@@enj0ytherideCongratulations! Came down here to say that Vaati's gameplay looks so good that I'd mistake it for a TAS, but I can't miss giving you props too since this boss gnawed through me like wet paper for a good bit 🥲
First timers: "Where is he? Where is he?? I can't see him! Lock on doesn't work!!" This Balteus: "Where is he? Where is he?? I can't see him! Lock on doesn't work!!"
did you do it and the stage run in 1 go or did you retry for this until you got it from a checkpoint? It doesn't make it less impressive but I am very curios.
@@asksalottle220 Oh definitely from the checkpoint - doing it all from the beginning would be too tedious. Besides, Sulla is probably even harder than this with Chapter 1 parts.
Thank you! And yeah once I finally figured out this setup I knew it might be possible. The final key was figuring out how to reliably avoid his phase change at half health where he spams machine gun and missiles.
@@VaatiVodya yeah that part seems super hard to avoid. Can’t wait to see more of your journey S-ranking all the missions. This is my first armored core game and I had a blast doing it myself, I probably wouldn’t have tried for S-ranks without your first two vids on it though so thank you
@@jackcarlson4358 yeah, I think experiencing that would literally make me die from stress like a tropical insect brought online by an overambitious hobbyist
The weapon swapping is WAY better than I ever imagined: that shotgun/bubble blasting combo is unreal. And those dodges were sick. Absolutely next level piloting
@@schminke89give it some time, i bet someone will do it, i mean to be fair ive only made it halfway through chapter 3 but from what ive seen, its doable. 🤣🤣
Congrats on the kill! Also, thank you! After seeing your no damage video I thought "If he can take NO damage....I can atleast beat these fights with damage right?" So I overcame my fear and bought AC6. Then after seeing your S-Rank videos I got over the idea that S-Ranking is super hard. Yesterday I platinumed the game! Thank you very much for showing that games like AC6 and Elden Ring are more approachable then people make them out to be!
Watching this felt like the very common moment in a FromSoft game where all the emotions have left me, and only the need to succeed is left to control my inputs. Great job getting it done!
Seriously though. One minute I'm fuming, the next try he's down to a third and I still have all heals and 95% hp, then I'm like "Holy shit is this it?! What happened!?" Then he was dead. Didn't even realize I was getting better at the fight.
I felt that against the Ibis series fight. Stuck for three days, finally beat it, realize I missed a hidden part, replayed the level and got S rank by accident.
I challenged my friend to "How many times can I beat Balteus from a new game before you can beat him from the start of his boss battle?" The answer was 4.
@@hhjhj393 It's still a difficult thing to do, even when you've perfectly theory crafted it. Humans have a variable execution, they can flub and make mistakes, while the AI always executes what they do perfectly.
I cant imagine the hours he spent between the boss fight and the assembly tweaking the weapon loadout, boosters, generators etc. just to find the PERFECT build. Props for sure. Kudos even
@@IWantToStayAtYourHouse I genuinely think this is more skillful. Ongball is very creative with what he styles a boss with, but vati just made this look clean in my opinion
Incredible display of technical skill and knowledge! I also noticed that you named one of your AC's Gypsy Danger. I love that Pacific Rim reference 😂 I named my main Loadout Striker Eureka, and my second Cherno Alpha
God I love this game so much. I wasn’t planning on getting all the achievements, but today I actually finished S ranking all the missions. I think I'm going to end up going this route and just beating all the bosses without getting hit because I just need MORE.
Hey Vatti, Armored Core 1 hidden parts guy here. I'm glad you're loving Armored Core and I'm impressed with the level of skill you have in this game. You truly are, a Raven.
WOW that's insane! I was just replaying the fight while going through NG+ and still barely got through it. Ultralight AC's sure look really fun, and really dang effective with how you managed to dodge the chaingun bursts wotjpit getting tagged
Beautiful. God, this is inspiring and cathartic- after taking a few hours to finally beat this boss for the first time myself, seeing that this is possible just makes me giggle.
damn i got so hyped by your gameplay that i applauded at the end , amaizingly done, cant even imagine how many tries it took to perform this master class o:
Hey, another mechanic that I just learned about from someone else's video is that when assault boosting, *_you can actually make 90 degree quick turns left or right, while still maintaining the assault boost, instead of just the dodging left or right while still locked pointed in the same direction._* It's the same way you use the Quick Turn when you get that particular OS upgrade. Another tip when trying to actually do the Quick Turn ability, (while AB'ing or not) don't try and time the pressing of the "Boost" button/key (boost, not quick boost) and the turn at the same time. You can just hold the boost button down and press any of the ASD keys, or flick the left analog stick left, right, or back on controller. You can just hold the boost button down and do many quick turns consecutively. I basically wasn't using the boost button at all before, but now I'm already thinking of ways to incorporate this into some techniques lol. It may not be all that helpful for mouse and keyboard players if your sensitivity is high enough, you can just spin around with the mouse and the sort of automatic quick turns will turn your AC. But for us using the controller (even on PC like me lol) it might give us a reason to actually use the Quick Boost OS upgrade. I've seen most people say it's not worth it in this game, and for the most part they're correct because the turning is easier than in previous AC games, but I imagine the fast 180 could still come in handy. Imagine needing to put some distance between you and an enemy so you quickly 180, AB out of there, and do another 180 to face them again. Idk, seems like that could be handy. EDIT: I just tested this out in-game and *_you can actually do a Quick Turn 180 to cancel the AB lol._* I was canceling with the jump button then doing another 180 QT, now I've discovered I don't need that extra step. I haven't heard about this technique, much less even seen anyone use it, but it's possible. Now there are 4 ways to cancel the AB. Kick, hard stop (S on the Keyboard or pull back on left stick), the normal cancel with the jump button, and now the Quick Turn 180! 🤯
Can’t get over how much I love this game. Was never really into this genre but now i can’t get enough. It’s hard but fair and i love figuring out if my troubles are strategy based or build based. I feel like the boss fights are less exhausting than other FromSoftware games.
Also if you haven’t been checking out Ongbal… he’s been up to his normal batshit insane no-damage runs on here and they’re pretty intriguing! Like using the hands-only feature and having double melee weapons so you can melee swap melee swap melee(as the first is charged by the time the second is finished using. Pretty wild and cool stuff
I actually only did it because I was scared of those missiles coming down and hitting me. So I used it to try and cancel out the missiles but killed him instead luckily
