► Pokemon Rom Hacking has always been something I have been interested in, and today I'll be showing you the hack I worked the most on - Pokemon Super Scarlet! This game has never been released to the public before (because I suck at rom hacking lol) but I thought it would be fun to show it to you and talk about it!
Pokemon Fire Red for Game boy advance was used as the base for this game, and has lots of features like Sinnoh pokemon!

PokeTips hi... I've been studying the combo catch/combo bonus in Let's Go and I've chained Chansey at 182 Chansey caught and I noticed the combo bonus multiplier caps at one point but not sure at what point. Do you anything about this? I noticed that in the 160's a lv. 57 Chansey with a 13.5 bonus multiplier, successful catch, excellent throw, first throw, combo bonus and size bonus gave me 16,875 exp. Points and I noticed the exact same conditions but in the 170's and now in the 180's gave me the exact same number of exp. Points. I'm not sure if Serebii has stated whether combo bonus caps at one point because if they didn't it'd be a great thing to add that it caps and it's not necessary to keep such a long chain in order to get the most out of exp. Points where the player thinks that the multiplier goes up by .50 every 10 combo catch levels.

When i clicked this video, I thought that this hack would be at its beginning (for example, it goes up to the first or second gym), but seeing that it's actually "complete" (with the League and post0game content being the only things left) is very impressive. I suggest you make this hack avaliable for the public at its current state, then use the criticism to finish it, fix glithces, add new features and so on. I'm heavily interested in playing this game.

Cody Shiny Pokemon are rarer recolours of regular Pokémon, and seeing a shiny in the intro is really rare, since it’s already painful to find a regular shiny.

I don't know much about Gible so I don't know what its shiny looks like, but May uses it at 5:35 and it doesn't do the Shiny Sprite Animation when she sends it out. Either that isn't the shiny sprite or he accidently fucked something up to make that not be the shiny sprite for Gible.

I would honestly like to play this game. From what I hear the safest way to distribute rom hacks is via a patch for the base rom. For GBA games the kind of patch you would need to make is a .ips patch. Anyway, this game looks interesting and well made. Interesting idea on the Jirachi easter egg as well. That would be an excellent way to find mythical Pokémon. I can just imagine being low on health and using an escape rope to get to the Pokémon Center but then you’re in some other dimension where the Wish Pokemon itself resides. I would love more kinds of Easter eggs like that. Hard to believe you made all this in high school. The hack definitely looks playable as is and you could easily distribute it in its current form and use feedback along with old notes you may have to finish it. That’s just my 2 cents though.

I tried once to make a Pokemon game. Back when I was in college I had just gotten Sapphire then FireRed and was playing through them and part of the computing courses I was doing, I had a game design class. We were asked to make a game for the class to show off our programming skills. We were not told to do anything specific in regards to making games, we could do whatever we wanted as long as it was playable and not too complex, so I decided to make my own Pokemon games since I liked those games more than others. I wanted to make 2 called Luna and Sol after Lunatone and Solrock, my favourite Gen III pokemon and this game had the look of a Gen III game. The games were supposed to revolve around a migration of either Lunatone or Solrock, depending on which game it was as each Pokemon was game specific. You had either a Lunatone or Solrock at the start of the game and had to keep them and also collect other pokemon as normal but you'd eventually take either the Lunatone or Solrock to a particular location to evolve them and defeat the evil team who were trying to steal the pokemon to use this evolution power for evil deeds. Basically the games were to have day and night cycles and and weather effects. If you played the Sol version, there was a migration of Solrock to a particular location only available in that game and they had to be there on a clear, sunny day. Lunatone in the Luna version had to get to a different location only available in that game, on a clear full moon night. The evil team in the games were trying to capture the pokemon before they got there and you had to stop them. The reason for the pokemon going to these locations was because on the right day or night depending on the version, a rock would start emitting energy and the Lunatone or Solrock would use this energy to have the power to super evolve, more or less what mega evolutions is now, except you didn't need an item like a mega stone to do it, although I don't quite know how I wanted this super evolution to happen. When you took your Lunatone or Solrock to the same location and touched the glowing rock when it glowed on the correct conditions, they gained the ability to super evolve but only on either clear full moon nights or bright sunny days and it only could be done once during a battle and the pokemon would de-evolve if their HP was low enough and de-evolve after the battle ended, basically similar to what a mega stone does. Solrock would de-evolve in a battle if rain dance was used and Lunatone would de-evolve if Sunny Day was used and they couldn't evolve again until the effects of those moves were gone. I had areas like "Flower Fields" which I used the Caribbean midi remix of Route 1/Pokemon Center music I found online and another area called "Moonshine Valley" but I never finished it as I was told to stop by my teacher and create a 3D game instead so never got around to finishing it and no longer have the files since the drives I had them on died.

I made my own too when I was in college lol. I didn't edit the maps because it's too much work (lol). I just stole all the Touhoumon from Touhoumon Blue (a FireRed romhack) and put all them in Pokemon Ruby, and I edited all the Pokemon the trainers use. It was really terrible. It had balance issues. I made the gym's teams myself and I have full knowledge of what their moveset is like but it still took me decades to beat certain gyms like Flannery. It was really fun though.
