Welcome to my first project where I try to get this Fexac UP milling machine back into working condition. Only a few years of rust and dirt, how hard can it be?

Beautiful work. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand the initiating on youtube stuff, so I suggest you improve a little bit on your audio. Although it's amazing be able to hear just the sound of the tools, you left many minutes of no sound at all on you video, what i imagine is due to a poor capture of sound or too much "cleaning" on the processing afterwords. Please consider watching RRC restorations, CEE Australia and My mechanics, I know it sounds cliche, but theses guys have mastered the art of keeping their public paying attention to the screen during many hours. I wish you all the success u deserve. Keep up the good work! Cheers from Brazil!

"This was a teaching machine only really" Translated: "This machine was used for 75 years in a Trade School and was never cleaned or properly maintained" Holy Balls.... this machine had oil and chips in places I didn't even know you could get oil and chips into!

Very nice Mill. Everything about it is industrial quality. Now that everyone knows where it is, hopefully the Bundeswehr won't ask you to make missile parts with it if the Russians invade..😅

I would love to see your “sorting and storing”-process for this one. How do you bag, mark and keep everything in its place for ease of (sub)assembly?

As a student I can say with confidence that we put the machines through hell sometimes, forget to lube them and push them to see what they can do. I personally have stalled a 6kW lathe spindle multiple times. Ofc they are still fine, considering they are 40 - 50 years old and made in former czechoslovakia so they were overbuilt like heck. So ye if someone told me that the machine was used by students for all it's life .... I will expect a pretty long restoration xD

i'm often are surprised, how long a machine can take "no cleaning" or "maintainence" without to stop working. impressing, really

Looks like it's had more use than suggested. Great vid, can't imagine the number of boxes of parts you now have 😮

I can’t imagine how you’re going to put this thing back together again, it’s beyond my limit of imagination. Well done, I have confidence in your ability to do it.

The video would be a lot more enjoyable with either some background music or more commenting.

Wow! a couple of years ago i did the same, my machine was in much worse shape and seems that I have one erlier version. A part of the gear box was missing, so the Y-axis powefeed was not working. Luckily I was able to order the missing parts in spain. The next step I want do is to install a DRO. Are you from Germany?
