@JamesGarwood
@JamesGarwood 4 года назад
Haha, yes it was probably that ratio in the end 😂 thank you, just try it on what you have! I made my first 200 pens on a £60 lathe that needed a g clamp to hold the tail stock together and a £30 tabletop bandsaw that I would still use if the top wheel hadn't sheared off a couple of years ago, I think I used my old lathe on the 500 segment pen video before I got my new one

3:08 Whaat? Did you just cut the rectangles into squares just to glue them back together into rectangles? I don`t get it.
@ericdow11
@ericdow11 4 года назад
He did that to increase the number of vertical layers. The piece he started with was short and wide with horizontal lines, the pieces he ended up with were skinny and tall with horizontal lines.
@BVDAIM
@BVDAIM 4 года назад
To multiply the layers by cutting out the horizontal he could make it longer/more layes oooo oo oo o o o o He made the wide go to the long if you can get it.

Over 400 times! it took hours to get it just right, it landed the right way up about 3-4 times and that was the best one 😂

@@Thoron_of_Neto if you look I paused for about a second before I remember what I was going to do next after the bottle lands lol! And an extra Easter egg for everyone, there was a bloody airplane flying over my house as this landed (just my luck!) which ruined the audio so had to use the audio from another successful flip for this video 😁🥚

I was reading down the comments and noticed a lot of people thinking it is super glue. Message to all: The glue needs the glue catalyst to create the chemical reaction. It is way better than super glue because it can soak in and when you add the catalyst to it it changes the molecular structure to become a solid (Simple Chemistry). I would imagine probably no layers of skin were loss:)
