Hey folks! Funny that this is an audio video but I was having audio issues... you may notice some popping throughout the screen-recorded section. I unfortunately wasn't able to figure out what was causing it and am still looking for a solution for other videos that use screen recording through OBS. If you have any suggestions please let me know! Just wanted to make it clear that it isn't any of the mics, it is probably just a me problem 😂
@@bakihandemiryol2541 oh interesting! I think it has something to do with sample rate/bit rate/frame rate maybe? Only happens when I bring it into Final Cut Pro though so not sure xD
I just spent 3 hours changing my mic settings and placement and now thanks to you my audio quality is bringing tears to my eyes!!! This was so helpful ❤️
Am slowly getting into streaming video games and OBS etc. have been quite overwhelming. Thank you for helping me with the next step in journey. Your vibe and clarity are very welcome. Well done!!!
I really appreciate you for actually explaining what each filter does in a way someone with zero sound experience (like me) would understand. I have seen a lot of videos trying and failing to accomplish what you did in this one, thank you!! You deserve way more subs Kyashi!!
This works! I'm in a bit of a noisy environment. Played around with the plugins mentioned in the video, and managed to fix the peaking, warm and crisped it up a bit, and added a noise suppression filter to combat ambient noise and keyboard strokes. Very helpful. Thank you so much!
I don’t stream or post to RU-vid or anything like that which I’d need a nice mic setup for just casual gaming with some friends but I got a stand alone microphone primarily for meetings that I take from my home office, I really hated the way headphone mics and laptop mics sound in meetings and it’s really easy to misunderstand people. I didn’t want to spend a fortune so I bought the razer mini and this video was immensely helpful in making it sound like I spent a lot more. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
I was very surprised when I saw you have only 822 subs! I am not joking when I say that I was expecting to see 100,000+ when my eyes glanced over below the video haha. The quality, energy, consciseness (is this a word?), editing, everything is incredible, honestly. What a great channel, wow. Keep it up, with this quality, personality and editing, as long as you try and nail the algorithm, you will grow insanely fast. Best of luck!
Thank you SO much for this video. I've just bought the Seiren and a boom arm for some game streaming on Twitch in my limited free time. I typically hate my own voice so I've been anxious about talking on a stream, but after following your steps and making a few adjustments, I sound SO much better!
Im a musician so i have some experience in mixing: if you add the compressor after the eq its going to compress the frequencys that you just cut out too. I recomend EQing the sound again after the compressor. But great video!
you only have 882 subs??? bro the amount of effort you put into this video is insane, i really love the vibe and energy! you deserve a lot of love! - Also, very helpful video btw, answered 90% of my questions, thank you so much! ♥
Great content! Keep up the hard work! I made a comment on a short you made about the sm7b and how natural you sound, your voice sounds better than anyone ive ever heard on youtube on the sm7b. thats your mic lol
Couldn't find the channel after the name change, glad this vid popped up in recommended! Right as I'm trying a new mic too! Got myself an Epos B20 and there sure is a lot more to tweak than a modmic
Amazing! Happy you were able to find it again :) Appreciate the support. Apply these tips with your new mic and I am sure it will sound awesome! Also feel free to hop in the discord or a stream any time if you have any questions!
Hey i just bought one a few hours ago and haven’t even used it yet but I was wondering how many of these improvements I would able to do not on obs. I don’t stream but I want to make tweaks to both discord and in game voice chat on fivem rp. Love the video btw can’t believe you only have 800 subs!
another amazing video my friend def nice to see this come out so well and learn a few thing now all i need is a video on how to get rid of background noises since i have kids and my pc is in the living room when the kids are watching tv lol
0:20 That's not the Shure SM58 (from 1966), that's the Shure Beta 58A (from 1996, so 30 years later). It's a completely different microphone with a neodymium magnet, and it costs about twice as much.
any way to do equalization and compression outside of obs and applying it directly to the mic so it becomes an input device with all the tweaks applied to it making it easy to use in for example discord or other programs? I have a nt usb but ordered a siren mini v3 so was curious how to make the v3 sound better.
Thanks to you! I just got that siren too but what kind of arm is that? I also have a blue yeti but it's the old usb. Not usb to usb c. Will that make a difference?
2:01 also if youre using a condenser mic, you might want to switch to a dynamic mic instead. I switched from a budget condenser mic to a budget dynamic mic and it was night and day.
What boom arm do you use for the Siren Mini? I've had the Siren Mini for a while never but never found a boom arm it fitted on. Does the boom arm come with a pop filter as well or no?
You need an adapter for it to fit on most boom arms which is what I've had to use with ever one I've ever had with it! I am currently using the Blue Compass at one desk and an Elgato LP Mic Arm at another, have used cheaper amazon ones too, all need the adapter! I think its 5/8 to 3/8 adapter?
it's only working on stream ? like if i want to setting up the sound voice for discord or teamspeak can i do it on OBS too ? or maybe there is another software to use?
hi don't you guys noticed a tick noise that appears times to time in the whole video for example in 4:30 .I have this annoying noise in all of my records would you pls tell me what's wrong? is it from my mic? cause I have seiren mini too or is it from adobe premier or even the obs I dont know . by the way great video kyashi keep the good work up
Hey thanks so much! Sorry it is an issue with my video. Essentially the video codec from OBS didn't like my video editor (final cut) so it caused that weird ticking when I exported it :(
Thank you for this beautiful video, my problem is related to background noise, the microphone is very sensitive, it picks up the slightest sound excessively, and even if the noise suppression filter on the obs works, my breathing sounds are still heard at an ear-hurting level. Do you have any suggestions? for razer seiren mini.
Since the Razer seiren mini is a condenser mic it is going to pick up more detail and more background noise. Breathing is def a hard thing as you're likely breathing right into the mic. I would suggest having it off axis a bit so it's not directly in front of your mouth so it might not pick up as much. another option would be to turn the gain down and talk a bit louder so the breath isnt picked up as much but your voice still is! hopefully that helps
So, when I speak normally, and I play it back, it sounds really quiet, but when I speak loudly, it picks up the crackles of my voice and it hits the red threshold frequently. Any tips on fixing this? My windows setting is at 75 btw
I opted to have the mic off axis enough to reduce the plosives but it definitely could benefit from one! Using a standard pop filter for streaming blocks your face a lot though and I didnt have a windscreen that fit it
No mic will sound similar to these while being that far away. Your closest bet is a long shotgun mic but those can be very expensive. Another option could be to wear a lapel/lavalier mic although the quality isn't as good but sounds like you're going to be struggling with that no matter what.
which mic are you using? sometimes it depends on the direction of the mic but some general tips would be to make sure the mic is close to your mouth so you dont need the gain up as high, make sure the keyboard is on the opposite side of the mic so that where your voice gets picked up isnt picking up the keyboard as much, and lastly would be to use a noise gate but you need to make sure the settings are set right! Dynamic mics are best for a more directional sound so it picks up less of the surrounding
I'm debating on the Razer Seiren Mini ($50) vs Audio-Technica ATR2100x-USB ($78). One thing I don't like about the ATR2100x, is the plosives are absolutely insane and so pronounced. It'll be mostly for gaming but I would also like to use for WFH conf calls as well from time to time on Microsoft Teams. What say ye? I could just order both on Amazon and return the one I dislike more.. o_O
Hi! Is there anyway that I would sound good in discord or any other platform? I would also want to sound better using my Seiren Mini on calls. I thought there would be synapse connection for seiren mini to let me fix the eq, etc.
I think you can use something like Voicemeter for that but not 100% sure. Def focus on getting right mic placement and such first but hopefully you can apply some of those things :)
yo ty so much for replying lol, tbh Im super greedy and I dont wanna buy a mic stand that wont fit my monitor or that wont be properly installed, which safe option should I go for@@just_kyashi
I wasted my time with a big youtuber and a 20 minutes video that explains nothing and can be done in 3 minutes lol.. Really wonder why he has 222k and you dont. Heres my support!
you have a lot of good information, you don't have to clickbait like that :) there is just no getting over the fact that the seiren mini sounds really sibilant, but i feel like this can be helpful to new streamers or video makers
@@gxvault4166 i just listened a little bit of the video back with speakers and it was fine, but with good headphones there is a big difference in the sound
Sorry i thought I replied to this! Probably some sort of shotgun is best - but most mics are NOT made for distance if you want a close up sound, if you keep it at a distance you will sound different than either of these mics
