Fabric artist here! You measured correctly but didn't account for the thickness of the material so when you bent it inwards the bottom flared out. Cutting out little triangles from the back of the foam would have kept it straight down.
Oooooh! It looks so pretty! It’s always so neat to see the wild variety of fan artists within the MCYT community… ranging from these gorgeous dioramas to intricate stories to really realistic cosplays to insanely detailed drawings, to the absolutely catchy fansongs. Like, there’s so much talent within our fandom and it’s so inspiring to see. The coral pops so well on this! I was worried about the prismarine color at first… that it would be too green, but it’s perfect! And the water! It’s so shiny! And then the white paint added over it for the foam!!! The fact that you’re able to create such detailed and magnificent recreations of Minecraft builds out of what, to the average person might seem like scraps or junk… I’m in awe. And it makes me want to do something like this, despite having no skills of this sort whatsoever.
Holy SHIT! This is incredible!!! I work in theater tech and I am so impressed that the stuff I do on a larger scale is able to be done just as well IF NOT BETTER this small!! Specifically the mod podge over resin is something I’ve never thought of before and will definitely be trying during my model set pitches this season

This is amazing! Its looks so good all together! Small resin note, it is supposed to get warm, its a sign that the chemical reaction is happening but double check the details of the specific kind youre working with because it getting too hot can be a sign you are near the end of your working time with it (basically time to get it into where its going so it can sit still)
i think it would be super cool if you recreated shubble’s rainbow mushroom palace from empires season 1! it’s a super colorful build that is also kind of at the center of her empire and i think you would have fun with it :)

maybe next video, you can do philza’s house on the QSMP. I love the architecture and the cozy design of his house, and that it’s on a gigantic wall. (also, really love the ocean palace)
A cool thing to make as a diorama could be Pearlecentmoon's Hermitcraft S9 alien mega base :D Not the whole thing obviously but maybe the mushroom that she lives in or the mother plant or the chunk of landscape with the colorful forest and tower. Very organic shapes so you can have as much wonk as you want! :D
It looks great! One small suggestion - if you add a dark wash of very diluted paint over top, and blot it, it enhances the 3D appearance and texture of the piece. It would really make everything pop just that bit more, and it can unify different elements. As a Delco Pennsylvania native, I love the Wawa representation. It’s our best export.

I’m guessing if you ever did more of these you’d probably do something from a different SMP, but a great one to do from Empires s2 would be Kathrine’s Palace. Very colorful, interesting shapes, not too big or minutely detailed, and a very recognizable build.

This is incredible, and I'm so happy you took this suggestion and made something awe-inspiring out of it! If you're turning this into a series, three particular Minecraft builds I'd love to see turned into realistic dioramas, in no order specifically, would totally be Eret's pride palace (a staple of the DSMP, if you ask me), Lizzie's mermaid palace (from Season 1 of One Life), and The Great Witch Shelby's house in Season 2 of Empires! No pressure at all, but can't wait to see what you do next :]

That is- wow. That looks amazing- As for builds that would be cool to make, Scars Scarland Main Street or castle! Ofc it would be really cool to make the whole of Scarland, but that would probably very difficult- some other things that would be cool are Pearls DL tower, the RelationSHIP, the red velvet keep (can you tell I like double life yet?) The Scottage, the Clockers tower, The entity, grumbot, Grian and scars sand castle from 3rd life, (don’t know if it has a name.) hermitopia (or any farm from it,) olipeligo, and that’s about it- some of these thing would be harder then others and I’m in no way expecting any of these to be done since even doing one of these would take quite a long time, but you asked for suggestions so I shall give you some! :)

There is a solution to how to approach your two reasons... For example, we all know how big the goblin village is; assuming the square you used for this project is the maximum space to use, you simply scale down. some builds can be simplified with simple shapes accomponied with painted-in details. If your blender skills are noted, I recomend the study of "normal maps" for this kind of big scale project on a small canvas. 😅

Hi I absolutely love the result but resin can release a chemical that can be very toxic if your not careful so if your using resin I really recommend using a mask or respirator. Just to be safe
This is so awesome!! I absolutely adore your crafts and content -- in fact, just a few days ago I was rewatching your stuff! The amount of effort and love you put into all of your work is truly inspiring! And for a build idea, maybe Purpled's UFO? You could make the beam glow in the dark, and I think it'd look neat, especially because it was a staple build for the Dream SMP --at least, in my opinion.
I wanna learn how to do this because I do like art but I’m lazy and not very good at it and would get annoyed if i mucked something up, but this is absolutely amazing. This gives me hope to be able to do this.
