“Kids, rethink your choices.” 😂😂😂👌 I have never been a fan of pink. My first customization was to paint my pink Barbie scooter turquoise when I was young. Then years later they came out with the blue Vespa and I was like “see… was that so hard?” 😅
I like pink but I would never, even as a kid, want a sea creature type character to be pink. I’d want them blue or green.. you know.. like the ocean 😭 Pink doesn’t at all say “ocean” or “sea”. If anything it’s the exact opposite. The sea is blue.. calming and relaxing.. Bright bubblegum pink is intense and exciting, nothing like what we associate the sea with..
I think many girls grow to hate pink, not because they hate the color itself, but because it's forced onto them via EVERYTHING made for little girls having to be pink, and it's even gotten worse with stuff like gender reveal parties foisting pink upon girls who haven't even been born yet! Seriously, there are very few people on planet earth who want the same of any color on every item they own, so why do marketers think little girls want everything pink?
@@blondbraid7986 ironically, the only time I really wanted a little pink in my wardrobe and makeup was when I had my first baby girl. Maybe it was a side effect of social conditioning? Having had my early education in Montessori school, I can attest to the fact that children (of all genders) love realism in their toys. It is a value to their learning about the world around them to be able to play pretend with tiny real life objects.
I think the issue was the amount of foil you used. I think the tail would have been better it it was a bit thinner and with a slight impression of her legs. It would seem more cohesive. Your mermaid tails in the past had more of a flowing shape and fit the rest of the look much better. Great work otherwise! You always do what seems to be effortless makeup that I wish I could wear myself!
If the tail was more form fitting, she wouldn’t be able to remove the doll from the hardened tail. The thickness of the plastic wrap and foil left just enough space to make Lagoona convertible. I do wonder if a semi-flexible clay, like cos-clay would have suited this project better. I still think she did a great job!
i was expecting maryna to make the removable tail with worbla with a slit up the back so you could pop the tail on and off. the apoxysculpt tail makes a great doll stand, though. :)
One of my favorite dolls from my memory as a child was my Ariel Barbie with a removable tail back in the 90s. Her tail was made entirely out of stretchy fabric and it was SO cool to little 5-year-old me lol that's what I was honestly expecting here, I love the idea of her tail being a sort of solid stand though! My only critique is that it seems a bit too thick and bulky for her small Monster High body but otherwise it's beautiful!
I remember that! We couldn’t afford the real one, so I got a knock off but I still loved it just as much. You’re right though, the stand aspect is awesome, & I’d’ve died for this beauty!
I definitely prefer the original Lagoona Blue, I think that you did a brilliant job making her look pretty. I'd love to see you try to turn her in the original Lagoona with the blue skin. Excellent concept
This was such an improvement! Really agree with 'too many shades of pink!' also, thought you would change the hair colour, but the styling takes care of the yellow👍 I was loving the gold 3D paint and would not have changed it, especially because it would pick up on the gold chain from the handbag💛 like many others, I feel the tail looks big, but you would have had to cut the fins of her legs to make the tail more proportionate so fully understand doing it this way. As always you make the process look easy - a sign of true talent!
She could’ve made it out of liquid latex I’ve seen people on RU-vid make dolphins this way and it’s not as bulky and is proportional to the body. They are also removable.
Her faceup & new coloring look absolutely adorable! The outfit & fishbowl are so cute. love the creative way you covered the yellow hair. It looked so sweet! The tail has really cute accessories & the fabric design is perfect. I love everything except the tail being a bit too wide & heavy compared to her size. Rather like my own figure around the Holidays! 🍗🥖🍠🥮🍷😂 Thank you for sharing your process! I love coming here!
I like the new lagoona, but she would NEVER be lagoona blue. This is a whole new character for me. Also, loved the end result!! You managed to fit the elegant princess and high school teen into one doll!!! Beautiful 💗
absolutely love this repaint, you really upgraded the original doll so much!! i definitely miss the blue Lagoona, the new Lagoona really doesn’t feel like herself anymore 😮💨
Miss, she’s so beautiful! She’s truly one of the prettiest dolls you’ve ever made. I’ve always wanted to try doll customizing since you’ve inspired me with your incredible work, but I don’t know if I’d ever be able to do what you can. Then again, I’m sure you’ve been doing this for years in order to have that much control over your utensils. Truly remarkable work. ♥️
I love the eyes on this doll! The color pallette too. Your dolls have always been amazing, but it's been a joy to see your skills improve over the years.
I always love watching your videos! One thing that I think is odd is how thick the tail is compared to the rest of the doll’s size. I’ve seen this before in your other videos too. I still like the doll though!
I agree, but since it is consistent I can assume her reasoning is to match how thin the mermaid waist is often drawn compared their hips. Ariel for existence. It's a bit much but I see what she's going for.
I think that's unavoidable in any situation where you're sculpting the tail around the original legs of the doll, particularly when there has to be enough wriggle room for the tail to come on and off.
She turned out super cute! Love the removable tale idea. If you get ahold of another of these Lagoonas, it’d be super neat to see you turn her into a dark/beautiful creature from the black lagoon for a Halloween special.
That fish bag is so cute!!! What a clever idea, and it matches the look so well! And a very nice job hiding that yellow hair, it is an odd color choice on the part of the manufacturer
The doll is just absolutely adorable. 😍 Just maybe one tip: the background for the presentation could have been more of contrast color, like navy blue or dark teal. In the current color palette it just merges with the colors of the doll's outfit.
She’s adorable! I totally agreed with you about her original hair and all the different shades of pink, but you really made something so cute out of it. Her hair ❤ her tail ❤ her tutu ❤❤ I love her. When you were making the tail fins and you had the black lines on it, I was reminded of stained glass. I would love to see you work that in with another doll. It was beautiful. Great work, as always. Love this channel so much. ❤
She looks beautiful. I love that she can have legs or tail. I like the hair style you chose. The face up is so pretty especially the lips. Her purse is absolutely adorable. 🧜🧜♀️
You are 100% correct it’s all those clashing pinks that make the new lagoona hard to look at. Your lagoona is so lovely and the colors harmonize so beautifully
I don't why but everytime that I watch your videos every week, it kinda gives me this therapy and I love it. My favorite about this creation is the eye color. It's everything 😍
Haven't even gotten past your video intro yet, but just had to tell you how lovely you are looking in this more neutrally-toned makeup. It suits you perfectly.
I love how you took what I considered to be a mistake in the new design, and made an absolutely beautiful and unique doll! I love everything about her❤
You did a fantastic job on her. She looks 💯 better than she used to. Yes, they said they changed her colour because they asked the children who were their target audience. Anyway, she looks so much better.🥰
I agree that she's way to pink. Some dolls seen to have little paint detail while others have much more. Thanks to you I have gotten good at rerooting and my grandmother taught me sewing. I thank you so so much for teaching and inspiring all of us to do our own doll recreations. I was able to repair my myscene doll I had since 2004.
She is gorgeous. I love her outfits it's so cute and her tail is amazingly beautiful. I really do prefer the original Lagoona more. You did an excellent job. 😍🤩💖💖💖💖💯👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I feel like it would’ve been suuuuper cute to make a removable fabric tail kind of like a maxi skirt or something. Or even one of those mermaid tail blankets that were popular a while back
Great idea doing a removable tail!!! You made me think of the time I did a tail for my Barbies, it was of hot glue and board, I remember I wanted it to have texture so I did all the scales by doing little droplets and then painting all with acrylics XD it turned out pretty good actually
