SHELL CHALLENGE RULES:
1. Download the shell off my gallery "lilsimsie"
2. Turn it into anything you want! It doesn't have to be a house
3. DO NOT TOUCH MY WALLS. You can change and add anything you want, but you cannot move or remove any of the exterior walls. The "shell" of the build must remain.
4. This means you can add foundations and platforms, change wall height, move the lot, rotate the lot, add furniture, add interior walls etc.
5. Upload to #SimsieBigMistake on the gallery when you're done!

I find the lack of diagonal stairs the most frustrating part of this challenge. Mine is coming along slowly. I put that nonsense in Strangerville where crazy builds belong 😂 My skills are horrible

Off topic: I wish we could add interior decorators to the “hire a service” option in the Sims 4. Like if I’m too lazy to renovate the house my Sims just moved into, it would be so cool to hire an interior decorator to do that for you!

I'd love to see you do a "random wallpaper challenge," sort of like the random color challenges, where you build a home, layout the rooms, but then, for each individual room, you are given a random wallpaper you have to design the room around. You can be kind and let yourself choose the swatch, but wouldn't it be funny to get one of those really weird wallpapers and have to design around it? Plus, for at least one stream, you won't have to listen to people telling you to put wallpaper in over and over again.

I tried to renovate the base game gym from oasis springs it’s on a diagonal couldn’t get stairs to work. Got rid of it and made a spa.

I did a neat trick in getting my roofing to work because my version is based off a vampire/Victorian style so I took inspiration from other roofs I seen.

If you wanted to have your chat also have their own cards, there’s a website online that lets you make your own and generate a bunch and then you can link it. I think it’s bingo baker or soemthing. I know that Jarvis Johnson uses soemthing for his stream if you want to see what he uses! For suggestions I say- Lot is in henford on bagley Sectional couch Planter boxes

OMG MINE WAS AT THE TOP OF THE GALLERY WHEN SHE RECORDED THIS VIDEO Mine is the Japanese one the Lilixtar!!! I'm so happy, I don't even care if sissies isn't able to tour it, just seeing it now already made my day hahahahahah I'm so embarrassed, I was so sick I forgot to change the name to Japanese Apartments Complex as intended. bingo card ideas: • entertainment room? some objects that could be fun to include: the 3D motionmonitor gaming mat, darts board, the foosball table, the button smasher 9001, cards table, DJ booth, karaoke machine, bubble blower, ping pong table) • a greenhouse • a sauna or other spa items could be fun • basketball court • dance floor • an aquarium (i never have those in my builds) • a treehouse for the kids

What I love about Simsie's builds is that most of them are so realistic and pretty, yet very usable in the game itself. So many builds look absolutely magical, but are exclusively meant for looking at.

Just finished mine!! Honestly so proud of what I came up with - went with a funky, modern nightclub and I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever built. I never go modern and I never build community lots, this really got me out of my usual build habits. Loved it, super fun one!

this is unrelated to the topic of the video but i just want to show my appreciation for the not so berry challenge. thank you so much for creating that. i went years being so bored and uninspired with actual sims gameplay, i tried a normal legacy challenge and just got bored really quickly because i couldn’t really think of my own ideas. but then i started a not so berry challenge and the stricter guidelines gave me more of a goal and it changed the game for me!! i’m already on generation 7/8 now and i’ve deviated from some of the guidelines at certain points but it has been so fun!

In a perfect word, we'd not only have diagonal stairs, but we'd also be able to place our builds so they face any way we want them too on a freely rotating circle so the windows & views would line up where we want them.

Dream home for me is a gothic stick-style or Queen Anne Victorian mansion with a multistorey library and fibre arts studio in the tower, and beautiful stained glass windows, set back in the woods with a 12 horse stable, pastures, and indoor and outdoor riding arena. I will be lucky if I can ever afford 600sqft of my own. This world is absolutely unsustainable. Even the smallest dreams are impossible.

I think piranha ponds and graves should be on the bingo card. Same with maybe some paintings or ways of furnishing/decorating/landscaping you use a lot? I think a lot of us are inspired by how you do your builds. Even more than we ourselves realize. Oh, maybe inaccessible rooms and jail cells too? Jim Pickens vibes, you know.

Assign every wallpaper a number and use a number generator to pick a wallpaper for a room. Do the number generator again for the swatch. Then do this process for every room! Might encourage you to step out of your comfort zone.

For modern build inspiration, I'd honestly look at Minneapolis/Saint Paul. There are quite a few around here and they tend to be fairly inviting looking, actually! Lots of swedish modern stuff because of all the scandanavian history in the area

Idea for a video: reviewing the builds that stand out in your mind that you are proud of. Mine is a house that was meant to be a starter, but turned into $80k with a grandparent’s suite in the basement. I love how that basement turned out. Aesthetically it was built in the 70s or 80s then never updated.

My dream home would take inspiration from industrial lofts like exposed brick and steel beams. I love modern architecture but it can feel cold. So I would bring warmth with colours like green and burnt orange. I dream about green kitchen with red exposed brick. I also love art and antique. So, I would have art everywhere and some antique pieces.

That the half gabled diagonal roof wouldn’t be one tile on the vertical slope was annoying - the smallest it would go is 2 tiles, so the roofing that I originally wanted on the second floor leading to the third wouldn’t work. The stairs actually were less of an issue than the dang roof because I had a vision that just would not come together and I didn’t want to let it go. I’m happy with how it came in the end, but I think I might do it again without a preconceived vision for the roof.
