I made a work dress from Laughing moon - in my mission to find historical cozy-clothes I found this pattern form Laughing moon, that looked just right, and not too difficult to make so this wouldn’t take long, right?. Well it wasn’t difficult, just time consuming and it took a whole lot of fabric! But you know what; it’s the perfect cozy-clothes dress! IT HAS THE BIGGEST POCKETS FOR SNACKS!! And I just love that.
So if you are looking for “historical cozy clothes” this patterns is perfect!

I can imagine this dress in a lightweight wool 😻 Expensive, but so cozy!

I love this shirt dress - it looks so comfortable. And you did a fantastic job on the piping. I always leave that part out because it intimidates me. Can’t wait to see this done in a flannel.

The dress is so well made! It'll be just fine in polyester, will save you hours of ironing 😊 I'm also in Denmark and very encouraged by this project! I've sewn clothes from a pattern before but something always goes south 😅

Velkommen til! Altid rar med endnu en dansker. 😉 Thank you 😊 I tend to see it as a design choice when that happens. 😉

I think they would have used the cheapest possible fabric for these dresses, so in that sense, polyester is perfectly appropriate :) looks beautiful in the end

The camera moving along with the sewing machine is hilarious! "Shoulder seams" is definitely a tongue twister in English. XD XD The dress looks very good and cozy! A flannel one would be amazing for winter!

That turned out beautifully. What a lot of fabric it takes, well worth it though. 😍

A lot of work but it turned out great, so well done! Good job on the piping also - it’s a skill I have yet to tackle myself, so thank you you for making it look easy!

I know that Victorian women wore wrappers as maternity wear, but were they sewn as normal clothes and then accommodate pregnancy or did they make different wrappers for pregnancy and household chores
@TheHBSeamstress

Well, that's a good question 😊 what I have found is that they made the same kind of wrapper but in different fabrics, but then again I'm not an historian so I might be wrong. 😉
