Best value down jacket on the market. The next one up with the breast pocket I'd amazing. If anything, I find them too hot to hike in but out for a winter, leisurely stroll it's the perfect jacket. I find a none cotton t-shirt with a thin wool jumper underneath is the perfect set up, as with just a t-shirt if you start sweating, the inside of the jacket can stick to you and makes for an unpleasant walk, but with the wool jumper to help wick sweat, it's bang on.

@@DaleyOutdoors I mean, you still get hot but it's not clammy against the skin like a short sleeved t-shirt would be. However, I tend to use my down jacket for back at the tent as it's nice and toasty when sitting outside. Also, this jacket with some down trousers means you can easily use a 5c it 0C sleeping bag in winter and be super warm. But as I said before, decathlon have some incredible stuff that works as well if nit better than stuff 10x the price.

I’ve just purchased the wife one tonight funny enough from decathlon . The brand is wedze and it cost £82 up to -20 for our polish trip at Xmas . You had me worried by the headline lol great review

I purchased the MEN’S SYNTHETIC MOUNTAIN TREKKING PADDED JACKET - MT100 HOODED -5°C £25 less expensive and 80g heavier For me synthetic is the only way to go in English wet/cold climate I am very pleased with the performance I obviously would recommend this jacket better than the down

Hearing a lot of good things about the Decathlon gear and a lot of people are very complimentary about their stuff. I have a couple of down jackets and love the warmth they provide. Nothing comes close to down for warmth to weight. As you say, they’re usually too warm for our climate, except on weeks like this one!

This one is far too warm for me. For the money though I’m really impressed with the quality and warm/weight ratio. I’ll probably only use if for wearing at night when winter camping to be honest.

I bought a decathlon down jacket in a size above what I needed. The seams under the arms split in six months. I bought a north face jacket and one from raeburn designs and both are significantly better, though also more expensive.

I am not sure about Europe, but in Asia these Decathlon jackets come in two different cuts. The hooded is rebular fit, the hoodless is slimfit. I have been caught out by this before and travelled to Decathlon store to try on a jacket that did not fit.

My best down jacket: from ANWB..the car club...because they have 3xl...and are longer! Most jackets are too short, as an outside layer i prefer a Berghaus Cornice long. Not availeble any more...why?

I just got one of them for the wife. She loves it. We did a down water proff treatment on it to keep it as good as possible for longer.

@@parf2665 hi boss. No it’s a quick light shower protector. However it’s good enough to last for the length of time to get her pack away wet weather coat on. That rain coat works well as a wind breaker to.

love mine, just wish it was made out of ripstop nylon. but i guess that would make the price go up signifcantly more, and there would be better options in those prices.

I have a decathlon down jacket, one of the £39.99 ones a lightweight one for sleeping in if needed. I would like one to up the rating too for use outdoors with a waterproof too

@@annebeginn2034 I haven’t done a video on it but I LOVE it 😁 It’s not the lightest or smallest mat (or the cheapest) but I find it really comfortable and warm (which trumps cheap, small and light for me when it comes to sleep). As a side sleeper I needed the thickness of it as well. Hope that helps! Happy to answer any questions on it 👍

Are you sure this is down .. the one you are wearing and linked to has recycled polyester insulation... was £39.99, now £29.99 The down one is £59.99 and has red zips

Here’s a tip for -10 down jackets, when they are too warm... Open the zip, let some air in. I have never bought Decathlon anoraks. I usually go for Regatta brand for they seem to keep the wind out nicely. My current one is mostly polyester with polyester padding and is pretty good at turning the rain. It has a parka type hood with a removable faux fur trim, but I leave the furry bit on, because it makes the hood just that little bit longer which keeps the rain off my glasses very nicely. Looking in my diary, I see that I bought it on Feb 29th last year and it was £36.... reduced from £120 (allegedly)

Yeah I’ve tried the ‘open the zip a bit’ tactic, for me it just cools my front and leaves my sweaty back and arms as they are (in this coat). My ‘daily’ coat is a regatta one - I’ve had it for ages and it’s still going strong 👍

@@DaleyOutdoors Slightly off-topic: I bought Nike brand snowboarders trousers (at the ridiculously cheap price of £9) and they have a lining and are very very warm - superb for the depths of winter. But my point is, they have a zip running the full length of the inside leg which opens a mesh strip about an inch wide and gives enough ventilation when your legs become overheated.
