I was about to go out and buy fabric to make a red riding hood costume but then I realized I didn't even know how much to get, so I looked up some ideas and your video was one of the first ones. we are on the same wavelength! Edit: I would love to see you explain how to drape fabrics and make your own patterns, and also where you get your fabrics!
She explained in another video, I’m pretty sure Cinderella dress that she buys her fabrics from Joanne fabrics. if you have tiktok there’s a great tutorial to make your own patterns by Gunnar Detherage!
This is beautiful! You have really inspired me to continue sewing… I got myself a sewing machine like 4 months ago and I’m too afraid to touch it because of my perfectionism and performance anxiety… but this just makes me want to try!! Seeing how you also aren’t sure about things but you try it anyway I think I’m gonna try to make the cape! It’s a good beginner project I guess I also love the embroidery! You’re so creative
Maybe get some cheaper fabric and first make a mock-up. I have the same problem and I think most struggle with cutting into fabric became they are afraid if mess it up. So it’s easier to try on a something else first. Good luck and do not forget to relax and breathe :) it’s helps me to remind myself.
The ribbon for the neck is adorable. The embroidery is adorable. Yes the cape isn't that long but when you see it from behind, the skirt frills? make it look like that's part of the cape and they swoosh together fantastically. I've got a werewolf red riding hood steampunk character that I love and have made 3 hoods for with different designs. I love the simplicity and the look of your circle cape.
I love sewing too! I actually going to be Little Red Riding hood for Halloween this year❤️ I’m so happy that I discovered another person on RU-vid who does sewing!
Even if the cape is shorter than the dress, still it looks SUPER COOL😃😍, I love love love this out fit and I enjoy watching all your sewing on my leisure time!! I've had a sewing machine for two years and I didn't know when and how to start, but now I guess my inspiration kicked in, thanks to you, I'm gonna start sewing!!
I'm actually in the process of making a red riding hood costume based off of what I saw in your tiktoks and it's nice to see how you did the petticoats.
I think that the cape being a little shorter then the dress made it all the more magical it looks so good with the dress hanging lower it looks more mature then I think it would have looked with a longer cape but it is beautiful nonetheless
Does your shirt mean you went/are going to Chapman University? I'm so curious because my best friend Emma goes there (currently a senior) and it would amazing if you two knew each other somehow haha.
