I made the Magnetic Leather Keychain Thing from Pinterest 

Hey bud, you are the reason I got started about 2 years ago in leatherworking, I didnt know you have panic disorder, I have complex ptsd, panic, and just seeing you being able to work while you are in that mentality is HIGHLY impressive to me dude. Thank you for pushing my man.

I like the idea. I may try it with neodymium magnets for the wall part and a washer in the keychain so my pants don’t randomly stick to things. Also brass screw caps or even upholstery tacks as options for mounting. I think these could be a hot item at markets with some easy personal customization. Great vid and hope you get caught up on your sleep!

My sleeptime is exactly the same and it has always been a challenge until I started working from home for myself.

I made this magnet keychain using your AirTag template about a year ago and I LOVE it!

In our previous house I made a hole for a round magnet in drywall to side of a patio door and patched with plaster before repainting. Yes similar type magnet with center hole allowing for screw in center and epoxy). It worked. It occurred to me that in your previous videos your hands were precise, drew in one’s focus and above all were authoritative as they spoke to your audience (me at least). Then you as a person appeared and the self grooming and refining process began a-knew. Your still applying the polish to it all but I still hold the the idea, it’s better to know you. And yeah it’s a fun likable project you obviously enjoyed bringing together. I guess dreams can continue to evolve.

Hey, I'm loving your take on this, I've never considered having paired magnets. I've only ever considered having one magnet, and one magnet piece of material. IF you couldn't get paired magnets, which side of the field would you lie if the magnets should be in the keychains or on the "home" board? Arguments for having the magnets in the keychain: -You can attach it to any surface you can have a magnet on -May keep your keys together Arguments for having a strong magnet in the "home" board. -Won't mess with anything electronic (Think car key) -Won't pick up bits of metallic dust/debris(I would say adds negatively to patina) ESPECIALLY if you're prone to dropping your keys like me. -Slimmer profile than a magnet! -The magnetic-able material doesn't have to be in a disk only, so you COULD get some cut out especially to fit your design (Althought equally, you could just cut a circle out of a suitable filler so is a moot point) Would love to hear your thoughts - I'm down on having a strong magnet on the "home" board

I like this project. I would change a couple of things that would do the same thing with what I have without buying anything new.

Satisfying thud when they click into place

Glad to see someone else crank down too hard on a manual press. I can usually get the pressure right on the 1 1/4 in clicker dies, but I'm really bad with the thinner steel rule dies. I keep some needle nose pliers by my press in case I need to pull a die out of my cutting board. Haven't ruined a die yet thankfully.

Your stamp is your name with COR and under that TER is upside down. The snap is buffalo nickel. This is a cool idea, I’m neurodivergent and need stuff like keys wallet and other stuff, I need to walk out of the door with, in one spot. I have a basket now, but I’m adding this to my list because I think I can design one with all of that stuff hanging on the wall.

I think when I try this for a Christmas gift... I'm going to do a 9oz teardrop blank inside key fob to hide the magnet. And wrap the whole thing in American vachetta to patina nicely. Or maybe a 4-5oz keychain with magnet hole... hmmm....

What was the stiffener/anti-stretch material?

This is cool! Also, you and the cool old hippy who runs the Connecticut Tandy shop have convinced me to accept having a "mane" - with covid and everything, getting a haircut, or doing it myself was too much of a hassle. Felt bad about it for a while, but now I don't - two cool leatherworkers rock the mane, so why can't I? Probably be better when it gets long enough to tie back tho lol

Seems it would be better to put the magnets in the wall hanger and steel in the leather keychain. That way you aren’t sticking to everything under the sun and wiping credit cards, memory cards, and flash drives everytime you throw your keys on your desk

My sleep cycle is different also I will wake up after a couple hours work on my own projects go back to bed and off to the day job long term goal is to do leather craft full time

I would like to make this, but my idea would be with a piece of metal that the magnets stick to hidden between the leather. Sort of like how you have a magnetic knife bar in the kitchen.

So strange you mentioned postal service. I was just telling my wife how they used to be my favorite band and just stopped making music. I could never get into DCFC. Sorry to hear about your disorder. My wife struggles with panic attacks and we were just in Tokyo where there are about 15 million people (and they are everywhere). So I know how difficult it must be for you!

What does he use to stiffen up the part where the keychain folds? What is... 'beladon'?

Where did you buy the magnetic ?

Put a few more keys on and watch them fall to the floor, plus a magnetic keyring on a bunch of keys, how irritating would that be with all the keys stuck together?

the only bad thing about this key chain is if it gets near credit cards, phones and computers other than that it is cool.
