One change I'd make is the value of the pieces. Kings give 200 (for minimum ELO Incase all pieces are captured), queen gives 1000, rook gives 500, knight and bishop give 300 and pawn gives 100
Challenge: Whenever Martin moves a piece, its new rank and file form an impenetrable barrier that you can't enter or cross (or jump over with the knight). If too easy, the barriers could last for two turns.
Hey Nelson, would it be possible to do a round 2 of this? I would like to see how different this could play out if you did a different opening and maybe some rng elements.
ive done this several times in the past and the game never gets passed a miniature since its so weak at the beginning. had I known over 100k people are interested in it I would have been posted it lol
Challenge: Start at (say) Wally. Whenever you are better than the bot, you switch to the next-higher bot; whenever you're worse, you switch to the next-lower bot.
Stockfish is actually sometimes easier to beat in an end game than a human, because once it sees checkmate, it will just play the moves that makes mate take the longest amount of time. Which is sometimes trading and simplifying which makes actually seeing how you do the mate easier for you.
Challenge:Spin to see which piece you can move,if not, give Martin a queen.Harder version:Also spin to see to give Martin pieces😅Castling is a king move😊
Nice! Low level bots tend to play okay in the opening. It's everything after that they're complete garbage at. So this challenge certainly wasn't easy.
Ok, hear me out... Chess against Martin, but you're trying to lose. The twist is, if you can take a piece you have to, and if you can check the king, you have to.
I have a challenge for you: You play against stockfish, while stockfish doesnt have any pawns, but you play as black. that way you win the endgame for sure since, you have pawns. but not after a massive attack. I tried it out, its not that simple edit: baby-proofing my comment (people thought i said black doesnt have any pawns and then called me high)
Challenge Martin the undead king chess with Martin but he is the undead king, he has the undead army. If you kill (capture) any of his pawns or pieces, they will resurrect in their starting square. If you occupied their starting square then they will delay resurrecting. However, once you move away from their starting square, they will resurrect. If for some reason you let Martin promote his pawns, then the promoted pawns will resurrect still as the promoted piece in their pawn starting square if they are killed. Extreme version Martin the zombie undead king Martin has the zombie undead army, aside from resurrecting each time they are killed, if Martin captures your pawns or pieces, they will become his pawns or pieces. Luckily for you converted pawns or pieces are weaker and they cannot resurrect.
Stockfish Arcade Legends You play with white. Your game score starts at zero and goes up by one after each Stockfish turn for each point of material you control. Try to score big until Game Over. How high do you think you can score? Cash in your allowance for a roll of quarters. Thumbnail can feature pinball LED 3-letter name tag next to mystery high score.
challenge idea, you're trying to beat stockfish but after you make a move martin gets to make an additional move for you. He might help you he might not help. You have to make the checkmate though, martin cant checkmate for you
I think his purpose of putting Martin in the beginning and gradually levelling up is because he won't be able to level Stockfish on par, maybe he could do this with Antonio or Isabelle
Challenge : Avoid trading piece. I mean if opponent captures a piece, then and only then you can recapture it. You won't have to capture the piece first.
Idea: Chess but Zombies invade the Chess Board. Martin’s a8 Rook is a Zombie and every turn every zombie peace infects the piece worth the most beside it (not diagonally). Zombies infect at the end of each set of moves. Your pieces may also get infected. If your King is infected, you lose. To win, there must be no non-king zombie pieces on the board and you must checkmate the king.
How about playing against Martin for like 10-20 turns without checkmating or taking too many material and then after set amount of turns you change it against Stockfish?
3:04 you queen c5 would be just a blunder of a queen because the pawn would sit on d4 and could take the queen or am i missing something (btw the queen cant take the pawn because the white queen would kill her)
(I know this comment is very old): After castling if black plays Qc5+, white can play d4, and if black takes the bishop then you can take blacks knight with your dark-squared bishop
5:57 Ne5 is, in my opinion, the best move because it defends the g4 pawn and after Qe4 guarding the c6 pawn, you can play Nc3 kicking out the queen, and while yes Queen check will... Oh wait, after you move your king, the opponent can go Rd8 wich is a losing trade but his king is kind of safe. With bishop takes now, however... Nah, it's the same thing at the end of the day.
12:36 I thought c6 was actually a pretty big mistake as black doesn't have to take, and if you look at the eval it turns out stockfish said the endgame was almost drawn at that point lol Point is, black keeps defending their pawn and the c6 pawn is weak, so when you lose it its a very complicated passed pawn race
