You are truly amazing. I’m a bridal seamstress and I’ve watched almost all of your videos. You’ve been such a help to me. Thank you! And that Wallmart dress is incredible!
This is wayyyy better than the og pink dress. It looks like it used a Wal Mart comforter. Yours looks ethereal. This dress will suit sooo many styles.❤
Found myself very interested in your process! I helped my daughter for her wedding and all the sewing I could learn really fast, so I don't intend on working bridal. That said, I really appreciate the talent and skill. Thank you. I have a handmade kilt to sew in a few months so I'm warming up!
I really enjoyed watching this project and how you used the celebrity dress as inspiration but then made a more wearable version. Imaging how amazing it would look in silk satin and chiffons. Love how you have shown how you can repurpose curtains for an affordable version and I always enjoy listening to your stories as well as seeing your process.
You are so sweet to always watch & comment. ❤️ Have we met yet? I'm hosting an interactive virtual retreat in a few weeks if you want to look into attending? e027-info.systeme.io/03df8fc6-c410e56c-f9df4cdb-ee5dd0f3 I think you'll love it.
This was so fun to watch! You always have such an amazing balance of entertainment & information in your videos. Any thoughts on how the train would be attached to the sleeves that wouldn't tear or fall off? I've been trying to figure that out since I saw Ariana's dress!
Yes!! It looked like a long puffy rectangle that unfurled from the wrap/sleeves. Because I saw her later with only wrap & column dress, no train. I was assuming the train was bustled into the wrap at that point. I think that shape was a nod to her traveling in a bubble as Glinda.
If someone chooses this dress, and they want the voluminous sleeves, a trick that used to be used was to attach a small ring, perhaps that could work here as well? It could give the bride a bit of control, and if it was a bit loose, it would be easy to take off and on. Have you seen this still used?
I fully appreciate and can see the work gone into this and it's alot better than the one on the pictures I think if it didn't have those huge sleeves it wud have been a nice dress. I always think a lot of the dresses the celebrities wear are ugly so they are designer dresses cost a fortune but are not nice at all. I'm fairly new to sewing and have been making my daughters prom dress and petty coat I have the petty coat and the dress skirt made and am working on the corset top I pretty stuck with something I wanna do pleating on the top and I can get it looking like I want on the form but struggling when having to take it off the form to actually sew it as soon as I tsk it off the form the pleats move or won't sit right it's so frustrating
Make sure you watch my Taylor Swift corset video, because, in that one, I show where/how to tack the ruching. If you can iron the fabric, you can also cheat and put fusible under each fold to hold it in place. I don't do that for client work, but I would do it for my own projects. We are seeing more and more adhesives used mainstream now.
