when there was a program that would unban you at the click of a button. So I'd go around server hopping and repeatedly kill hackers with hacks to waste their time and eventually make them leave so the players could play. This was of course back in the pirated servers where practically 7/10 players were hacking. Good stuff Camomo, wish I had a pc and the opportunity to assist you in the hacker hunting. Might I suggest a plugin that stops cheaters dead in their tracks? Such as spawning a rock they get stuck in at their feet. I'd love to watch them try and jump out of it or be stared at by passerbyers while they whinge about the game being broken or some crap. Love the content man
What's sad is as long as these clowns stay off of Facepunch Official Servers, FP isn't going to do a damn thing. There are just too many mods and plug-ins available for the game now and regularly used on Community or Modded servers. It's Admins like you that are trying to make servers like WarBandits good servers to play on ... minus the toxic behavior of course. Your work is appreciated, even if FP does not.

Ahhh cool. I had wondered for a while now... nice to see you can tell the difference between stolen Steam accounts and the bulk-produced ones made just for reselling, with their fake playtime hours and community rating (always rank 5, lol) and stuff. It's nice to see that there's a visible difference of some sort. Might be able to report those to Steam and have them locked down to protect whatever skins etc. haven't already been sold off, as well as the actual user's account, so they don't wind up getting it back banned from 20 games...
he only knows its a stolen account because he knows for other reasons the person on it is gamebanned on previous accounts recently, if you do things correctly he's got no clue, but most cheaters are idiots and leave traces
Eh... I like to think the admins have access to more data than the basically exposed stuff anyone can use, like plugging a name/staemID into BM... The reason I find this comforting is that I have had my Steam account stolen in the past, and during the 2 days it took to recover, they had wiped out my entire inventory (didn't get any of that back) of skins etc, used my Steam Wallet + a few bucks off some of my skins to buy... then get banned from Call of Duty (I forget which one), lol. Valve un-banned me, to remove it from my record, and refunded the money to my wallet under the condition that I could never buy that game through Steam... I was more than happy. 0 hours playtime in COD is fine by me LOL. They also changed my SteamID, and I use a new name/password. The only clue remaining is that a huge portion of my trophies across dozens and dozens of games now show the same date/time of achievement, haha. I just like the comfort that, should this ever happen again, or to anyone else, it wouldn't automatically mean they could never play again, once they're able to prove it wasn't them cheating, but rather a compromised account, assuming of course that they have a squeaky clean record of never cheating before then or after.

For those whos wondering how camomo can tell if an account is stolen. 1. He can check what ip's that connected to the account before 2. The account's language and the users location does not match
Cheaters in Rust is a terribly scary phenomenon... Played on Warbandits and I have to admit, there is a huge chunk of them roaming and blatantly prefiring u 24-7... Btw i think you should do what other discord servers doing, and add "shame list" of all banned players. This way, legit players who reported them on discord will see the results, that this is actually working...
fun fact i have a friend who is a rust admin, its super easy to tell who is a cheater and who is on a stolen account, they have a tool that actually allows them to see things we cant see or do without it being a cyber crime.
I think one thing you should do is if you find two cheaters in different teams, tell one of them that you found them cheating and that they can avoid a ban if they can make the other cheater rage quit.. but here's the catch, you're not going to help, and when one of the cheaters ragequit you just ban both of them. and if the cheater wins the challenge.. ban him anyway xD
When the cheater is farming, you should slowly syphon their resources just slow enough for them not to notice, but enough to make them take forever to farm nothing.
