So, his scissor kick is basically SFV Balrog's dash punch which was -4 but could very easily be spaced out of punish range for a lot of the cast. Oh yeah but it's even better because it's not a charge move...
I remember quitting SFV when Balrog came out. Did not want to deal with easy mode characters. It is so easy to counter hit confirm and punish counter confirm bisons scissor kick as well.
To be fair, the only difference now is his Scissor Kick isn't charged anymore.....but Bison has already had spacing with scissors for quite some time, has had scissor kicks from counter hits for some time, and to me isn't the cheapest thing ever. Genuinely Bison has better normals on block in previous versions of the game (SF4AE). His Scissor Kick (L) version was also -1 on block in that version too. His SF 5 version had worse scissor kicks compared to 4's too, and that required more spacing just like this versions does. You were only positive on EX Scissors there. Not to mention 5's version had good normals too along with moves like Psycho Blast that could position you that much better with it's small push. This game you can punish all versions of Scissor with CLp if he doesn't space correctly, idk wtf anyone is really complaining about. If it's damage I can't really see that either, the whole cast can do damage with these new mechanics. This is just me coming from SF4AE mostly though. Played quite a lot of Bison in that version and just a bit in 5 but never owned the system to play 5 on. Imo He is awesome currently especially the Scissor change, and the new mechanics allowing more free movement. I wouldn't say broken or OP though.
Yeah it's almost as if they gave Bison all the top tier tools: fast DR. Low forward DRC. Two plus on block moves. It's not like Capcom made sure to buff the season 1 DLC characters to viability while Honda, Manon, Lily, Jamie ate shit.
@@trippersigs2248 Because she already struggles to do damage and is widely considered the one of the worst, if not the worst characters in the game at this point (In no part due to her receiving largely meaningless buffs in S2). Truth hurts 😕
He's pretty cool. Happy he's back in the roster, and I'm glad he's got all this aggressive gameplay but very few if any reliable reversal tools. Each DLC character has a "thing" and his is aggression and damage but when you push back he's done for.
Bison's cheap? Bro are you guys deaf, he literally coaches the opponent "No escape" "Prepare" "Its over" He literally couldn't make it any easier for you to know what comes next 😂
I always mained Bison so i was pretty sad that he wasn’t base roster, but now i’m happy he’s dlc lol. Obviously they don’t want these characters to be weak because they need to sell, but i also think that it helps that they are only making 4 a year, so they can go ham with designing them. Some characters from the base roster screams “i wasn’t high priority during development”
Biggest issue with SF6's roster right here. Half the base roster feels underbaked vs. this DLC. Biggest disappointment with the big patch is that no one really got a meaningful rework.
Diaphone you're my fav SF content creator but these titles are sooo clickbaity. Of course a professional can take any character to master, that doesn't prove anything. I think more interesting would be for you to teach someone who's low-med skill level and see if they can make it to master with the "cheap" toolkit you give them
me to my friend who instantly switched mains: " I think this is the 1st character in this game that is objectively OP" him crushing me 40 times in a custom room: " wym?"
Akuma and MBison really need to be toned down, (arguably Rashid and Ken too), but man these 2 are just laughing in the face of balance right now. Honestly the least happy I've been with SF6 since launch to the point I might just have to take a break until the game gets toned down, or leave if it doesn't
This really just sounds like a get guud post. Dreamhack had 8 different characters in the top 8, this is probably the most balanced the game has ever been
I'm also thinking about taking a break until they address this balancing fuckery. I'm a Guile main, and I've never been made to look so sorry. Aside from how I despise what they did to the character since the Beta changes prior to release and now season 2, I could somewhat manage. Against the likes of Akuma at least I was able to get some reasonable win some lose some toss ups. This shit head here is another dimention of trollish shenanigans.
Forgive me if im being rude but i am a long time tekken player who has been in and out of street fighter ever since 4 and finally beginning to get serious about learning with sf5, now with 6 i am really liking it and my main was jp since urien isnt in the game, but now bison is out im REALLY enjoying him..but with these comments about pay to win, scrubby character ect it makes me feel like a piece of shit 😢
Who cares, people will make excuses for why they lose even if it’s a top level player. Take NoahtheProdigy, obviously he’s OD but just cause he plays Luke keyboard warriors try to downplay him as he’s qualifying for Esports World Cup.
If they won't give Bison a horse based special move or super, then they should at the very least add his horse to the bull knockdown minigame as an alternative to the bull.
This village people reject has always been a cheap bastid. Back in SF2 days he had the best TOD combos. Specially in ST. To beat bison you can't let him get started. Just like Akuma.
When you mentioned Aki having the most recovery in the game on her fireball, I was skeptical because I had not touched aki at all, just my experiences playing against her as JP (50f for JP instead of 52 for Aki). Something felt wrong about that statement because of the amount of times I've been punished by aki for trying to counter her fireball with level 3, so I picked her up and I didn't know that aki gets to special cancel her fireball after 17f. So technically you do have the option to OD slither (236KK) under the psycho crusher as a counter-reaction if youre not like literally right in front of him. Still tho Bison is clearly ridiculous, and as a JP player, I'm not exactly excited to deal with it either...
This character is so obviously overturned its hilarious, akuma at least had some element of risk due to his clown hp, capcom has to sell the dlc character Even diaphone who is a huge fence sitter and plays it safe with this takes wants to say he is pay to win
Haven't finished yet, but Bison infuriates me on a such a large and extremely specific scale I genuinely want to make each bison player bit a curb Gears style (I gotta leave Cammy and Guile out otherwise I'll be here all day) Bison ALONE is straight off the rip given absurd Guest character privilege with a move set that barely has anything less than -4 on block, AUTO SPACING ON HALF THE FUCKING MOVES, 8k easy optimal damage combo that spits in the face of Manon and Marisa specifically, crazy normals with a block string that makes Ryu's hashogeki chain look like a joke, and I'm just not even going to try to mention the absolute bullshit that is his air special with how it can auto cross-up... yes he doesn't have wake up reversal, nor a command grab or a fireball, but he clearly doesn't need that for anyone with minimal hands to be outperforming damn near everyone within the first month he was released Fuck Bison, fuck Dee Jay, and fuck Guile (I purely used this as a ranting space because I am mad and just want to blow off steam, I respect all the players, but not the characters so I gotta learn that mf'n matchup QUICK)
The thing that surprised me the most was that Diamond 4 modern Ken..How is that guy Diamond 4?! Really, i am nobody here because i am Gold 3 but i feel like i could be that guy no problem...
Bison should be op in his prime one could fuck with him and as a middle age'd dictator it took a prime guile, ryu and ken to take him down only for him to return
I wish to see bison in competitive level. In most games he's average, except for that version of street fighter 2, where psycho crusher is a cheap move. Alpha 3 forward he has always been just ok. Maybe if weren't for street fighter V, where he's more powerfull.
@@arpadszabo661 its still predatory micro transactions, why not let you buy a character in the steam store for 7 bucks then? They know what they are doing, dont try justifying it by trying to be a smartass and sarcastic you sheep
@@arpadszabo661 Sheep spotted, doesnt make it non predatory, no matter how sarcastic and smartass you try and sound 🤦♂️ why didnt they just release it for 7 bucks on the store then? Why did they did the exact same thing with costumes? You allways have to buy more coins than the ones you need, guys like you that support these predatory practices are whats wrong in modern gaming
Bad defense options. Easy to zone out. Bison has always been a character who pressures you. Bison has a very hard time getting his turn but once he has it it's easy to keep.
@@thefatcat7938 he has a level 1 reversal. Coupled with the wakeup drive reversal his defense options aren't that bad, he just doesn't have a DP. On top of that, block into jab x stomp is a free way to get out of the corner if the opponent isn't absolutely on their toes. He is not easy to zone out lol he has psycho crusher, ex psycho crusher, and stomp. AND lvl 2. He does not have a hard time getting his turn when ex psycho crusher is safe with little recovery, regular psycho goes through 1 hit fireballs, devil's rise options are varied and safe, save for air-to-air options and DPs. He's a monster. I only addressed what you brought up, but on top of that he has crazy damage and some of the best set-play in the game.
M. Bison / Akuma are pay to win because you have to pay just to lab against them. For things like the scissor kicks you *have* to lab to be able to handle them and that means you have to pay for the DLC even if you don't really want to play as Bison.
i lowk just tilted like 50 games in ranked due to bison. also when I check profiles their bisons are 70% win rates and every other character theyve played is below 30. this character is broken
Hikaru vs #3 Bison demonstrated how difficult playing against that character is. Yet at the same time that match showed how to control him and keep him in check. I want to see how the character will change in time.
damn the smaller package is 250 coins, not enough to buy a character, got to get the 600 package, and its 15$ here in canada. I had a few rentals so i was able to try him out, i breezed through his combo trials, bison is pretty damn legit, his combos were pretty easy to do too.. i think he's as OP as guile. Probably even more OP.. Akuma and Bison are super strong right now.
I think generally if you are a solid player with good foundational knowledge of fighting games, you’re gonna be in the best position to take any new character to Master rank on launch simply due to the fact that the majority of your opponents you’ll face to get there are Diamond players - these are for the most part, non-tournament players and still pretty casual and won’t bother to learn the frame data or the character matchup during the first few weeks. This creates tons of wins off fake pressure or gimmicks that one wouldn’t get away with later on in the character’s lifecycle. TL;DR, I don’t think any character is P2W. It’s still ultimately player skill and taking advantage of an undeveloped meta during the critical period of a character’s launch.
@@Shakenbake-in9ux the difference though is you can’t derank from master once you hit it (which is why trying to climb early when a character is new is beneficial) but Legend you have to maintain through wins. Even if by some chance scissor kick spam could get you to legend, it won’t keep you there in the long run.
@@FlyingKing8 well firstly, that’s Kakeru. So few people perform at that level. Second, like I said, that’s working now considering how new Bison is in the meta. Doubtful anyone, even Kakeru, will maintain legend ranking by simply spamming scissor kicks. If it were that simple, reply to this message after Kakeru wins evo finals next year only spamming scissor kicks.
Ryu has basically nothing to respond with to scissor kick. Our jab is too short to hit you most of the time, we're too far away to grab, and anything else is too slow. The only relatively consistent way I've been able to do is OD shoryu. So for ryu, he can't take his turn because there is no turn to take lol
I've been finding success in just putting extreme pressure on Bison for the whole match because he doesn't really have any reversal options outside of level 3
Take a shot every time that player using Chun-Li in the first match used wake-up EX Tensho and then you'll have as much brain damage as me after watching those games.
Im sure if they make scissor kick a charge move itll balance the character a bit (dmg and corner carry are a whole other issue). Not sure why capcom is obsessed with oversimplifying characters just to make an "easy to get into" game
People say that he does good damage but depends on his drive meter too much. It’s actually not really true, what’s is great is that it’s always an option not required. The guy can literally throw out 3 EX moves and a level 3 in a combo. You don’t have to, but it’s great that you can decide to whenever you land a combo.
I’m surprised about scissor kicks, since it seems like most of the other moves they changed to have easier inputs (like Honda Hands) were changed pretty much how you’d think they would be.
I'm finding it really interesting how resource heavy he is but just how big the payoff can be. Not the best defense, but for a setup pressure character, it's pretty wild how well it all works.
Normally, we have separate audio tracks for game audio, mic and desktop audio, but Dia's power went out and the recording was lost. So had to use the twitch vod for the first couple of matches so we couldn't really do anything about it, sorry!
