"Sobriety" while living on redbull, dip, cigars and God knows what else. Ticking time bomb. If I was Garret I would get as far away from this scam artist as possible.
One thing about Bubbie is he's been consistently improving his game. He plays to his shot shape and is honest about his own game. Doesn't need bladed type irons to "show off". Consistency above everything is how you get better and it's shown in the last 2 years I've seen him play.
Bubbie, I love the way you're always looking to improve your golf game. In your situation, I think it could be easy to just enjoy the ride and go out & swing a club and be happy with whatever happens. We see you out there keeping yourself in top physical condition and actually caring about how you golf.... that's very commendable. Also, I am the proud owner of autographed box 355 of 500 of Bubbie Stogies. As a Vet, thank you for supporting "Folds Of Honor"... a GREAT cause. Keep doing what you do!👍
I think bubbie is more than good enough to use players irons with more traditional lofts because he absolutely smashes the ball and those players distance irons go too far for his swing.
Yup, that's what I said. Hope he tries out the X Forged CB Irons. I'm pretty shocked no Callaway fitter got him into those. Or even the Apex Pro's. Both are much closer to traditional lofts. He'd still be longer than everyone, but would be much more consistent club to club.
@@Drillbitayler yeah same, idk why callaway didn’t fit him into the TCB’s when everyone else is using them, even Steven. Bubbie can easily use those tbh. He doesn’t need distance he needs distance control and consistency.
I believe Bubbie wanted the forgiveness and distance. But both those irons are too hot for him. He should try the Apex pros if he wants a little more forgiveness with consistency.
I’m pretty sure bubbie wanted the cast clubs. I would have figured he goes to a forged but he liked the distance. He also was playing awesome ever since he added them to the bag. I think this video was a good hey maybe I want some consistency over the big number.
@@josiahjones9521definitely, but I have heard from a couple pro shop pros (not fitters necessarily so different view) that start with irons you like the look of and go from there. If he likes the big head and that gives confidence that may be all he needs. Though I would 100% think he should be in the pro model or some forged club head
Such an inspiration to us! Remember the huge slice with driver and now have a consistent high draw! Love watching you play and absolutely bomb everything!! Inspire me on my sobriety journey too! What a Legend!
Equipment doesn't make the player but it certainly helps improve your game. Bubbie has come a long way and he just keeps getting better. Love to see it.
Bubbie, you probably won’t see this, but word of caution: as a nurse I use to drink Redbull all the time to give me energy throughout my shift. I’m a young guy and fairly healthy. However, I noticed I started getting frequent chest pain after drinking Redbull. Well, after a night in the ER I found out that part of my heart is enlarged and I suffered a heart attack. Dude, we love you as a member of GoodGood, don’t cut that time short. You put yourself at risk for MI and Stroke by drinking that crap. Stay healthy my friend!
I mean this is the most respectful way possible, I’m so sick of hearing bubbie talk down on his golf. Give your self some props my boy your game has improved majorly! Love to see it
Have you ever consider getting some irons with more traditional lofts? Assuming these are the regular Apex irons, they are basically an entire club different in lofts (meaning 8i is the loft a normal 7i). Loft jacking can help the ego, but usually it screws up spin rates and can give you those crazy "flyers" out of the fairway. I had this happen with my M2 irons when I first got back into golf, and then upgraded to a better iron and my distances got WAY more consistent.
The "jacked lofts" aren't an ego thing, it's part of the overall design. The newer clubs let you hit the ball higher. If you can hit a 5 iron 10-15 feet higher and keep the same distance or get more distance, that's very beneficial for long approach shots.
@@slightlycrookedworkshop That's just what the big brand companies tell you to sell more clubs, but it's absolutely an ego thing. There's a reason zero pro's use "player improvement" irons. Sure, there's a benefit from going from straight blades to something with a little more forgiveness (many tour pro's now do this, using whatever is one up from straight blades), but nothing further. These player improvement irons have gaping's that are WAY too far apart for a good golfer. If you aren't good, then they are great. Slower swing speeds need the help. But with decent speed (or like Bubbies great speed) they just screw you up. Now you have 15-20+ yards between clubs. Each club can go 10-15 yards different depending on strike. AND you have the potential for "flyers" out of the fairway (which is what used to happen to my M2 irons, my 7i would randomly go like 230+ out of the fairway and I'd fly the green.) He'd probably have to hit one more club from most yardages, but he'd be a MUCH better golfer. And honestly, who cares if you're hitting a 9i or an 8i from 175? Kwon often does the opposite, and clubs up, hits a knock down with a bunch of spin, and stops it on a dime. That's what pro's do. I love Bubbie, and only brought this up because I think he'd do so much better with some cavity backed irons. For Callaway, these would be the X Forged CB Irons. They still have semi-jacked lofts, but much closer to reality. He'd be so much more consistent with these, and I think he could make that jump from a 7-10 handicapper to like a 3-5 handicapper. He absolutely has the skill, just needs to put it together and these irons would help IMO.
I'm finally starting to see where you derive your excellent club speed from: you have some super-neat lower body action that really opens the hips with a lot of lag. I imagine your miss is when you get kinda trapped behind the ball, yes? Love you, brother. Jaxon Golf shop would love to host you here in Somerville, MA!
I love these type of videos! I think more people could benefit from playing with more forgiving wedges. Rather then blade style. My 48 & 52 are forgiving irons for yardage. My 58 vokey is for chipping & pitching.
i see hecz in the background and was like wtf. good to see the optic dad just chillin. hope he gets into golf more and plays a couple rounds on cam with the boys.
I'm interested. I've been playing max forgiveness irons for a few years now and recently I hit a buddies p790's and they felt so pure I am wondering if its time for a more player's distance iron. It's good to see you making changes as your game improves and I hope I am following the same trajectory.
Apex are my favorite clubs. Been playing the 2019 models for a while now. Great feel and still very workable. Bubbie, you are absolutely good enough to be using apex' over the paradygm clubs!
I really want someone to tell bubbie with his shorter irons make sure you are watching the carry. That’s how you will score better. The 4 is good for total as you are using that off the tee. But 6 and down should be about carry. Watch those number dial those in and then the score will drop even more. Love watching you do your thing brother 👊🏼
If you want consistency you need to bring your swing direction, club path, and face to path closer to 0. I'd say within 3° of 0. Slinging the club 12° right and shutting the face 11° to the path is impressive. But you can't be consistent like that
Love that your always trying to make the game better, if you ever wanted to do a vid about teaching someone with there game I'm right here. What would be a cool series all the boys take 1 real new player and teach them for 6 months and see who's person wins a game against the other guys player
It would be interesting to see how you would play 18 holes with a bag of straight blades. Could ask callaway if they would send you pw-4 of their MB's for a video. I think you might like them more than you think.
Distance isn’t everything gapping is more important. You’re not generating enough spin with stronger lofted clubs to hold greens better. 7000 spin with a pw is very low. Playing a draw as well decreases spin. Having a trackman you need to start looking at peak/descent angle/backspin more
Bubbie you are the perfect candidate for the SriXon ZX 5 irons Gen2. Realize your hooked up with Calaway but SriXon ZX 5 is your club. When no one is looking give them Srixons a test drive. So forgiving and super long.
I love that you take pride in playing a "game improvement" iron because surprise surprise... THEY IMPROVE YOUR GAME! It's insane to see people playing clubs that are making the game harder for them rather than playing the clubs that allow them to enjoy the game. Let the scorecard do the talking!
great video you and the good good guys should try some courses in upstate NY like Saratoga Or Fairways of Halfmoon Fairways of Halfmoon is a nice course to play
You hit the Apex 4i better. Smaller head profile perhaps forcing you to be a bit more precise with your strike? Sounded better. Only 4 yards less. I’d be curious to know the descent angle.
