I like to imagine that horsepower was just more speculative back then. "Hey Grug, you know that giant creature with maces for feet and a nutcracker for teeth? I reckon this steam engine is at least as powerful as about 6'a them" -Unga
The fish used in the final experiment where taken from a farm were they were raised to be killed. I put them in a harness for 2 minutes, showed them how a boat worked. Then they were released.
Was it the most ethical/best thing you could have done, hell no, should it be normalized, hell no, did you give those fish a life and a unique journey that no other fish had been on before without permanently injuring them, hell ya. Can't expect everyone to be perfect but yelling at you would be very very very low on the list of people who should be yelled at for such things.
I dont really care about killing fish or anything, but making them suffer by keeping them above water and just generally sressing them out by all the enviroment changes is what bothers me tbh
That clip is from an older video about a North Korean cookbook, I think. Ooo, that was a good video. Yeah, nice. Haha, look at me talking to myself, again. Jeez, man, you've got to stop doing that.
The secret super power of this channel is selecting the PERFECT music for every shot and scene. As he was croozing along with five fishpower, I just listened and was like ".....damn. I love being alive."
then watch dominion documentary and go vegan else you arent interested in animal life. If you are then you are in the position to judge the video, I'm not a huge fan either
Maybe instead of putting a harness on the fish, just put a net around the tube and have the fish push against a soft net. Or, have a soft mesh net around the fish inside the tube, that way the pulling force is applied evenly around the fish and will be less likely to hurt or hinder them.
@@olivermonks2568while you are correct and I of course agree with your point/see no issue with this experiment…the idea is that these animals can’t provide consent regardless.
0:10 Catching a corporate yuppie is next level Meta and downright hilarious 😂 😂 😂 😂 How many people caught* that? 😉
@arnaudFbr Yuppie rhymes with guppie, a type of fish. The joke is he tried to catch a fish, presumably a guppie but he dragged out a salary man instead.
A few ideas for improvement: 1) Use a net that fits around the fish (leaving their faces, gills, and fins free to work) to more effectively hold them. 2) Make the tubes a few inches longer and put netting "doors" on them. If the fish "slip their traces", they'll still be contained. 3) For steering, you want the "fish yoke" to be mounted on a swivel under the tongue. Then mount a crossbar to the bow of the boat. Mount pulleys on the end of the crossbar. Run ropes out from where you sit, through the pulleys, and then forward to the "fish yoke". This should give you enough leverage to point them in the direction you wish. Good luck with version 1.1!
5:50 is the funniest thing i have seen on this channel in like 6 years, the fish smacking the ground and the look of astonishment and defeat is perfect.
If the harness was attached to the bottom of the pipe as well as the top, it would work better, as the harness makes them turn upwards when they want to swim fast. But also, I think having a small net on the front of each pipe, with a hole just large enough for their snout to fit through would work best instead of a harness. That way their head would be fixed into the net and they could swim semi-freely without the obstruction of the harness.
They got married at Disney World back when they were gay just to annoy Florida, but sadly it didn’t last beyond the honeymoon. At least they can still be -occasionally- frequently homoerotic chums.
The part where he says that nobody would supply him with the fish when he told them what he was actually doing with them, but would if he was going to kill them is funny because it seems absurd at first, until you realize that it's only absurd to us because we know he is capable and willing to follow through with such absurd, insane ideas; To these random fish people, he's just some dude trying to do something impossible and ignorant, and they're rightfully assuming he's a fool that is attempting to buy the fish despite not being able to care for them, likely resulting in the unnecessary suffering of the fish.
Remember this man is not suicidal and isn't going to go missing because of his invention He is kinda suicidal with his explosive hammer when i think about it
If they can't fake that, they'll try to sabotage his inventions. Pretty sure they already made a move and tampered with the one fish that escaped the harness.
for a better turning mechanism i would advice keeping a static plank or rod conected to the boat then an intersective rod at the other end in a T shape which is able to turn, that way the entire mechanism just doesnt turn and you actually get some controlas you can attacha rope to each side of the front rod and get to turn the whole thing, otherwise what you had was more similar to those tractors that have the rear wheels be the ones turning, you have much less control when you dont put an engine on it, either way, I will be greatly awaiting your release of the water wagon, or however you wish to advertise this as and you can be sure I will be at the very least be purchasing two, one for every day work and another more fancy one for the weekends, would it be posible to maybe have barracudas on the weekend one tho? I kinda want it to have a more menacing look, and a vehicle that has a bite function its certainly very apealing, or maybe you could strap 800 garra rufa fish so i can kinda just dangle my feet infront of the boat to control it
Idk about this one. Even if these carp are invasive, this is pretty inhumane. Many fish including this species of carp have a mucus membrane, and that harness is definitely destroying it. Also, these fish are being substantially stressed, which can kill them easily. Cool concept on paper, not great when put to practice. I would recommend watching some fish handling videos to explain why this isn’t a great idea. 13:38 how did no one question this.
Yep Im honestly dissapointed bc I love most off his videos, I just could not find this funny. Like those fish were basically suffocaiting and under immense stress and enviromental change. I cant find that funny, so.
i swear you just go for the most outlandish unrealistic goals possible and somehow engineer your way across the finish line every time. unreal work mate
On holloween where most people are making videos related to the spookey sessions like horror games and the like I.D.T makes a video about fish pulling a boat. Never change.
7:45 tfw the bait - lunch bit was already good, and the madman takes it a step further by actually eating the bait (seemingly)
6:20 theres actually a very small percentage of fish that can effectively swim backward. An example is the African Leaf Fish/Leopard Bush Cichlid. I have one as a pet theyre very pretty and have a surprising amount of character
Hey man, I will share a trick that my friend and I use for line fishing. The trick is to line your pole with 30lbs braided line and turn your drag up a little. Been doing it for 5 years no problem, hooking lots of fish and lots of snags and never losing my lures or hooks
@@tobiaswedin No. No people eat them because they taste good. Even Europeans and the colonists. Hence the name. Meal Worm Potatoes replaced MealWorms in a lot of European cooking after thier introduction.
Whether it was 1 big fish... or hundreds, maybe thousands of little fishies swimming in the sea to help you, I stayed until the end. This was a life changing experience.
