I have witnessed many cosplayers get verbally attacked for cosplaying characters that are different races than them. Yes that's extremely ignorant, I agree. I was thrilled to see POC represented in the show, and the racism displayed in response to it breaks my heart. It's not in the spirit of what Tolkien wrote about. I have seen a number of RoP cosplays done by Tolkien fans who are so happy to finally be able to cosplay characters who look like them. I didn't want to take that away from anyone.
