I've lived in mine for over 10 years.. No rent payments, and i live better, and am warmer then my neighbors homes.. Tiny living and horse drawn. Code Enforcement has nothing on thier books for sheep wagons.. lol.. Drives them crazy.. I Love It..
This may be the best How-To video ever. Very well explained and shown. I like that the construction is nothing too fancy but fairly simple, yet the result is gorgeous.
Thanku so much, it was a real joy to watch u construct it. I would love to do something like this but its illegal to construct your own caravan/wagon in Western Australia 😢 Ridiculous really coz i know I'd never be able to afford to buy my own camper and i truly believe in some cases the diys are stronger and sturdier than the factory ones.😊 Great to watch the build, hopefully one day I will too, Im 64 this year 😊😅 Thanku again ❤
Best DIY video for a vardo. Most do not take into consideration the need for light weight materials--they are trying to build a house instead of a moving vehicle. You realize that it needs to be light to be mobile. Kudos!
Such type of wagons are very good source of living for poor homeless people,in a small space they can live safely, stay away from cold, rain, snow and cold winds, their belongings are safe and the person it self, also good to keep safe from wild animals.
Enjoyed watching and with grandkids I just know your helping form many memories with them. Time goes so fast this unique project will for sure be part of their memory to share for a lifetime. Thanks for sharing and for me the main concern is/weight.
Really well done, I am a complete beginner but I want to buid a vardo too, and watching your vidéo gave me some more confidence. The steps are clearly explained, thank you.
👍What a joy! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS WONDERFUL PROJECT WITH US! You have used ordinary tools and plan old plywood AND TONS OF CREATIVITY to create a magic Gypsy wagon camper for your grandchildren! It is truly a work of art. ( Confession: my favorite shot os that of your dear little grandson enjoying the special activity children have treasured through the ages! 💕) ( And then there was the extra bonus of the John Deere still so close to the heart of this former Illinois farm girl! 😋)
Thank you Elisa for the kind words. I enjoy building things and I hope my grandchildren can enjoy this wagon for many years to come. Everything has a story to it and it sounds like you have many memories from your days as an Illinois farm girl! That old John Deere tractor belonged to dear old friend. I will take care of it and pass it on down to my son.
It is a lesson from you that old age is not meaningless one. Those who are habituated to work hard can build such a beautiful wagon. You grand child is so enthusiastic that muddy filed is not a big issue for him. I like seeing it that your little grand child also use gamboot to walk in mud. But it is not common in India. Here specifically village peoples walk in mud with bare foot even in rainy season.
This is so cool thank you so much for showing it. I cant wait to see it fancy painted it would be so neat made in a miniature horse style wagon hmmm thinking about that!
Wow... this was the best camper build I have watched. Thank you for sharing this I really enjoyed watching it. Very creative idea and great workmanship.
You did a Great Job! I built myself a teardrop trailer sized gypsy vardo years back. Got crap mileage towing it, but it got a lot of attention! I hope you get to really enjoy yours!
This is just lovely, and the way you taught us all is fantastic! I dont know how to hook up the brake lights though, but, can find somehow! Very inspiring!!!!! Thank you!
Nicely done!! I have found that using a long sliver of wood or plywood instead of a string, gives a much more uniform arch. Also i would of probably ran the roof plywood perpendicular so that the joints fell in the middle of the roof rafters, so that it could be sealed better.
TY. I Downloaded & subed to help. The best step by step instructions on you tube. I bet this man tought high school wood shop. He wast no words or hogs attention. A Alpha man 4 sure. LOGAS
Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate you liking my no nonsense, no BS approach. Actually, I was a Music Teacher not a Shop teacher but I just like building things and I taught myself over the years.
Funny you should say that! My son wants me to build a Gypsy Vardo on the back of that old truck. Guys are doing that. I searched online and found several old trucks with Gypsy Campers built on the back. Now, THAT would be cool!
Beautiful! What a great little camper. I would love to have the skills and space to do something like that- or the money be able to hire someone. Lol. The rubber roof is a great idea and I love those brackets. I hope you document and share the finished build. Just love it!
