Mr. Sulo Adventure
In this adventure, I am hiking to find a place at the top of the mountains where I can camp and enjoy nature. I find a small cave, but since it is narrow, I expand it with fire. I make a fireplace in cave and build a stone wall at the mouth of cave to protect from the wind. Thus, it turns into a very comfortable shelter. I have a hard time in heavy snowy winter conditions. However, I enjoy it just as much.
My videos cover Bushcraft, adventure, winter wild camping, nature documentary, craft, fishing, shelter, off grid, log cabin, primitive technology, wilderness survival and outdoor skills, diy, asmr, bushcraft gear like axes, knives, saws, backpacks, clothing systems, shelters and cooking gear.

I did something like this when I was in my early 20s. I was very fortunate because it collapsed one day while I was out hunting. I lost all my camping gear but I lived to tell the story.

@@parkherenow у вас плохо со знанием исторических фактов. Во-первых, за каменным веком следовал бронзовый, а не железный. В примитивном горне даже чугун трудно выплавить, а у него температура плавления сильно ниже, чем у железа или стали. Во-вторых, 2000 лет назад каменный век уже давно был пылью веков, Римская республика была в расцвете сил. В-третьих, в представленном выше видео нет ничего, что относилось бы к быту людей в каменном веке: люди не жили в пещерах (самое большее - пережидали там непогоду), люди использовали каменные орудия, сделанные своими руками, а не стальные инструменты промышленного производства, люди как правило жили семьями, а не в одиночку, потому что еду им приходилось добывать каждый день своими силами, а не использовать запасы из магазина. Короче, пошёл вон, безграмотный.

То что камень трескается от высоких температур это школьные знания, около 900 градусов необходимо и камень начнет трескаться, а потом кусками отваливаться. Например дискавери таким образом наглядно доказывали теорию великого пожара в Риме

@@igroman34rusify Это не просто камень, а известняк, а если быть точнее, то карбонат кальция. При воздействии на него высоких температур получается оксид кальция - негашёная известь, которая в свою очередь при взаимодействии с водой образует гидроксид кальция - вещество повсеместно используемое в строительстве. Он же был в составе т.н. римского бетона. Кто хоть раз был в горах из известняка, а особенно в штольнях, понимают что автор - самоубийца.

personally I would not trust the structural integrity of that cave. If the layers you flake off seperates further up, the whole thing could cave in.

it is definatley not structurally sound but the build looked cool to watch, just hope nobody is in it when it collapses from the fire damage, which ive never seen rocks crumble in a fire so im not sure how sound it was to begin with

@@NamelessNancy1312 It's limestone, which turns to lime/CO2 when burned and then slaked lime when it absorbs water. Not sure if this guy realizes he can powderize it, mix it with sand and water and get a good mortar/plaster for his walls and floor.

@@darcyrook7041 Plaster is mainly for aesthetic and functional finish, but as mortar between the rock slabs it strengthens the walls. You could also mix the lime with clay-rich mud and sand and have a really strong material for wattle and daub walls.

لم يكونو ينحتو الجبال الصخرية بهذه الطريقة لأن الصخر صلب جدا ، لكن هذا الجبل الذي هو متواجد فيه ربما تربته إسمنتية على ما أعتقد .

Primitives Werkzeug ist was anderes, du baust eine höle ohne elektronische Geräte aber nicht mit primitiven Werkzeug. Ansonsten sehr schöne arbeit

This was a treat man ! The local mines back in the day here, used this technique roughly 500 years ago and onwards, to break lose rocks from mines. I made a short video on that. It's amazing to see someone like you do it, to make a shelter. Right on man !

rocks contain microcrystals of water, if you put them on fire they crack. this is one of the easiest way to extract gold from quartz :D

@@candycamaro Seriously? That tiny fire's heat didn't transfer any more than a a foot or two into that 80 foot thick sandstone. Nothing is compromised. This technique has been around since the Romans.

Don't know ... but am thinking a chalk or Dolomite composition. Obviously the moisture in the rock split it in a sort of exfoliation sort of action once it heated. I don't think it would work on any sort of igneous or metamorphic type ... just sedimentary ... from water deposits. Limestone could be interesting to try ... but I think it might pop off huge chunks instead of nice layers ... dangerous work in a sense.

@@Vandrock I'd agree since quick lime is ancient cement and its made by burning limestone. If this is lime stone he is half way to cement, its at the least a good mortar material mixed with water and sand so why stack rocks without maxing a basic cement.

I figure it is limestone mostly. The Egyptians used fire andbwatet to fracture large sandstone along with chisels of flint tapped wood. As long as he doesn't go too far up in height he should avoid water fractionation

We used to take a pickaxe and shovels into the side of a mountain, for no reason, I guess wanting to find gold. We were like 8 years old, it was fun and time consuming.

Обычно, люди не тратят столько времени своей жизни на стол сомнительные мероприятия, так что вспоминается анекдот: Дети, очень важно на стройке ходить в каске! Вон видите, идёт мальчик в каске и улыбается? Когда со второго этажа, однажды, упал бетонный блок на голову, он был в каске. И ничего ему не стало! С тех пор он всегда ходит в каске и улыбается, даже моется в каске.

@@user-rf2qe4gi4k You literally just watched it collapse as he was heating it lol. It was already a collapsing cave before he started. Heat and moisture will cause limestone to collapse easily. It's a dangerous place to stay for long. That's why humans don't live like this anymore. We learned is far wiser to mine the rock, and convert it into mortar to build homes outside the mountain with.

I have a cave on my property in a very remote location, the entrance is small but inside its a cathedral, my girlfriend and I spent 1993 in it. Cave living is interesting. Now I've been on wilderness treks where I stayed in a cave and many had cave drawings and petroglyphs. With many cave drawings when the flicker of the fire pans over them they sort of come alive and move,,,you can see the humans hunting the big horn sheep, deer, bison and even big cats and bears. I'm currently letting a family of sasquach use the cave for a domicile. They rebuilt the entrance to accommodate their sizes, e.lders stand at 12'-16' tall and the bell dome of the cave is about 18' high. The entrance is sealed with a 20 ton stone and you can't tell it from the natural rock strata. I think I'll go visit this spring and see what they've done with the place,,,around daffodil time, it take them some daffodils to plant up by the road. I think I'll take them some bushels of fresh fruits and vegetables too. I'll take a couple deer with my crop damage permits at the orchard up the road and give them 3 fresh kill, ill have 2 along to tote them back to the cave.😮😊🎉

Would this have worked if the ambient temperature was 80F? Was it simply expansion and contraction of the rock due to changes in temperature? Never seen fire do that to rock before. Very cool.

@@jacquelynhull2261I'm not sure where these guys are located, but I think it's protecting his buddie's most vulnerable spot (his throat), from predators. I know we did similar protections for our dogs from wild boars. I'm guessing there may be large cats where these guys are. They are fast and ferocious!

Spike collars & coats are used by many people who live in the country to save their dogs & cats from bigger animals like coyotes, wolves, & big cats. They also work for very small pets to keep them from becoming owl & hawk snacks. They are definitely used for a reason & they work.

I too have domesticated a natural limestone/magnesite cave, manually w hammer drill sculpting. Now I use 'rock capping' w 22 & 410 shells, &c -- much more efficient. Fire or blasting threatens structural integrity.
