I do believe that Barcelona had a full team due to most of the players they were using being from their B team so only singed a few names and promoted youth
No wonder Porto won the UCL, they had their entire real life squad and got to sign of a pool of world class free agents. Even if bigger teams had bigger wage budgets they would not be able to construct depth or fill all positions.
Batistuta was the best Argentinian Striker in the 90's and early 00's. A Fiorentina Legend. I can't imagine how it is possible not to know him. I can see someone in 20 years from now getting a Gerrard Shirt and say I got this Liverpool shirt with Gerrard name on it. But I never heard of this player.
It all depends on who you follow. I am old enough to know of this Batistuta bloke, but I've never heard of him. To make a comparison to our host here, George Best retired when I was 6 years old and I know who he was. Not that I am a United fan, but mostly followed the English leagues and still primarily do now. I never watched the Italian leagues, and probably couldn't have told you one single player on any team until Ronaldo played for Juventus.
Also consider you are talking a Liverpool player vs a Fiorentina player. That's like being aghast that someone doesn't remember some player from Burnley but remembers Gianluigi Buffon 20 years from now.
@@100percentSNAFU An Italian would know Gerrard, whatchu on about. Also what does Burnley have to do with anything. Batistuta is a legit legend of the game winning two golden boots while leading Argentina to two Copa's, and was the all time leading scorer for Argentina until Messi broke his record. Of course no one will remember Ashley Barnes for his achievements in twenty years 😆
Low key unbelievable he doesnt know Batistuta. One of football's legends regardless of how old you are. Makes me wonder what other key legend players he doesnt know
@@Bhoope i dont blame him, i was kinda surprised cause Batistuta is definitely not an obscure player, hes argentinian legend. Check his international and club stats
So what always is annoying about databases like this is that FM has wage budget as wage budget remaining in the database not overall wage budget. This means that no clubs can bring in the top player because they dont have the wages available.
I dont like the older databases cause of the fact they basically deal with budgets as are these days, so like 30m for a player rather than what it was. I get people went to great lengths to get stats etc but it just gets me lpl
@@pavlenikic9712 I’m old and from England. We used to have Football Italia on Sundays, before Toms time haha. Batistuta and Signori were my favourite forwards.
@@KingRagnar when i was a kid if i was playing footy with friends, id be eather bati, or if i was on goal, then i was canizares. I guess im a tad younger but still.
Perhaps we should get them to play the early 90s Championship Manager as their lack of knowledge would make for an interesting experiment. Just Remember, Neil Lennon was the next Maradona in CM2. Not knowing Batigoal is like not knowing Matthews, Dean, Muller or Pushkas.
Great vid as usual Tom. 👍 Anyway have you done experiment where Prem clubs could only sign English players? I wanna see its impact on the national team
Can you pls rebuild Polish club with Most history that now play in the 2 division called "Wisła Kraków" and try to get Polish league to number 1 league? ( 2 week (19 day) )
Btw Tom, the “full squad” that Barca “signed” at the beginning of the video is literally just our B-Team and youth academy players. We didn’t sign anyone.
This would make such a fun career save though, like you pick a club that's slightly of the best in the world and try to win a UCL this way (like a brighton, villareal or Frankfurt)
Ok I was literally just typing you've never heard of Batistuta but then you explained so I'll let you off. He's one of the best known strikers of his time
