The child support makes no sense. They would go by her pay not his. So thats fishy. The ex husband was abusive. How do i know. My son thinks being grounded is abusive. He thinks no one can give him consequences. This is because my ex husband was highly abusive. He see healthy behavior as abuse. He is getting help.

My absolutely crazy step mom was an abusive PSO for the entirety of when she was in my life. I want to cut her and my dad off. Let me explain. She would verbally abuse my dad and me, then even my little brother (her son) after he was bore. She would stick him on a table so she didn't have to deal with him. When he tried to play with me and actually interacted with things, she would yell at me to get away from him. She would always find things to yell about. She started to threaten to kill my dogs and let my bird out of the house on purpose. My dad and i love my bird. Not only that, when my little brother was a baby, she ripped him away from me when i was just holding him and acting cut my arm up doing so, no apologies or anything. She is the type of person who thinks she is above everyone. Now my dad was no saint. He was also very abusive because of his drinking problem, and i would be the one to deal with it. I do blame my step bitch for his drink as she did very much make him unhappy and he turned to that, but im not letting him off the hook for such little self control. I left the day after fathers day last year and moved in with my soon to be husband. I honestly can't bring myself to cut him off because he isn't a bad person, but I have so much trauma from everything he has done to me. My husband tells me i should also understands why im conflicted as he has met my dad and actually likes him and is conflicted as well because of what he did. Anyone have any advice?

I actually had my own mother do the same to me... when I turned 18 and asked about it she said "Oh your father spent it all." Turns out she did and spent everything on her own medical bills and shopping addictions instead of penny pinching for a bit and trying to grow her own veg for a while to save money to pay off her debts that way. By the time my father was forced to retire he only managed to get $14k back in there. I never saw a dime of it though.

@maryamshaaban74
@maryamshaaban74 Год назад
Oh my dad did (and does) the same. Where I come from, parents are the ones responsible for their kid's college funds because almost all jobs require a college degree. Even if the job isn't related to what you studied, being someone who graduated implies hard work, a good sense of responsibility therefore you're more likely to act similarly in a work field. My mom had saved some money for me since I was a toddler, but my dad took it all out very early on and obviously paid nothing back. And all those years, he never saved up for my college, he'd always pay all the money he saved on his mom and siblings, he bought my spoiled aunt her furniture and kitchen ware for HER house after marriage, would pay off her debts and would cover the living expenses of his mother and brother who's too lazy to work. He has 3 sisters and 2 brothers and he's the only one to cover the expenses of his mother's living. Last year, after I had no place to stay at in a foreign country for more than a week, having to sleep in the street through snowstorms and being raped because of it, I discovered my dad had enough money to pay for my living expenses for almost 5 months, but he sent all the money to my rotten aunt. I've been home for 2 years now, unable to continue my education because whatever money he saves he uses to fly to see his family annually, buying multiple gifts for everyone, including my aunts children AND grandchildren. I tried to work and save money myself but when I saved some he said he needed it, took it ALL and denied taking anything from me. It happened again and again and each time he wouldn't pay me back because he lost so much money raising me over the years, so whatever amount of money he owes me would never equate to the money he paid for me, so I'm actually the unappreciative person here. When I didn't give him any more money, he stopped me from working or going out in general

I have no words for the idea that they thought this was a funny prank. Also slashing his tires is not funny either. How much money did he have to put out to get or fix the tires. Letting the air out would have at least left him with good tires still. Can you just imagine what they would do to him at the bachelor party. This! Asthma literally kills. How else do you punish the family that refused to listen to you when you told them to not prank your future husband?! Recently, a few 11 year old boys got turned in for slashing peoples tires among other things. Like, 100+ people affected. All four tires, a swimming pool, a trampoline.. They broke glass bottles in an alleyway. They spray-painted derogatory things onto sidewalks, fences, cars/license plates, and trampolines. None of that was a prank. I just dont get how police can find that as a criminal act but OPs family acts like shes overreacting and needs to calm down. That her fiancé is a baby etc.

For the first sibling story, I actually knew a family that went through the same situation but even crazier. The mother (American) met the father (British) in Europe when she was on vacation. Their children had a lot of issues and they started testing and such. Turns out the wife's father had an affair in Europe when he was station there in the military and the wife found her one half sibling all the way in Eurpope and fell in love. Those odds are insane.

I genuinely disagree with your guy's take on the OP who called out her friend for stealing her essay. Colleges take plagiarism very seriously. If this "friend" got away with submitting OP's essay and if the OP wrote an essay of her own for an application, what if OP herself got accused of plagiarism because her "friend" submitted something similar first? Plus OP talked about how the things she wrote are very personal to her. If the "friend" was asked about the essay and to elaborate, it's not even her real experiences or her right to talk about them because she never lived through them. OP did the right thing and is not an asshole. If she was actually smart and deserved that scholarship and seat in that college, that "friend" would've known better than to steal someone else's hard work.

She's going to be going to college (well... maybe not after this 👍) and isn't a child anymore and shouldn't be treated with kiddie gloves. Real life has real consequences. I might also consider sending a warning to the other schools she'd applied to just in case she'd tried it there too... but I will admit that I'm very scorched earth with people who have wronged me badly enough and my own college essay was an extremely personal and difficult thing for me to submit. I'd be pissed that someone just used it so thoughtlessly to get what they wanted.

Was coming here to talk about this. We're 'naturally" (from an evolutionary standpoint) drawn to and attracted to similar features in others. People who grew up together during a certain young age (I can't remember the numbers, but think 2-6 years old) the brain sort of marks those people as "not viable", and so we just don't register attraction with them. I've heard several stories about family members who only met after they were both adults, and feeling overwhelming physical attraction, bc they never had that familial bond while one/both of them was growing up. It's not love at first sight, but it is physical lust, and can be quite confusing and jarring if you know this person is related to you, but you find them extremely attractive.
@captainmorguen3431
@captainmorguen3431 Год назад
That theory is called GSA or genetic seggsual attraction. You can look it up. And it's widely used by ppl who enjoy the "Lannister stuff". But it has had zero confirmation from the general scientific community. None of it has been proven. Some actual researchers downright call this theory "pseudoscience". But still it's quite interesting to look into... I mean... if you can handle the genuine disgust... Some of those ppls stories are extremely sick and gross...

In regards to the story about the son stealing the heirloom ring - the girlfriend is clearly mentally unstable, and possibly suffering from some personality/narcissistic disorder. I mean the mom was kinda shit too, OKOP kinda glossed over it but the mother basically admitted that she and her new husband were living well outside of their means by subsidizing their lives with the child support payments. Those payments are meant for the kid, not her and her new boy toy. Also tbh while I agree that consequences may have been in order, there's absolutely no way you're going to take hundreds of actual dollars from a teenager who's never seen that type of money as well as thousands of dollars worth of property i.e., a car, and not have this blow up in your face amidst ongoing volatile custody disputes.

@@umbranassassin8372 The guy was 18, I agree that relying on child support for the mortgage was stupid from the get go, it was evident that it was always temporary, the mom is not entitled to that money, and she should not have a mortgage she can't afford without child support. Honestly, it's the same of situation where everybody sucks: - The mom: she went overboard with the punishment, I do agree the kid deserved to be punished severely, but she went too far and obviously the guy was going to flip, especially if he had a way out. Taking the car and giving it to the SISTER? Why? Obviously it was going to cause problems, she could have withheld it for a few months , but no, she gave it to the half sister, honestly, it sounds that it might be a pattern. Locking him up for a month? That's extreme. - The Dad: he is trying to help his son, but rewarding him and not punishing him for a cruel prank is not it. - The son, it seems to be some underlying favouritism going on, if the son flipped and acts out so much, but honestly, the prank was just cruel, even if he was pressured. Taking the money, grounding and forcing an apology are punishments that fit the bill but canceling his bday and giving away the car meant for him to his step sis are bridges too far. Dan flew her out to NY and booked a hotel (shes an adult, she can book her own hotel if she didnt like the place he picked) and laid out cards for her to pick from should she want to have communication and a relationship with her son. She shouldn't have given away the car which should have been a slam dunk to end the stalemate. Morally it wouldnt go against the lesson as he didnt gain anything from his prank and she can have a relationship with her kid again. Before they were officially separated he emptied out my college fund and there was nothing anybody could do about it as it was perfectly legal. He died when i was 17 I'm in college now and resent him because of him i couldn't afford to do my first career path as I didn't want extreme loans. I'm happy on the path i chose and am learning (cosmetology) but am pissed that if it wasn't for him i would have no loans. That college fund story is insane. Addiction really ruins lives. Personally, I never had a college fund. I was the eldest of a single mother home, in a lower socio-economic Latinx familia. As soon as I turned 18 was expected to work and begin paying rent along with my personal expenses (I saved for my first car, medical visits, etc) I tried going to college but couldn't manage it all. After taking care of my mental health (PTSD diagnosis) I've finally gone back this year at age 27 and hope to get into the nursing program. I don't have a college saving per se for my toddlers, but I have started a savings for them. I'm pretty open minded if they want to use it for college, a first car, starting a small business, or technical school. I just want to have something to help them have a head start in life.

I wonder what was straining Cassie’s relationship with her mom. She sees her stepdad paying for everything and being so unbelievably generous on top of taking on role of Dad. She must have seen her mom spending so much money. The mom probably told Cassie to keep the purchases a secret. (My mom did that a lot, and I knew better than to tell because my mom was physically abusive and would have slapped the shit out of me.) Selfish people are often selfish in many different areas, including towards their kids. I’m so glad that Cassie is being taken care of because she obviously loves her dad just as much as he loves her. My dad was also incredibly generous and successful, and we had a close relationship because I appreciated everything he did for me. I worked for him and refused any payment because he was paying for college and everything for me. I wanted to show him I appreciated his hard work. Also I wanted to hang out with him. I learned so much from him, My mom and brother didn’t put in much effort and didn’t really appreciate my dad-they even sued my stepmom over my dad’s estate 10 years after my parents divorced.) I definitely think the Machiavelli ex husband manipulated his son. The son definitely needed to be punished for his stunt. The mom left out that her ex had funded the car. It wasn’t hers to give away. She didn’t tell her lawyer everything about what happened because they would have told her to immediately give it back. She was also foolish to meet her lawyer ex without legal counsel. The ex might be right about her to some extent. What her son did was horrendous, but she didn’t handle it well. Screaming doesn’t help nor does total lockdown. Especially when your ex is a lawyer who has been wanting custody. She should have gotten her son in therapy to deal with what he did and any other problems. It’s tough having your parents divorce (even when you’re an adult, and acrimonious divorces cause more trauma). Verbal abuse and grounding only builds resentment and pushes the kid towards the other parent. She should have also sold her house right after the divorce and bought one she and her new husband could pay for. She wouldn’t be getting child support forever, so she was going to get behind on the mortgage at some point. Usually alimony ends when the spouse remarries. Everyone sucks here. The mom wasn’t as interested in making sure her son understood why what he did was so horrible. She just wanted to stick to the punishment even though it wasn’t helpful and was sending her son right back to his father. She could have tried contacting her ex and talking to him about what happened and come up with a game plan that would actually teach their son to be a better person. The son was old enough to decide who to live with. She legally couldn’t give away his car. I do question some of her motives because she was headed towards financial trouble since her son was close to 18. She sounds reactive and stubborn to the point of hurting her relationships. Hopefully she learns her lesson and opens communication with her son. He’s going to need support once the father’s love bombing stops. Also married at 18?

@@kat.catherine5163child support would cease if he got married regardless of him being under 21. Plus it only goes to 21 of the kid is in college and it's stipulated in the child support order. My 16 yo will be going to college and I'll have to return to court/contact the support collection enforcement unit when my kid turns 18 (the spring of his senior year) to keep it going during senior year after 18yo and also to set it up for continuance once he's in college. I'm in NY and that's what I've been advised to do. Maybe they had a specific order that laid all of that out for 18-21 for higher education or a different agreement. Regardless, the order usually needs to be revised if the custodial parent changes, because they need to reassess the income and percentages for the child support order. So I find it super weird OP just had to start paying him what he was originally paying her for CS. Either this is fake, lawyer dad is taking advantage of OPs inability to understand the applicable laws in NY, or the original lawyers put some shitty clauses in the original order (which again can always be revised).

At best to you or another family member; at worst with a stranger instead that ends up with them in jail (or worse). Respect and boundaries exist in every type of relationship. Thanks! FATE intervened in this woman's life and Step-bro was meant to be there to save her life. Their lives, ultimately, are full of purpose and the most important thing is that they acknowledge the weirdness of it all but try to focus on what their mission here in life is. It could turn out to be, in the end, a closely-guarded, family, inside joke of sorts. We're not talking about the book, "Flowers in the Attic" here. 2)Mom is the one who needs to start (post haste) acknowledging her issues and get a job for the sole purpose of paying back into that fund immediately and until further notice. The other solutions offered by hubz for her to get therapy are also entirely appropriate. No, he shouldn't cover for her. The devotion the mom has to becoming a better person, once and for all, and to begin accepting responsibility might just be what ultimately corrects her relationship with her daughter. There's value in that. Next stop for dad, => financial planner AND a lawyer. Hubby is TOTALLY an angel and STRONGER for finally having been taught not just his financial value to the family as a provider but his own value as a person and that he AND his daughter deserve better.

It were 2 accounts around 20k each 1 for me one for my brother. My parents got split when i was 18. My dad cut ties with us after. He refused to go to his own mothers funeral because we were there kinda bad but that is a whole other story. Because i was looking at homes 2 years ago (I am 24 rn going on 25) we reached out to see if we could make the funds available. Turns out he used up all the money.

My husband spent 1,300 on mine. I bought one from a divorced woman who got remarried and got the “upgrade” ring haha. The msrp was around 4,000. So I would say it was a good deal overall and when I saw the ring, I knew that was the one. It was the perfect size and I love the shape. Very happy and I’m glad I didn’t break the bank. Paid in cash that day.

As someone who worked in nursing for a while, if I'd received the sperm sample because I hadn't clarified it was a urine test, I would've said something along the lines of "Just to double check, are you hear for a sperm count and motility check, or sexual health screening?" Then apologised that it was my mistake, and that I should've asked for a urine sample because that's all you need for the screening, hand him a new pot for a urine sample, and ask if he minded if I disposed of the other sample. Deep down, he'd know that I knew, but having that little bit of deniability can make the world of difference for someone's self esteem. It goes from "I did the most embarrassing thing!" into "Did I ever tell you about the time a nurse accidentally asked me for a sperm sample?"

I went to college at a later age in life and because I am an awful student I had to take some classes multiple times so needless to say my college debt is rather large. That being said, I am going to be paying this off until I die, I have accepted my faith and am ok with it. Therefore, when my son goes off to college, I am just going to take on that debt so he doesn't have to worry about it 🤷‍♀

If I were Cassie I’d disown my mom lmao. If they told me that mom wanted dad to lie about it. If I wouldn’t know everything, just about her spending the money I’d probably be sad at first, but then I’d probably worry about mom? Shopping addiction can be a mess. I’ve one myself, but I just took loans to fund it. Now I got better job that lets me buy a little something every month and pay the loans. But it’s not a solution, as I sometimes still take small few months loans that I’ve to pay interest rates. Losing money while still feeding my addiction. Actually there was a moment when I had my fam involved. Monthly payments got so high that I needed my bro to take a loan for me on better terms. He had it for 3 months, luckily after that I was able to take loan on my name on even better terms and took it from him. But those 3 months were scary. It was right before I switched jobs.

The story about the cruel prank I feel like the best thing OP could do is go public air out what her son and ex are doing and how they are attacking her because she was trying to teach her son that doing something like that is cruel especially in this day and age where many youths are realizing they are autistic aswell, him pranking an autistic girl will just make him look worse

That story about the son with the prank and the divorced parents is WILD. I get whiffs of something being slightly skewed in the story but I will take it at face value for the time being. I legit do not understand how someone can be that evil. The entire story reeks of rich entitled kid and it sucks the father is encouraging it instead of actually being a father and teaching his son. That is a HUGE event that needed to be handled and taught correctly. This barely legal adult did something horrible and was punished for it. Then the father undo's all of it and rewards him for running away from his punishment. The father acted more like a rich big brother instead of a father that needed to teach their child responsibility. He may be the most petty and vindictive man on the planet. He totally had a grudge and used every dirty tactic in the book to gaslight and taunt her over some sick grudge.

Taking the story at face value, I sincerely hope op kept receipts of convos with the father and gets a sympathetic judge. Op didn't do anything wrong and is being ruined over petty bullshit

Omg these ring stories are freaking me out omg. I have a very valuable ring passed from my grandmother. The thing is huge and gawdy 8 carat omg its beautiful. When i go out i love wearing it i feel so rich lmao. Id die if someone flushed it or stole it. I now wana hide it away forever. My sister did try to steal it when my mom had it but she got it back. Then my sister stole my wedding set so my mom gave me my grandmothers ring in exchange. It is seriously my most prized possession and want to pass it to my daughter.

As to the ring-I would take two cops with me, walk right up to Jake's fiance, and tear that ring right off her finger. And if I was feeling particularly petty and nasty, I'd make sure I did it in front of a crowd of their family and friends. 🤬

My husband got away scot-free with my rings. In total they cost $100 because I don’t like to wear jewelry mainly rings and anything on my arms. and I’m rough on my hands so I wanted something that was easy to replace if needed and now I’m changing to a silicone ring because I messed up the other one 😂

That story about the jizz cup sounds suspicously close to a stand up bit by jeff foxworthy from the early 90s. Uses the same phrasing and everything, thats how I recognized it. I was obsessed with that jeff foxworthy album when I was a kid.

first story, tell the kids. for medical reasons and incase they learn about it on their own later on, the shock and betrayal would be a lot to handle. and I just finished watching another reddit story where this case happened to a kid. his mom and family new about incest in the family, but he didn't and was pissed. he had medical issues and apparently has a lot of family in the town and was scared he might have dated a relative unbenowst to him. just don't keep secrets guys.

With the wife and husband being related, is a similar thing to what happened to me, except the adoption part. Me and my ex-bf are 2nd cousins once removed (his dad and my maternal grandmother are cousins), we didn't know we were related until his dad told him. Lol

Even though I love my engagement ring, I told him that he could get me a ring from a charity shop and I’d still say yes because as long as you really love the person you’re with, materialistic things don’t matter. I will admit that I still flash the ring every chance I get 🤣🤣
