I've never had any issues with Liquid Glass. You have to be sure to let those thin epoxies cure slowly and keep them cool. I love the stool though. It turned out super cool!

Well that certainly made a refreshing change from all the autumn flower arrangement thingies i've seen lately. I hadn't cottoned-on to the epoxy part so was slightly peturbed by the decorations (most peeps would just add a cushion) but it turned out brilliant! Any 'imperfections' just add to it's charm and it was well worth your stress! 😊😊

Great videos! Got a fan and subscriber in the UK 👍. Would love to see a video of your top must have tools for the workshop and your favourite tools to use and a workshop tour. A lot of people I see working with resins (mainly wood turning videos) let them cure under pressure which helps to remove the bubbles and imperfections. Maybe there's a diy pressure chamber you could build? Looked like that project really ground your gears! Looks cool though, great idea!

Tapping....helps release bubbles. Even if your tapping the table you are pouring on... But i love your videos and hell yea i would sit on that stool!

Protip…Toothbrushes work well for splattering…& not as painful haha. Plus you can pick them up at the dollar store & just toss it out when done.

Just found your channel, love it! Very informative. You mentioned leaving any tips in comments, and Ive painstakingly gained some useful tips on epoxy and wood pouring over the past decade of trial and error. The errors being notable, (new floors, new kitchen sink, new countertops, multiple lathes, a garage fire and a angry cat whom had I had to shave). 1. Most 2 part epoxies are not designed to be poured at a depth more than 2". The heat it generates from chemical reaction can't escape (upwards) so in real bad conditions it will boil and froth (completely destroying the project) and possibly melt container. I've mixed 5 gallons to dispose of and it completely melted bucket. I've heard it can start fires. Also air bubbles will get trapped. To get around this is a task, but it is very possible (I often pour 15" deep) -of the two parts place the more viscous (usually part B) bottle into a sink of hot tap water for 20 min prior to pour. Not boiling, just hot tap water. - when mixing, pour down the side of mixing vessel, much like a seasoned bartender pours a draft beer. -use a paddle bit in a drill or a paint mixer for larger amounts. TAKE CARE to NOT submerge and resurface paddle bit while it's spinning. The goal is minimal air bubbles.. Clock is now ticking (prep is crucial) Stool top w/mold should be placed in an ice bath (A vessel larger than the stool top which is filled with ice and water. Helpful tip is to place the mold in vessel before adding ice and water. Otherwise water can spill over into your fresh epoxy pour when set down into ice bath). I often place wood in a chest freezer overnight prior to pour. -always pour more/deeper than needed. The level will go down as it gets into tiny cracks and such 45 min later.. - place ice bath vessel into a pressure pot 60-100 p.s.i. for 24 hrs. Sleep soundly knowing you've done everything you could to make it perfect. The large bubbles along sides are inevitable, however they can be fixed.. If you want to know more, I'd be happy to relay the wisdom. (Polishing down to .5 micron diamond paste. Wood mirror) I actually need your advice on how to accomplish a cut. Think your stool top, however it's egg shaped (ish), 18" diam at longest point, and 8" thick. Basically an old cracked tree stump. Filled all cracks w/epoxy then cut a slab. It's a small table top. Prob is it's too thick. I'd like to split it making two 4" thick tops. I need the cut to very close to level. I have a band-saw and chainsaw. Thinking the old time two person hand saw is what's needed or a contact at a sawmill. Any thoughts? Hey on your sandpaper use what I call a scrubber.. search sand paper cleaner stick and several come up. It takes all that off and will save you tons of paper.

WOW, that was a ride. After seeing you sanding the entire surface down, making it look all hazy, then pouring the final coating on, and voila .... it came back to life! I don't care about the imperfections! Great idea! I don't have anything to add ... but perhaps Joe Diresta may have had some tips and tricks videos that talked about working with epoxies.

Curious, why not make a quick circle jig for either your bandsaw or router? Would have saved cutting and the risk of going too deep on your saw cuts. Probably save some sanding too. Just a thought. New to your videos, found some good ideas.

At some point after the 2nd pour the epoxy went from ambient 75° to 250° in the matter of 2-3 minutes and hardened instantly. It happens sometimes

I sealed a bark scorpion and a tarantuls in epoxy. I hope to do a mojave green rattler one day. Problem is it won't look right with its head blown off. That's the only way I will touch them.

You could have siliconed around the base before the pour looks cool mate

@6:10 what is the white stuff you are putting on? Also, what goes on the wood first, to stop the epoxy from seeping in?

There's a company on RU-vid called Stone Coat Countertops you might want to check out. Perhaps it was the brand of epoxy you used? Anyway, Stone Coat makes it look easy and their projects always seem to come out awesome every time. Infact, check out their Epoxy Coffee Bean Table video. Pretty sweet. One thing I like about them is they show you step by step.

I used to make fabricated marble. We would pour some goo, turn on a table vibrator to get all the little bubbles to the surface ( or bottom of the vanity), would that be doable with the epoxy? Either way, the stool looks great.
