I loooooove the notes at the end!! For me that's the most important part! Alot of videos just talk about creating the cardigan but you're the only one taking about the REALITY of creating this. I really appreciate this thank you so so much!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

Another great podcast! I love your editing… Miles of smiles through the whole video. Thanks for taking the time to show us your process. I have the same knitting machine and enjoy it for tubes, scarves, hats, etc….🥱 Your yarn choice was perfect! Love the colorful tweedy look. 🤩

I need to find a similar tweed yarn, its so cute ! and thank you for showing this type of process ⭐ this could definitely be a good way for someone with hand and wrists problems to keep knitting without too much pain !

Your sweater looks great. It’s your project and however you decide to put it together as long as you like it, is all that matters. I personally think it looks really great, especially for your first garment from it.

The waste yarn problem is easily solved by knitting one string between your work and your waste yarn so you can pull it out when your done.

I really enjoyed this video and your explanation process. It was really informative and interesting! I have lots of hand pain from knitting and spinning. This seems like it could be a good thing to get for something to do while I'm resting.

The flatbed knitting machine is the next level from these circular knitting machines. The sock machine with accessories can set you back $600-$900. A brand new flat bed knitting machine can cost up to:. $1,350++ (metal bed-standard, mid-guage or bulky with ribber), or a LK150 mid-guage from $450-$599+ (plastic bed). A Brother KH 260 bulky knitter used, in good shape, can cost $600-800. These machines are an investment and if taken care of properly will last many years.

Omg, the sound of you jumping on the wet sweater in the towel sounded exactly like the Pixar lamp jumping 😂 I watched this for fun and in hopes that it was a flat bed machine. You are so entertaining!! I love hand knitting, but also have a massive vintage (flatbed) knitting machine in our basement. Every time I tried it back in 2020 I completely failed and still have not figured out how to get it working, but maybe one day 😅

Loving your breakdown after the project. Very helpful. Especially the bit about sizing bc I really was like “but how do you make something bigger if the machine is one size?” Lol. And now I’m like duh! I’m trying not to want one for myself but I’m very attracted to the speed of projects. Butttt I also hate seaming so who knows what will happen 😅🤷🏾‍♀️. Love your cardigan though!

I didn't know these machines were only available in recent months. A video popped up on you tube about it. I love gadgets and decided to buy one. The one I bought on Amazon is purple. It is the same as Sentro. I'm in process of making sweater. I do rip out if a mistake is done. I feel it's a learning process so what if I rip out. I remember when I learned to knit and crochet there was a lot of ripping out stitches. I've learned to use measuring tape. Overall I am enjoying my machine. Patience is needed when working with something new especially when we need to use our brains to figure out a pattern. In knitting and crochet the pattern is written out and we just follow and the item is formed. The you tube people do not offer written out patterns because everyone is not the same size. Great job on video. I subscribed today I will be following to see what else you create

I really like that little sweater. It's cute. I use my Addi knitting machine to make charity hats. But I recently ended up buying an attachment for it that automatically cranks the machine with a push of a button. I can crank out a hat in about 7-8 minutes. It's specially helpful to me because I have a bad wrist, as it would hurt after a few minutes of cranking. Now I need to subscribe. 😀🧶

The addi machine has been around since I can remember and there's the flat knitting machines and sock knitting machines as old as the Victorian era lol.

Great cardigan. Add one round of a contrasting colour yarn after your waste yarn and before your working yarn. Then you can just pull out this round and the waste yarn will be saved! :)

Does the machine work with yarns held together, like DK + lace mohair? Love that you made panels and did ahaping because the ones where they only make sweaters using tubes isn't really my style and also doesn't suit my body type. I still like handknitting but I have a lot of yarn lol, might get this next Christmas to bust my stash.
@futurefiber
@futurefiber Год назад
I think it could work! I think key is just having smooth yarns that have a bit of give (slightly stretchy to go over the needles). I definitely think this is a good way to stash bust too if you have a lot of yarn that you might not want to hand knit necessarily (i used up a lot of my acrylic yarns and it was perfect)

Do you have any book recommendations relating to garment construction; specifically to do with yarn work?
@futurefiber
@futurefiber Год назад
Not for knitted garment construction specifically I’m afraid 😔 i think a lot of sewing pattern drafting techniques can be applied like how to draft sleeves or arm scye, and use that to reverse engineer how you can knit your pieces! (Eg. Rate of decrease to make a sleeve cap)
@jadeintheparke1
@jadeintheparke1 Год назад
wow i didn't know you could do shaping on the sentro?
@futurefiber
@futurefiber Год назад
Yes!! You cant do super complicated things in the middle of your work but you can get some control by decreasing/casting off strategically 👀
@michellelindgren8419
@michellelindgren8419 Год назад
Did adding the button band fix the problem with the neck being so big or did you do some decreasing on the back of the neck?
@futurefiber
@futurefiber Год назад
I seamed up some extra stitches together for the front pieces and the back (about 3 extra stitches on either side) before i picked up for the neck band!

may i ask what size garment you typically wear? i’m thinking about making this cardigan but i’m not sure if the exact amount of stitches and rows you gave would fit me :) also how many skeins did you use?
