"I have +2/+0 for every time you've triggered flow this game" is probably everything Yi needs. You could reasonably drop him as a 4/3 on turn 3. Or maybe even simpler, replace his round start effect with "Create a fleeting 0 cost Preparation in hand". Now he is essentially the same except he can contribute to the toll of having to trigger flow every turn and the RNG on his ability is removed. If everything fails, at least he'd still work as a sort of big spell ramping engine.
the preparation suggestion is something ive heard before and i really liked that direction, but +2+0 for every round you activated flow is actually quite genius. great call!
I was thinking about it and i thought : maybe yi need to loose Quick attack and gain "cascade : Grant me and my copy everywhere +2/+0 and barriere" so that he can Block and also level up from those damage. I think it will make him à cool champion but it force you to play him in a spell deck cause if you don't hit cascade every turn you dead. Maybe give him "attune"?
A week ago I heard you say in a video "when a competitive master yi deck is born, the sky will fall apart", something amongst those lines. Bro, I felt personally challenged, and carried this little Yi fella over a trip to Demacia. Now Vayne and Master Yi are chit chatting together, with tea.
The problem with Yi is any Yi deck would be improved if you replace Yi with another card. I think Yi could be improved with Empowered 12 Elusive or Overwhelm or make leveled Yi kinda work like leveled Pike where he attacks stuff until he can't kill something. He would also probably be better if he was changed to whenever you activate Flow give Master Yi +2/0 and not just when he's on board because he's too small and his level up is too big to reliably flip. Or just make him a 2 cost, he'd probably be really good as a 2 cost
Yi is very fun, I'm glad he is the way he is. The reason he is underpowered in comparison to other champions is that he kinda has a contradictory playstyle, in the sense that his discount engine is suited to a backrow champion but his level up requirement makes him want to enter combat. Moreover, his level up is actually not that strong if you take into account how easy it is to have chump blockers and wide boards plus the fact that he takes at least two/three strikes to level so at least three turns of him surviving on the board. My best deck with him is an udyr deck with freljord protection + stances that give him overwhelm to take advantage of his high attack
That's got me thinking, I wonder how good it would make Yi to have excess damage from his level up strike be done to the next weakest enemy in a chain, reminiscent of his Alpha strike in League. It definitely sounds interesting

(The draw 2 and create 2 coins) 3x Udyr 1x Shaman's call 1x hyara the all seer 2x boadir 2x buried in ice 1x singular will I'm not in any way a great deckbuilder so I'm sure this could be optimized further: if you get the ball rolling with Yi and a couple of stances though, you can put the opponent in a pretty tough spot in the mid game, and then surprise them with a discounted buried in ice for example if the game draws out for longer
Your Yi Viktor with Dragonmancer deck was kinda meta back then, it was really frustrating to fight againts and there was a lot of people on Diamond+ who plays it
I've been playing this for a while. It was with Samira and 1 riven 2 Yi 3 Samira when she was good but ended up at 3 Yi 3 riven haven't gone back to it after this expansion though. Edit: I went back to the deck this morning after changing some of the stuff in it a bit and it's a lot better than I remember. I have a lot more draw then this one and mine is less aggro--ish, with no Razormace and other Saboteur and less top end cards like Firespitter. I also found that weapon hilt is super nice for flow procs as well as Wuju Style and the extra draw that the disciple has and rejuvenating breeze are nice but mine version is basically champions or you lose and SI rolls it as they have more removal then I have protection. Also wish I had put more of the Flurry in originally because I only had 1 of before but it's actually really nice to have. Oh and also not a good card but the 5+ power rally landmark is fun with Yi as you can get the rally basically every time but it's just so slow.
I have been playing one deck only since rotation and it is Yi Pantheon with weapon masters. Works very well in my opinion. Although the deck is a little bit weaker cuz of the nerfs to weapon masters cards and some others, but still playable and decent.
Lol I was just trying to cook up a Yi/Jack deck, the idea is using the 1 mana punch to level up Yi, I got a lot of fun when doing the boat spam and it gave me a few surprise lethal but currently the deck still sucks
Snnuy id love to see you build neeko eddie its odd but ive gotten around 80 percent win rate after 17 games Ive been building it after the poro king vid i think neeko gets the 75 attack a bit more often than poro And neeko gnar has gotten a bit boring you dont really run many eddie cards ive found cloud drake bandle city dragon and warden are good enough no spells is pretty bad but honestly i find it to be amazing counter to all the morg morde my current build is (CUFACAIBCYAQGAQJAEDACKABA4DCUAIHAQKQCBYMBQAQOBIMAEEAUBABBAABSAIIAEMAIAIBAENACAIDB4AQQDAOAIDQCCAQAA) probably could use improvements im not a deck building master
i dont know if this is expanded upon in the video as im watching, but why would kaisa be the worst champ in standard? i'm having great success with her atm (with pantheon), im not questioning your judgment since im still new and dont know much about the game, but i am curious to know her shortcomings so i can try to somewhat work around it!
