In this Mumbo Minecraft video, I make a Minecraft flying machine making use of components from the create mod in Minecraft. The create mod is a Minecraft forge mod that introduces mechanical Minecraft components. This wind powered airship in Minecraft uses create mod windmills, create mod cogs, and much more to create a flying Minecraft airship that actually works. This Minecraft steampunk inspired machine flies beautifully!

You might also want to take a look at the gauges and switches mod. It has some interesting redstone stuff, most notably gauges that can read redstone signal strength.

i amusignly can read whats going on. but never make it my self :P simply put in this vid, you use a piston that can extend to stupid distances, to first push the "front" forward, than the back has a stupid long piston of that same size to pull the "back" to were i should be. now auto mate that with redstone and cogs and stuff and boda bing boda boom you have a flyer, and we talking about 200 less pistions

If you're building a bigger structure that you want to be glued together, you can just take the glue in your offhand. It will automatically glue when placing a block!

I mean, the one thing this has over other redstone machines is that the pole can be as long as you want, so you could make that move 50 blocks at a time if you wanted (though fixing the timing on that would be a pain), but bloody good effort. I wanted to make something like this for ages but could never figure it out - and here it is

Best part since as far as I know there is an incredibly high push limit on mechanical pistons if one at all. So technically you have a moving base via flying machine if you attach it to the glass block where the repeaters are.
