If you couldn’t tell this video was made a lot faster than the last one and with that comes a lot more problems. As always, I encourage you to point these problems out as you see them to help me get better as a writer. You guys are my main source of feedback so when I revisit these stories in a year or two I will know what I need to change. Other than that I really hope you enjoyed the video and will stick with me for content that goes beyond the inFAMOUS series.
At 24:15 I thought that they did not know if the RFI would work or not. The point of the evil option wasn't just supposed to be a "haha I am the ultra super evil bad guy" it was supposed to be the cruel but proven point. Which is one of the reasons Cole take a second to decide which path to take (him dying had something to do with it of course but not all). I think Kuo even brings up during that cutscene that they do not know if the RFI will cure the plague or not. The Beast path at the end of 2 was the more realistic option. Though all of this is just my opinion and I can understand if you think I am wrong. Thanks for listening to my TED talk. Edit: I made this before the end of the video. Great video. The only thing that stuck out to me was Augustine using the gas on Delson in the final boss fight. It's a minor thing but I also feel like she wouldn't need to. In this timeline, Delson never would've had the chance to be corrupted by his powers, so he wouldn't really need to be convinced to go fight Cole and save the world. He went to fight Augustine to save his tribe even when people kept telling him not to, so he's a good enough kid by default. I also feel like having him be a mindless gassed up drone would take away from his character, which kinda defeats the purpose of having it be him at all.
regarding the original post, there's no such thing as the concept of 'corruption' - if you want me to elaborate further then just ask... 2ndly, your preconceived notion of Delsin not being succumbed to his outlet of the powers he'd receive is just a one-noted, and close-minded stance of what a Human shouldn't be as with supernatural powers...

Brother from the bottom of my heart I thank you, I know I dont speak for everyone as I dont like generalizong but I am absolutely grateful for people like you who keep infamous alivr with these amazing high effort quality stories, infamous and prototype are myfave games ever, the perfect gameplay for me would be an hybrid of infamous and prototype with god of war (1 to 3) melee combat upgrades and combos. I put a huge emphasis on prorotype because it has great mechanics and upgrades, like air dash upgrades, super jump and runing speed upgrades, durability, damage dealt, and many more upgrades and powers that would absolutely fit a franchise like infamous, they already embraced powers like wallrun and super jump in second son! so it only makes sense they expand upon it an add new stuff, second son melee was underwhelming, and I was never a fan of Cole using a fork instead of his bare hands and his gigawat blades

@@JPmoney99 I mean in these videos. In the Prodigal Son video, he's the main villain. In Aftermath, he's being controlled by Augustine. In this hypothetical sequel universe, you never get to play as Delsin or even see him portrayed in a good light
See now this is making Delsin justice. One thing tho is that I think that the gas is unnecessary since Delsin is already canonically good so I don't see why he wouldn't want to help save the world. Plus him acting cocky and throwing quips and jokes to hype himself up or fill out the silence (since Beast Cole wouldn't talk) would be better than just both being silent. I think it would make it more epic hearing Delsin be all hyped up at the beginning and then hearing him struggle throughout the battle more and more as his hp bar depletes, then get hyped again when he gets Cole's powers, all that good stuff. Plus, it would add even more to the contrast of him and the beast; while Cole is being silent and just rampaging with lighting and beast fire/magma-like powers, Delsin is filling the silence, talking shit to Cole for what he's done, hyping himself up and being the very definition of versatile with the sheer amount of powers he has. Also I think that there should be a "good" ending. Or at least a hopeful one. Where Delsin wins or the fight ends in a draw that kills them both. Since you said it'd be the hardest fight of the series then there could be something like a give up button or let Delsin win option that would lead to that ending Also also if Delsin is not mind controlled then we could see him in his normal or even true hero clothes. Just sayin'

Personally it would be so cool if Delsin's boss fight had a give up button on the retry section. It would only show up when Delsin shook Cole's hand and got the beasts power. When you would lose the boss fight there would be the retry button covered in dark red and now there would be a new give up button in light blue. When you pressed it a cutscene would play out as Cole would be lying on the ground from his injuries and Delsin finishing him off and shortly passing out. The cutscene would end with Augustine smiling. It wouldnt be a good ending mostly because all of the conduits would be imprisoned.
I think you would be able to get around Cole making conduits by saying Augustine used them all for experiments. Also a cool idea is that at the end Cole could maybe make a choice to destroy himself to save the world as like a final karma choice.
This was a very good video! I love how you brought back certain references/mechanics from the old games like reading minds, Sasha's gas, getting your mind taken over, etc. The way the story turned out was so chilling and so sad at the same time (especially the Kuo and Zeke parallel), and the Kessleresque ending was just the icing on the cake. Thank you for keeping this series alive with your videos and thank you Hunter for bringing them to life with your editing. Looking forward to see more content from you two! 👍

the main thing I would add is that at the very end you have a choice to either kill Delson or hold back at the last moment, thus allowing Delson to kill you and achive a different ending

Ay i've just now realized that cole can also read the mind of a dead person, because thats literally all he does in the 1st game, he never reads the mind of an alive one. But you could technically say that when he reads a dead one, it's only the very last moments, because that's how it is in the game, But since he got the power of the beast you could say that the ability has then since improved, even gone to that kessler level. so yeah kinda works, kinda doesn't still i think the idea of someone ending their life to stop a mind read is still brutal and shocking and an interesting concept.

One thing I never understood was why Cole never got a form of true flight. It seems like the next logical conclusion with movement abilities. At the very least he could fly for a minute or two. Like he's exercising his power and extending its potential.
Currently working on a fan-made short film following the events of inFamous 2's evil ending. The basic gist is that Zeke survived (I won't spoil how), and so he embarks on a journey to follow Beast Cole's trail. I'm very confident that my movie will be very narratively satisfying for inFamous fans.
I'm soooo happy you decided to make this! Me personally, I prefer the evil karma route simply because it makes your powers look wayyyyy cooler. Black and red lighting all the way.
Question, why don’t Augustine and the gang try to rebuild the RFI? Granted Cole would probably be the only one that could even use it, but wouldn’t the RFI still be the only solution for the plague.
When I remake this and Prodigal Son in the future I think I am going to make Augustine’s motivation that she wants to use Delsin to steal Coles power and use the RFI. That would be really cool and I totally should have thought of it for this video.
Cole should have become more made of energy as the Beast took over and at the end of the Delsin fight he tries to absorb Cole's powers in both endings and either way the Beast takes over Delsin who completely absorbed Cole. There is no winning for the good guy.
Idea! During the final delsin boss battle if you win you get the Cole destroyed the world as the beast ending. And if you lose you would get a “second son.” Ending. Where delsin working with Augustine in healing the world. Maybe even having delsin with coles powers activating a second RFI. Someone had a comment saying delsin wouldn’t NEED to be mind controlled and I agree. If he had his free will and a “good” Augustine would want to do the right thing. Which is. To have a second chance of killing the beast.
The only thing i could ask for now from you would be an Infamous Prodigal Son turned Evil, and Imfamous Aftermath turned Good, i would really like to see how you would go about doing that.
I wont lie, i sadly just don't really care for the idea of everyone just betraying cole. Cause i can imagine some of them not being happy if they learned about the RFI. But i can also imagine a ton of them being thankful for being saved still because the RFI would have just killed every conduit.(as far as they were aware) I do know there has to be a big villains for cole to foght and having super strong conduits be it. But id honestly rather it be some conduits that have rebelled against cole making more sense to me. But overall great video and i do appreciate all your work.
Well if you recall sucker punch wanted to originally make the 3rd installment about the evil ending to infamous 2 but over 75% did the good ending on first play through
This is awesome to an extreme, my only thing would’ve been adding a side ending where you can play as Delsin as a last minute make the right choice ending, and have it be a fully upgraded delsin with all kinds of crazy bonus powers

The problem with infamous is the plague, is a dumb idea. The fact that conduits are basically toxic for non conduits make impossible a good ending. In Infamous 2 you ended up killing al conduits and all people with potential to be conduits around the world as a "good ending" and killing all normal humans without potential to be conduits as a "bad ending". This kill the franchise because you can only use the bad ending to move forward and the worst part is that is not even the only way. In the infamous 2 you see at least 2 different forms in create new conduits without the beast. The organic guy could change people without a failling ratio, which mean that If you use him as a base to manipulate people, you could change all humanity and get rid of the plague. The concrete woman in second son also has similar abilities. And with Delsin is even easier to pull of. In the real word the scientist would research why some people achieve powers with the same radiation that kill the others, and then would develop a cure for the plague. Something like that would help the game, because the only options the game give you is kill yourself and millions of inocents lives or billions of inocent lives, and thats moral bullshit.
I feel like what would be cool is for the final battle between Delsin and Cole it would be cool if the players got the choice to pick who they want to play for that battle and because of that there are two endings
I gotta credit you. Your explanation for Kessler's future fixes what is, IMO, the single biggest problem in the series (other than being Playstation Exclusive). Thank you. I'm gonna consider John going nuts from the power of The Beast as canon now.
I want to say that Cole choosing not to use the RFI in InFamous 2 isn't a pure evil decision. It's much more nuanciced. Cole isn't comically evil in InFamous 2, like he was at the end of 1. The entire RFI was very theoretical in nature, the Dead Drops from 2 of the Doctor have him basically say as such, Hell, the fact that there are conduits post InFamous 2 is proof that the RFI wasn't the guarantee end all be all like was intended, all that they knew for sure was that it was killing the conduits near the device. There is no guarantee for them that it would cure the plague, and even if it did, which it does. What was the stop another person to make another Ray Sphere (which even happens in your story) to create new future conduits and then reignite the plague. Now with no one to save them by awakening the conduit gene in people. There are no guarantees in that future. Awakening all conduits who are immune to plague is a cure, it is a guarantee. A horrible one, due to how many people will die, but sometimes good men need to make bad choices for the betterment of the world.
Sometimes the world is full of risks. Some are worth taking and the other is not, not to mention: The First Sons are the only groups in the world to create the Ray Sphere due to advance and superior technology, the story here even states that the Government borrowed from their technology. Plus I would rather live in a world where the RFI was activated and not an Apocalyptic wasteland where the Beast lost control & is destroying everything in it's path.
Who's to say that in the world of Infamous, they would have created a cure for the Plague at some point in time once their technology had advanced like the First Sons.

Now i know you don't wanna do an inFamous stuff anytime soon, but since it'll be halloween, i had an idea of a second son halloween spinoff like festival of blood or something like that. This is fantastic, for me personally i’ll also want the evil ending of 2 to be canon and continued in future games rather than second son and second son sequels. But both prodigy son and this is really good keep it up. I wouldn’t mind if you did a prototype 3 story idea but thats up to you.
the only good idea is the removal of the 'karma path' that does indeed limit what the writers best intention for the intended stories that garner over the inFAMOUS games (the infamous path in each inFAMOUS games are substantially better written and prioritised than the 'Good' karma paths), but despite this... its pretty much the only good idea out of the 'prodigal son' video and just spews out generic fallacies for what the RU-vidr deems is best... but for a next inFAMOUS game, i don't think the karma path should just be dwindled away to have a preconceived storyline that follows just a mere basis of what a story should be as, it still should abide with choices and different paths while still following that preconceived notion of the over-arching story you'd want for the character you're playing as... the system should follow the lengths to what Prototype goes for not having a direct 'system' but a form of a mere catalyst that strings along as you play, with a bit of Dishonored and Manhunt 2, where in both of these games, things do alter in juxtaposition to what you do via the progression through the game... with Manhunt 2, the initial draft for how a player would get an altering path is how much they'll do in regards to the scoring system via offing ppl and that can vary with any types of fellow humans, however the next inFAMOUS game shouldn't directly follow to what Manhunt 2 did, but just follow that idea and expand it in its own way...

I was thinking that you have your two choices but aren’t directly labeled as good or evil. Just choices that give you a reputation. Also was thinking that your powers and missions arnt karma locked either. I haven’t played them but fallout 3 and new vegas as good allegories for what im talking about. I heard in fallout 3 its good or evil karma system. But fallout new vegas has a reputation system for each faction and group of people.

It's easy to nitpick stuff but this works as the power trip destroying the world story. I'd personally would like more inner conflict with Cole about becoming the very thing he so desperately tried to stop as Kessler and himself and the loss of everyone he's cared for and the regret he carries knowing one simple choice could have changed everything but I feel like a dlc wouldn't do that idea justice as a full game would.
Parralel after parralel and they’re awesome everytime. Prodigal Son and the Aftermath would be a true end to the series and a nice send off. That being said I had an idea for possibly Another dlc for Prodigal Son that would focus on Delsin’s story between Second Son and Prodigal because looking through the comments people have a good point. That being that all this content has revolved around Cole, but he’s not the only main character. Delsin deserves to have his own gameplay and small story if this is indeed the end of the InFamous franchise. Just to tie up the fan service in a neat bow and give everyone the chance to play as the multi-powered rebel again
I have a theory that the reason why John has a red jacket and his powers are red and fiery as the beast is because just as Cole he has karmic choices. Imagine if the beast became good and his powers were blue and instead of destruction it brought the opposite, life. Like instead of a molten red beast, it's a blue rocky beast with the same blue energy as the rays sphere instead of the energy coming off the beast as red
I have an idea for you if you ever change your mind about your infamous videos, Prodigal Son Cole versus Aftermath Cole through some dimension timeline shenanigans, but if you don't like that you could just like have a secret ending where the aftermath Cole ends up in the timeline of Kessler and is the beast that he was running from with his family.
I think what people like about the evil karmic choices is the fact that they are still justifiable, whether or not the choice is the right thing to do. What people don't like about some of the evil karmic choices is that some of the choices seem to be evil choices solely for the sake of being evil, lacking any real rhyme, reason, or justification. So, the players that prefer the evil playthrough may want to feel evil and be subjected to the result of their actions without feeling like the protagonist they're playing as throughout the story is making immoral choices just for the sake of an immoral persona.
It would’ve been interesting to see something like that one Hulk comic where Bruce Banner and The Hulk are the two last beings left on an post-apocalyptic earth but with Cole and The Beast, and that kinda did happen in this video Edit: but that would probably be better for a post game comic or something like that
I love the idea of this, but as some people have said, I don't think you would need Delsin to be mind controlled by Augustine. He is at least a little good in second son, so I have to imagine he would be willing to fight against Cole
A neet spin off from Infamous 2 and I think it doesn't need much story just decent story telling and great gameplay because either you meant as a sequel or a DLC for Infamous 2

I am not going to criticise this like Prodigal Son but I do want to say it was smart to go with one character.. See if the Karma system takes away then multiple characters definitely can do that much worse (Not saying you cant make it work but even a lot of top dog game developers struggle with making multiple characters so I think this was a smart call.. Also to the story, it seemed you had less time to make it so the small things that had the story seem... Weird I guess makes sense but also it was kinda obvious that its focus was action scenes and power trips.. I enjoyed the video and hope to see more content like this soon.. CX
I think a great way to make this work would be to make it so that he slowly becomes the beast. Like he gets the powers slowly over time. Not that he gets more evil.

I am not against it but I am also just simply more interested in Cole and his story. I think Delsin was done dirty and having him be a part of Coles story I think is more interesting although I think a game could be made with a balance between the 2.

The part of the video where you listed the things an evil infamous game needs, every last one of those things is what made the final evil mission in infamous 2 so amazing Furthermore I think this would be one helluva way to end the infamous series the world being destroyed entirely because you wanted to have some fun this definitely should be the last infamous game However I don’t think this should be a DLC game but should instead be its own full game instead.
I already made a comment on the other video mentioned at the start, but since the main game foccuses on the hero story, the dlc should foccus on the heroic antagonist's story as "cole the beast" is a pretty strong final boss, and is better than starting off overpowered and feeling no progression. I basically said that delsin is being targeted bc he is a conduit without his own power, so nobody thinks he is a conduit and they attack him. survivors like the smoke convict from second son, the crystal akomish guy who's name I cant remember from your other video, a new lightning character (for reasons stated in other comment), and nix (who would have a grudge against cole for destroying so many lives for more power, and would double cross him near the end to help you) or the origami killer (who would look up to cole's power instead of delsin's, thus you gain her power after killing/defeating her near the end). this last attack would be taken personally by cole, so now you have your set-up for cole still wanting him dead after finding out he's a conduit. since the main story is about cole (in which evil beast cole is LEAGUES stronger than good cole), delsin loses to cole and the player chooses, kill or spare. if you kill, delsin dies, cole dies years later of old age or by releasing a giant mass of stored energy, leaving his subordinates to divide the citizens and breed them to make stronger conduits and fight eachother's faction until there is a new ruler of "the new era". if you spare, cole takes and tortures delsin until cole dies, at which point he gives all of his power to the deranger, insane, schizzo, paranoid delsin, who sees cole's face on every body, and is constantly killing everyone he sees out of fear. in the end, cole dies and leaves the world in chaotic, desolate fear
an Idea that I have that is REALLY out there, I wont lie, is that if you lose against Delsin while he's at his last 10th of his Health(or lower), you have the option to see what would be different if THAT was how it would've ended. If DELSIN won. You can still just press try again or whatever and continue the fight starting from the point where Delsin first hit that 1/10th mark. (or 10%) Now I know this heavily clashes against the stated and given powerscales of the infamous verse, that's what makes this idea a REALLY, REALLY "OUT THERE" idea. Would still be very cool to see though
Look, I know Delson doesn’t hold a candle to Cole, and I understand why everybody hates this character, but this is the dirtiest I’ve ever seen him done. At least in the evil run you wrote, he had a modicum of agency, but this?
I actually agree with this and I think I should have done this differently but what I was going for was a vibe that Augustine went to horrific lengths to defeat the beast.

If you want to do the delsin cole thing it would probably not work as a dlc but it could work like how the yakuza series does it and it could even work with having them fight in random encounters like majima does where the loser just retreats
YOOO! What if you introduce like a 3rd character MC into this and base the story off of like an invisible 3rd neutral route for both Delsin and Cole. Then the main conflict is the two having a misunderstanding and trying to kill each other and your job is to basically keep either from killing the other.
Ok i got a GREAT IDEA for the delsin bosses (good and evil) the end of the batle is decided by a beam strugle, in PS delsin has smoke as his final phase and when he gets to 1% hp he does the nuke, then cole uses a lighting beam to stop him and thats when you have to spam a key, and for afthermat the same bit backwards, cole diving like a nuke into del
there is one way that karma can still exist and not affect the main story just the gameplay Evil karma can cause you to gain more attack stats and less health along with less blast core rewards while good karma can grant you more health and defensive stats and Blast core.
I'm a few minutes in I like the concept of how you said to show the consequencesI feel like you should keep the karma meterthen if you choose one side and the other the game changes on what choices you choose
So when I think of a game where we're playing is dark Cole I think about Kessler from Infamous 1 so why don't you have dark Cole destroyed the world and then go back in time to do it again like imagine dark Cole going back in time to the final Kessler fight and fighting both Cole and Kessler.
