I Made a Peaceful Safe House in Minecraft

imagine getting home from a long day at work, forgetting the combination, and having to slide through honey at midnight with loud bells ringing in your ears. on top of getting insulted by your own machine.

I absolutely love this! The only addition I would make is to not have the noise machine operate until the player starts the maze via hitting a pressure plate on their way in.

When I saw those droppers getting set up my first thought was a bunch of slowness potions, just to make that last crawl a _little_ more agonizing. Keep up the good (totally not evil) work, Mumbo!

Very interesting. However, if I am to implement this on 2b2t, a few changes must be made. Extremely Serious Design Notes from the Editor: - The maze should have island sections to prevent the "always right turns" strategy. - There should be an extra lever to open the trapdoor to enter which triggers the bells, so the bells double as an alarm system and don't go off otherwise. - There should be parrots making creeper sounds and a nonstop note block loop of the first few chords of Small World. - Dispensers should launch eggs to create chickens to hamper movement, and to generally get egg on an intruder's face. - Trap spiders on the glass roof to incite terror. - Place several sheep nearby the secret exit to mask the real reason for the dirt block being grassless. - Put some cobwebs here and there in the maze. Just a few. - As others have mentioned, there must be a way to arm the security system while you're inside.

This is honestly brilliant. I would avoid the place like the plague in adventure mode. I picture me curiously flipping the switch only to hear the bells then just "nope" right out of there.

Nice build as usual, Mumbo! The one thing I noticed that doesn’t make much sense to me is: if you’re inside, how do you lock anyone out? The combination lock is already solved so anyone can waltz right in.

Of course, since you have no way to reset the combination lock from inside the house and no way to shut off the noisemakers from the inside if you did, anyone could just walk right in after you or memorize your combination while you were home. Apart from that, this looks like my kind of house!

I wish not getting able to break blocks were an option for a beacon effect. It would make sure like this even cooler.

I would have this house in my world, invite my friends over but keep the house locked,they can talk the insults and the painfully slow maze as well as the cobwebs

Dispensers firing slowness and blindness splash potions throughout the maze would be the cherry on top.

you should have made a sneaky tripwire detector so that the bridge opens as you drop down. that way people think they are done with the maze, the noise and all the bs, and they lose heart as they realize it was not even the worst yet.

All that's missing is some kind of minecart system that brings an elder guardian close to the house when the alarm is tripped so players get mining fatigue 3. Then intruders really can't break the cobwebs!

In my opinion, the "intruder" should have been splashed with a potion of slowness at the end to make his journey to the pit of sorrow even slower and painful. Plus that means more time to read the insults

Okay, but what about a secondary code that would be "locked" so you don't have the alarm going off while your away and the pathway is blocked, but if someone tries to mess with the lock it unblocks and the alarm goes off

I love how easy it is to break in when in survival, though it is more of a challenge for adventure. Now only issues are lack of a defense mechanism - one that stops the player from walking in , because enderpearls can still be used in the cobwebs - a way to get out without keeping the code right, nor having the alarm system active to avoid lag and noise; and that the noise machine becomes useless when block audio is disabled.

I love that this whole thing is basically a war crime

For anyone that liked Mumbo’s cobweb drop I have an idea for you: Make an area to catch the invaders in water at the bottom (maybe surround it with obsidian so it can’t break easily) and there you can stare at them through some glass and make fun of them;)

To cover up that entrance bit, I'd do a bit of decor and use it as a moss block and make it like an azalea forrest around it so it looks natural, cool build!

Mumbo should make this into a hermit challenge. Everyone has to make their own version safehouse and the other participants have to try and figure it out.

I am planning to build a fun maze to go through at my base and I am stealing half of this. "Hurt the player behind the character." is my new mantra.

I love how he calls it “peaceful” and not “harmless” so the noise machine fits the description.

The maze should change so it’s an infinite loop once you’re inside.

Love the idea, though I think the soundmaker should be started a fourth of the way through the maze instead of the combination lock being wrong. That way you can lock up your house without annoying your neighbors.

I suppose using the same technique of the maze, you can disguise the exit by a long-time-to-brute-force method. You can put a maze underneath such that it's easy to leave, but difficult to trace. You leave from base to the underneath maze, which blends well with the maze so no one knows where you came from. But anyone can't know after 1 s where you came from (of you walk away from the spot for 30 m).

One addition that would be fun to see and make the safe house even more difficult is a set of mazes stacked into multiple floors, or maybe even a 3D maze that can drop the player into earlier parts of the maze.
