I made this simple aquarium with just two pieces of mangrove wood, one stone and a few plants. It is just an example of what you can do with little money and this is a perfect beginner friendly aquarium. In this step by step aquascaping tutorial I will show you how this simple aquascape was built.

Love your videos as always. Wood like that is very expensive at pet stores in the US.
@IMaqua
@IMaqua 11 дней назад
To be honest it is not much cheaper here in Europe. Hardscape in general is way overpriced.

Setup-wise, maintenance-wise and enjoyment-wise, simple is the best of most worlds. What do you put in the HOB-filter? I filled it with smaller pebbles of Seachem Matrix with a layer of floss on top. I will be adding a sponge to the intake soonish.
@IMaqua
@IMaqua 13 дней назад
I have to say you are very wise...Usually I just add some kind of sponge and very fine filter floss. I add big sponge (relative to the filter size) on the intake, I think I told you where I got it couple of weeks ago.
@frankvermeulen4621
@frankvermeulen4621 13 дней назад
Wise is relative. 😉 Yes, I remember. But the alternative I found is more locally available, namely the intake sponge of the Dennerle Scapers Flow Filter (I think that's what it's called). It's round and smaller, but it needs a bit of plastic on the underside of the pipe, so it doesn't fall off. If you know what I mean.
@IMaqua
@IMaqua 13 дней назад
Yeah I understand what you mean. It took a while as well before I found the perfect sponge that is able to fit the intake.

Love the setup, very simple and informative! Does this setup need CO2?

No this setup doesn't need CO2. Thanks for watching.

light intensity for this sparse of planting?
@IMaqua
@IMaqua 11 дней назад
Usually I keep the light brightness low. In this particular aquarium it is 10%.

Are you using glue to fix it on the wood?🤨
@IMaqua
@IMaqua 8 часов назад
@@mannyblackstar I used glue just to keep hardscape (wood and stone) together as one cohesive unit. I didn't use glue to attach plants to the wood.

@@IMaqua so how come they are not floating in the water since they are not soiled. It's very confusing brother. Can we glue the plants on the rock tho? The anubias and others? Please help. Thank you
@IMaqua
@IMaqua 8 часов назад
@@mannyblackstar as I mentioned the wood and the stone are all glued together so the weight of the stone is preventing the wood from floating up. Yeah you can glue the plants to the wood or stone. I always try to find small nooks and crannies and place Anubias in there. If I am not able to find that I will glue plants to the stone.

@@IMaqua thank you so much brother because I was confused as if we glue plants to stone or wood they will die in few days. I miss your old Pfp of your betta. Following you since the day you made your first video. Another account got terminated sadly. I will now use your technique to make a great aquascape for myself and betta and will name it BOBETCO. Thank you brother. Your channel is being really helpful and motivating and relaxing for me and many around the world. Please don't stop because there are people who love you and what you do. ❤️

@@mannyblackstar thanks a lot for compliments. I miss Bobetco as well. He lived such a short life. Good luck with your aquarium. Cheers.
