The portable drill: Look in your settings for the toggle keybind, currently it’s not been activated, when activated it can mine a 3x3 square in the time it takes to mine one block
When running farms like your crop farm theres a setting you can do on gantry's as well as bearings where the attached blocks only get turned into blocks when the contraption is broken. Saves loads of time not replanting everything
As long as you have couriers, teaching recipes to 1 person means the courier can come grab it and bring it to who needs it but it also means that only that 1 person can craft it. It's usually best to teach your builders torches or planks as they only have 1 recipe they can save (can't remember if that doubles with each level up like the other crafter professions) and then teach the miller (sawmill) to do the 3x3 wood stuff and the mason to do the stone stuff. Automating the building blocks makes building a lot easier but crafting professions have very few recipes early on so leveling those up quickly is recommended. I would also recommend building a crusher as automating dirt, sand, and gravel will also make building easier.
Great that the colony is growin! Wondering whats in store for next time, Got a few suggestions to help if you want em in regards to that gantry farming setup to help ease some headaches: Instead of trying to use a timer and a gear sequencer, try using Redstone contacts on each end of the gantry, in combination with redstone links that connect to a gearshift(?) (the one that switches direction if given a redstone signal), unfortunately the Gantry does not play well with the 'piston' mode, since they operate differently, had to find that out the hard way, Using the filtered Brass Funnel is great for sorting, but since your also using a Drawer, you can just put Andesite on it since they only can accept 1 type of item, and if you lock it, even if it's empty it'll continue being filtered (Saves brass in the long run since Andesite Funnels can accept any amount of items when being used as an input nowadays
i really like how you made the town layout, it looks incredible I'm really spectating to be named xD lovely video like ever Pd. i dont know really how it work, but i think, your steam drill (pickaxe) can mine 3x3 blocks, maybe with Shift and there its a piston of the create mod, that can extend infinitely but with only the long that you make it go, so it can maybe solve your problem with the farm c:
To fix the gantry problem, you either need to chunk load it or use a minecart contraption. Also love the series and I would love if you named one of your colonists Simon or IceDragon, what you prefer
I also can't stress enough the need to understand 1m a meter is a block of movement. So his farms maybe 64ish long the gantry needs to travel 64+its resting space then back the same amount.
Yeah, I remember FoxyNoTail was having the same problems with his gantry. I think he even tried chunk loading. Just have to use a minecart contraption there, it seems.

in the 1.12 days, any mod that change bread/cookie recipe will cause cook villager stop working. since Farmer's delight mess with the bread recipe, does Minecolonies fix it?
@@imcharliedelta I've watched alot of create videos and they all try it but end up having the same problem as you did. So they end up switching to minecart contraption or trains.
When ya complained ya neign "a bookless town here" I went "so ya dumb then" brain can't help but jab. But I say throw a chunklpader that effects a large area around ya mechines.
