I have to say, the homeless camps were meant to be a silly idea, but it actually ended up looking really detailed and realistic (especially the big one underneath the highway and railway).
Hey Kibitz, you can use the park entrances to charge people to enter the "homeless park(s)". May need to divide some of the park areas, but you can make money from the homeless!
@@DSiren no, not to fortify elections, too obvious! How about, to _properly decorate_ the ballot box. (Tip o' th' hat 🎩 to the late Boston Mayor James Michael Curley)
@@Sheepy19801 Truth. The US Navy literally pulled out of the Bay Area post cold war because politicians prevented them from docking a nuclear powered aircraft carrier in SF. The move was meant to be a middle finger to the economy supporting the shipyards (Mare Island & Hunter's Point), but they really only ruined Vallejo for 2 decades.
California is too rich, rich economy attracts people The whole state needs to be taxed heavily to encourage emigration to other states and reduce homelessness present in the state.
@@krasnamerah1926 The whole state already is heavily taxed. Problem is both the California Democrat and California Republican parties are corrupt crooks that funnel that tax money back to themselves. Would be nice to see that tax money actually go to work for something. Also increasing taxes won't get rid of homeless. It will in fact do the opposite. They are already exempt from income tax, and probably don't have any income anyways. So all you're doing is making it a nicer place for them to live. I suppose a properly managed homeless social program from increased tax funds could help, but as it is now the California Democrat and California Republican parties are taking that money for themselves. Also a lot of these homeless are too stubborn/"proud" to accept aid from the currently available programs. There's also a large population of mentally ill homeless in San Francisco still left over from Reagan cutting federal funding to the mental hospitals, effectively shutting them down.
@@nikdog419, those homeless are exempt from taxes? Bloody hell.... But they would call those neoliberal policies communist anyway so there's no hope for them.
LA is simply too rich to keep up on the housing demands, lol. If only there's a way to drive up the taxes to drive them away and encourage them to immigrate to other states. California needs to decelerated throughoutly.
@@aleronupstill9816 ya if only the YNC saw things in a way that some how HELPS people but apperintly the politicens are os up thir arses in power most dont thing, hay how cheap would it cost to do this? as a place for the homeless to make a living even if its just a palce they can securly get mail is all ya need
i said it once and i will say it again, He is literally just making LA. all he needs now is some serial killer coincidentally nicknamed the Night Stalker and severe draughts and boom you have LA.
When you showed the bridges on bridges I said, "Yeah that looks like Portland Oregon, USA" THEN you showed the homeless camps and yeah, that's Portland.
Kibz. A suggestion. From the best people at what you are doing. Glasgow City Council (who do what you are doing in-game in real life). You have two slums and in time they will revolt against you for their terrible conditions. Divide the two slums - Slumtopia West and East Slumtopia (of course they can't match) And give them each a football team. And watch them hate each other for centuries.
Odd that you said you wanted noise but opted for Trams... one of the quietest and most well-liked forms of public transport worldwide :| There are far louder options. Buses are louder for sure. Trains definitely. Blimps, planes, helos etc.
Hey, I just recently discovered your channel and I love your content. Your builds are funny and entertaining, because they are so absurdly over the top, but at the same time, you seem extremly experienced and your builds seem to work after perfectly. Everything looks to finished and efficient. I have a different style of building, however your videos inspire me and teach me things I didn't know about CS. A big thanks for this great, educational, funny and relaxing content!
@@alohatigers1199 I'm just noticing the contrast between how much kibz is doing to mitigate traffic and add infrastructure to his slums where his super-rich and commercial sectors get a road and maybe a form of public transport.
Can't wait for him to hit 200-300k pop and the unity engine agent limit, where the game basically just stops working properly due to cars, ambulances, fire trucks, deliveries etc simply not being able to spawn anymore. Can't wait for the disappointment xD xD
Oh lovely, I thought you're gonna discontinue cities skyline for a while because of update 5. so I wanted to watch the streams and when I open youtube to check where should I start, this video pops up, nice
Funny you just built the town of Feyzin and Venissieux in the suburbs of Lyon. Basically hellholes with industry connected by a cute little crime heavy tram
This is basically a better version of southeast Louisiana. He has Bourbon Street, factories being the main available jobs, and canals everywhere and everything
"Don't worry I'll fix this in a second" - me... sitting here thinking... fix what... 3 minutes or staring to a paused screen.... ooopoh it's not a dead straight road.... mmmkay... xD
hey kibitz you can get overground metro like ground metro and elevated metro too in vanilla try it and you can place a park in front of slumtopia and set it at 20 dollars so they will pay to enter
