This is very interesting! Got your comment about RAP/RUC soundings on my new Parkersburg video; somehow it got shadowbanned...I get my RAP soundings from the SharpPy desktop application; I had to get the RUC sounding for Parkersburg from the US Tornadoes Case Archive.
I actually deleted my comment after realizing you kind of answered the question in the video, although I didn’t know at the time that you also get proximity soundings from the SharpPy desktop association as well. Do you have a specific website for the SharpPy soundings or how does that work? Also thanks for coming all the way to my channel just to reply to a comment 😅
This is impressive! However basing your accuracy after the predictions of the SPC might not be the most appealing to your outcomes. Since your basing it on just one sounding from a specific area. You almost need a rating system of its own. Like where you plug in hundreds of soundings from around a certain area and then plot those on a map. In doing that you might be able to pick up the tornado “hot spots”. This might be able to then predict where a tornado will strike. Just an idea 😂 awesome job tho!
I thought about using it’s own rating system like Significant Tornado Parameter but I wanted to make it stand out by attempting to have it’s rating system match the SPC outlook, kinda like Nadocast. Obviously using only a sounding from a given location at a given time has its limitations (something I probably could have explained better in the video). And yea I agree creating a map would be awesome but I have no idea how to do it 😂
@@waterrocketlab151 gotcha 😂 makes sense. Yeah, you’d almost have to write an algorithm that would manually input all those soundings into your algorithm for you, or even use AI to do so. I’d have no idea how to do any of that either tho 😆
