Update on the next video…it might take a lot longer. Been getting pretty busy with life and the motivation to continue working on it has been escaping me🫠
I understand if you feel that way but I just want to say. This is insanely good. I love it so much. I replayed Sonic Adventure recently and seeing Gamma like this is mind blowing. you've done absolutely amazing work and I can't get over how perfect the animation is in "the search" video. all the joints and every way gamma moves is perfect. you're certainly a master of your craft no doubt. Regardless of what you do next, sonic related or not, I want to keep my eyes on it.
this is what the fans would 100% want in some kind of Adventure 1 remake, it all just works so well, i know a lot of people had said "SEGA HIRE THIS MAN" either sarcastically or in genuine faith, but i could definitely see Ranon working for Sonic Team with this level of skill and passion, the animations alone *scream* pure love and dedication :')
It really shows how important such details are for the overall feel of a game, you have the best physics and controls but it would never click without good animation and sound effects.
I’m just floored at the quality of the animations! Even if another group of fans went and made something like this, I doubt they could nail down this bouncy and, ironically, lively take you’ve got for Gamma, which is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen for a Sonic robot like this. I think you’ve done excellent work!
I gotta say, the lack of a homing shot kinda bums me out, but that's nothing in comparison to how amazing it is to see Gamma being fleshed out to such level... and while I'd never doubt this fanbase's power to will things onto existence, I still wish you could share this project someday...
The combat looks absolutely stellar for such a small proof of concept. It still wraps itself into the general element of speed that Sonic games have, but the _enemies_ are what need heightened reaction times as opposed to the environment as you progress. I can imagine the E-series fights being downright intense, ESPECIALLY Beta mk 2.
Something that I liked about Gamma is the continuous flow state that he had in SA1. When you knew the level, you could just be on a roll and blitz through the stage as you racked up target combos. Though, I can tell this is going for something different, in favor of a more traditional style of locomotion for a third person shooter. I think I just prefer the flow of the original. That said, I look forward to what else you post on this channel!
That's so sick! Since childhood I thought there was more gameplay potential for Gamma I thought I was the only one. I love the movement here, it looks so smooth to play. I do think the lock-on/timer was a great idea though; Sonic Adventure only failed by making the timer way too generous so it wasn't challenging. If you ever go back to this maybe you could still incorporate it, have two different types of ammunition for different circumstances or something. Just a thought, either way this looks really cool
This is absolutely amazing!!! 🤩🤩🤩 I wish I had money and resources to contribute to this, cause I'd absolutely love to see this come to life as a completed thing one day. The movement, the animations, the transitions, the FEEL of it all, it's so nice and freeing.
I think the best part of this is the fact that unlike most sonic fan games or concepts this one focuses on someone other than sonic to shine in their own gameplay style
This is amazing! Everything looked great from the animations, to the movement. It's incredibly polished for something that's just a side project when you have time. I had a grin on my face from start to end -- I loved it!
If there ever is a "Sonic Adventure remake," or a new game with a playstyle similar to Gamma's but modernized, I'd definitely want it to be something like this. You did an amazing job on this.
Not only he did a solid proof of concept around E-102 Gamma but also merged almost all of the SA1 overworld for the robot to roam around, amazing doesn't fully describe your work my man.
Literally looks like a playable version of your Gamma animation and I am ALL HERE FOR IT ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 even if you don't have a lot of time to work on this, there's still so much polish already, I love this so much!
This looks outstanding! I love the animations you made for gamma. Having to shoot manually instead of shooting homing light orbs sound cool too. Whole new gameplay experience playing gamma where fighting enemies is more of a focus than before.
Everything about this is seriously SICK. You need to pour your talents into an original game, it's so damn satisfying seeing Gamma's upper and lower bodies swivel as he moves about and aims about. Just moving Gamma around here looks super fun, you got an understanding of good gamefeel.
The model looks great, the gameplay does too! This is amazing and I'm so happy to see representation for my favorite character from the sonic series. Thank you for showing us this, and if you or someone else does decide to work on something like this I think it would be a very positive addition to the sonic fan game scene.
My dude, this is absolutely astonishing, no matter how long this took, as a project you did in your free time it's insane how good and most importantly fun it looks. I'd love to see you tinker with it even more, or let other passionate fans work with you so you don't have to stem it alone
bro i would so play this if it was a game. this looks amazing! the movement is very clean and the mechanics are very well made. this is better than a lot of fan-made sonic games
This is awesome! His movement and animations look really fluid! Overall the graphics look really good too, they don't feel overly "fangame-ey" or anything.
This makes for a pretty damned cool proof of concept that I would totally be all for seeing finished in one way or another... which would have been enough, but the ending now has me EXTRA intrigued because I may or may not have a very similar thought regarding the Sonic OVA world and now you've got me curious.
Imagine pitching this to Sega for a remake of Sonic Adventure. Honestly I loved what you did here and it’s incredible how much you’ve come to. And I can’t wait for what’s to come!! Good luck
in general, it seems like all the mechanics of Gamma are implemented well, but I remember it also had a car mode. When it was necessary to walk too long and continuously, it transformed into auto mode and started driving a little faster.
Seeing my favorite character from my first video game had me grinning from ear to ear. It’s heartwarming to know this title is remembered as fondly by others as it is for me. I implore you to release what you have so far for others to expand on! It’s a simple proof of concept but you’ve got me itching to mess with it!!
The _very first thing_ that impressed me here, was just how smooth and polished Gamma's movement and animations are. Like _wow_ that by itself is already an amazing accomplishment.
Also bro you are selling yourself extremely short. You nailed everything about E102. The sound the controls the movement the animation. Literally everything was amazing. You did a fantastic job. It’s so sad that sonic team keeps blowing it.
You call it messy and unpolished, but the game feel of this guy just moving and jumping around is so juicy and satisfying, give yourself more credit pls
This is abnormally good! I don't think I've ever seen a fanmade Sonic related project that I wanted to see finished as much as this one. Hope you'll find the time and mental to one day continue this.
This looks so cool! Goes to show how much fun a game can look thanks to excellent character animation. Such smooth gameplay too, you nailed it! Keep it up!
I've never seen such a satisfying walk/run cycle in a game in a VERY long time. Probably not since Ratchet and Clank Future A Crack in Time. Well done.
This is the closest we will get to a Sonic adventure remastered. For one person, this sure is very impressive. Anyone would be lucky to have you on their team
honestly just with this kind of gameplay alone, you could make your own original game with your own characters and world (if such is what you'd want) all the same, a very promising demo
Holy balls this looks fucking amazing! I find myself wanting to try it out in an fully complete and fleshed out level and seeing how it fares. Like in general, not just Sonic Adventure.
Honestly it looks like it has potential: run and gun with enemies shooting at you / chasing you down, probably some other attacks, and it's a good foundation.
This is awesome, I can't help but imagine like a third person shooter of this. Where you could choose or customize the e bots and do like team deathmatch or free for all type thing!
i absolutely love this, my only complaint is that the new firing system lacks a lot of weight to it. it looks a lil unsatisfying, but those adventure field transitions Fuck Hard and gamma animates so well
I need a full game of this. Sonic Adventure was integral to my childhood and Gamma was one of my favorite characters (with such a sad/happy ending) and seeing his animations given depth like this is incredible. Even if you made a playable demo where you go through a target range like in Final Egg that would be amazing.
This is incredible! Gamma was always my favorite Sonic character! I would love to see what the final fight against Beta Mk.II would be! I hope you do release this at some point, even if it's just what you have, I would love to run around as Gamma once again.
I like this, and I - like most people who played Sonic Adventure - love Gamma. So, I'm all for the work you're doing here. I think that you should reach out to the fan community to work *with them* to make this a reality. It's your baby, so you should be on the team.
I won't be repeating what other ay about how good thia, I just would like to say. It would be understandable if you won't be able to complete this game, However I think the one feature that would make it into a completed enough experience imo is some kind of survival mode. Seeing the movement and animations and shooting gameplay feels perfect for a Heroes' Battle Carnival stages, except with a bit more variety in enemy AI and more intresting stages that would motivate the player to master the movement and it seems that like the kind of game with the movement that is fun to master. But even just running around and shooting feels like it should be fun. This looks amazing
Ok but hold up cuz you have no idea how badly I've wanted an E-102 GAME Even is this is just a Proof-of-Concept, I still feel like I've lived long enough to at least see what could have (or _should_ have) been.
Dude, I've always wanted something like this! Gamma is one of my favorite Sonic characters (Though story-wise he is just meh). What you have done though is very impressive, and I can't wait to see what else you're cooking up!
