Sorry for the long comment Thoughts: Camp Half blood, I think the fandom should adopt this as our anthem. That’s all I’m going to say. Pick a side, This is easily one of my favorite songs, and that’s not only because I’m frikkin in love withClarisse’s vocals. It foreshadows Luke’s betrayal really well. If you’re not really looking into it, it may just sound as if he is trying to prevent a war. Then the, “I’m never going to help my father,” line thrown in there, and you probably won’t hear it unless you were actively listening. Also, did you catch the, “Percy couldn’t find his way out of a paper bag,” reference. It’s from house of Hadies. Yes, the song writers referenced something from 9 books later. So, after the climax the characters were having a picnic with Reyna. She told them that it was easy to track them after she found their note. Then Percy told that she was being modest, and that she flew halfway across the world by herself to make peace. To which Reyna responds, “says the demigod who fell into Tartarus and managed to find his way back.” Then Annabeth says, “he had help.” They Reyna responds with, “oh obviously. Without you, I don’t think Percy can find his way out of a paper bag.” And Annabeth just says, “true.” This is one of my favorite chill moments in the series, and I can’t help grinning like an idiot every time I hear it in that song. It’s a reference to a line spoken by my favorite character. I can’t complain. Try. Yes, I completely broke down when I heard this one for the first time. It’s absolutely gorgeous. It might have felt a little out of place if it was included in the musical, but I really don’t care. At this point, it might seem unrealistic that they would become such close friends in such a short time, but I like to see it more as they want each other to succeed. They’ve been through a couple life threatening experiences together so far, and they just want to see each other succeed at this point, and then close friendship will follow. The wittlest Minotaur, This song is the best thing in existence. It’s silly to the point of perfection. Take the weight, This is probably my favorite song of all time. I’ve never related to a song this much in my entire life. I’m glad they cut it, because grand plan is a much better fit for Annabeth in the lightning thief. I find it ironic that this could fit for literally all PJO and HOO book except the one it was written for. Regardless, I adore take the weight. For the first time, I felt as if the song was written for me. In the same boat, This song is a mess, and I love it for that. The percabeth bickering is perfect. I’m not a huge fan of annabeth’s weirdest dream reprise. That was pushing the romance in a way that felt very unnatural, which is the opposite of their relationship in the books. I mean, it took them four whole books of build up to kiss for the first time, and took then five whole books to actually start dating, but other than that, this is so fun. Did you catch grover’s, “if we’re lucky, they’ll end up in an abyss,” line, which singlehandedly made this Grover the fandom’s most hated character. You missed one by the way. Did you listen to the original intro and ending for grand plan. I won’t go into details because that might ruin it if you haven’t heard it, but that ending is so powerful. I agree with you with annabeth's alternative song it sounds like a fan song it definitely sounds like an annabeth song but it just doesn't fit the musical.

the bridge of try is a masterpiece. annabeth's voice going down slightly at 'it's crushing me down' as foreshadowing for ttc, the lines 'you're back home', 'find what matters', and 'you're remembered' funnel directly into DOA, and it's a testament to their bond that they remember and want to help each other reach their goals. the way that percy was so intent on helping annabeth 'be remembered' is so sweet and shows how quickly they became friends. it highlights that none of them wanted it to be like this, how they're just kids and shouldn't be expected to save the world. it also fucking slaps
