"Nobody can play GP to full potential" is a weirdly comforting phrase in the context of this video. After so many games trying to master the champion and thinking he might be too distant from his goal, Petu learns that no one else has truely mastered GP. The "mastering GP challenge" might have been impossible from the very beginning, but it makes all those insanely good GP players a little more relatable and "reachable", in a "I can't master the champion, but I can still play like them" kind of way. Petu then continues to learn the nuances of GP and, at the end, gets a sick quadra and M7. Far from being a perfect GP player, as that'd be impossible, but satisfied with his own performance, as he should be.

This kind of "hero's journey" narratives are always a blast to watch. Reminds me of ymfah's challenge videos, where every lows and highs are highlighted. If you can maintain this quality for other champions you want to try, it would be a crime if the effort goes unnoticed.

This video felt very... mature? Especially for a League video. The thoughtfulness behind your work, the choices in editing (shout outs to PreComp Studio), and the quality of the interview help convey the sincere efforts to produce nothing but high quality content. This could have been such an easy meme video, but you really subverted the expectations other content creators have trained me to have and left me pleasantly surprised. Not because I believed this video would be of lower quality than your Shen-focused work, but because you have an uncanny ability to make each video feel like an "xPetu" creation.

That was beautiful. It's not often you see such rewarding League content.

Solarbacca and Xpetu is the matchup I would love to see.

I'm one of few people who call themselves an Azir main. It's hard to deny that the learning curve for him is pretty big, and I would love to see how you get over that. Azir top has been good for a while, you should definitely try him out.

These champion learning series are my favourite on your channel to watch , especially having played some of them it's awesome seeing someone fresh go in depth like you on all of a champs mechanics and breaking down what separates the good from the best. Not a toplaner, but the way you play shen made we view the map entirely differently... what could you do with meeps...

Yoric is not hard to play, but is hard to master because it changes your macro perspective like a shen does, but in a very different way I would love to see his hidden mechanics explained in a video like this

Hey Petu. I started playing akshan when you did the 7 day akshan challenge, I only played shen back then. I ended last season as top 5 brazillian akshan. Its nice when you see a player you like having fun with other champions, makes you wanna play them as well. Glad to see the series is coming back!

You have demonstrated the precision and finesse of gangplank, but do you have the courage and brute strength to master "Mantheon" Pantheon? Mechanically simpler than gangplank, but still interesting enough with his passive stacks, I see you enjoying his uniquely similar playstyle to shen. Go back to the glory days of bullying your opponents early, but with slightly better q wave clear, and join your team from afar at level 6, but this time to take the kills for your own. Whether you ever see this comment remains to be seen, but if you see it and accept, I hope you embrace what it means to be a spartan.

Unironically I would like to see you continuing this series with every single top laner. Doesn't have to be right up to mastery 7 or even a full week, but I love to hear what you learn from playing a champion for this long and how it gives you a wider perspective of top lane as a whole. Perhaps other lanes/roles too if that's up your alley?

Honestly Petu... I don't think you can master Rengar. When you can drop consistent high kill low death games on Rengar I will believe you can truly master any champion in this game. I would like to see you learn him in the jungle for extra challenge. Doubt you will see this or acknowledge it but if you do truly master Rengar, you will give me hope to pick up my old one-trick and try once more to master him to the level of Scrubnoob or Pusipuu.

Huh... do Zilean tripple bomb combo :D then we're talking. And I mean- make it useful in a game, since it's very easy to use on a static target. But in a fight it can be a total gamechanger.

--Solarbacca: "So many different ways you can play GP and execute it" Reality: Stand 1000 units away, farm minions and champions with Qs and Barrels, win. --There is no untapped potential to GP. You need to play enough to get used to barrel timings, learn long range barrels, and to reset passive. It is a champion with needlessly difficult execution, but a very simple play pattern. He snipes at long range and tries to blow you up first if you get in range of him. That's it. --If I sound upset, it is because I am very tired of the glorification of needlessly difficult to execute champions. Simpler champion kits force players to actually play League of Legends well, instead of draining focus elsewhere in a misleading fashion. Not to be misunderstood, I am not arguing that we should all play League as minions, but there's plenty of simple champion designs which have incredible depth to playing them. So hard to come up with an example... oh, which champion could I be talking about? Ah yes, I think there's this ninja champion that kinda looks like Sub Zero, maybe some of the fans of this channel heard of it.

Hey Petu, I don't know if you are gonna read this, but I think you should try mastering Yasuo, one of the most controversial champs in league of legends. The champion is weak now (2023 in octuber), specially early game, but he still is a very hard champion to master. Positioning in lane for E engage or gank avoid. Wave control with Q range and E+Q+FLASH combos under constant pressure (specially high elo). Item building since almost every game you need to adapt something, even the mythical items and so on... I used to play him a lot and I was one of the top 10 world Yasuo masteries when the masteries came in and I kept that way for 1-2 years. In the end its a champion with many flaws and strenghts, for me the one that gave me the most fun and joy to play. Hope you see my comment one day and think about the proposition :) BTW... after thinking for a moment the current state of league, it would be indeed a challenge to master him (since he is much weaker than he used to be)

There is a yasou channel with crazy micro mechanics but youtube wont allow me to type the name out. its not offensive or anything, i guess you cant speak out on anything anymore. combine yasou with kys thats the channel name. he stopped playing but the micro mechanics dont change on that champion, hes def the best mechanically yasou that was playing this game. 😉

Funny thing about GangPlank is you don't even need to hit barrels to poke just about every melee champ out of lane. Literally just spam q for 15-20 minutes then when it comes to teamfights just hide in a bush with a barrel set up. I can give respect to GP players like Solar or people who can actually hit their barrels, but that champs Q is so broken in lane, just never runs out of mana.

You should try mastering Aphelios. The sheer amount of mechanics you have to remember is already difficult but using them whenever needed in game is on another level! Also Aphelios top is a thing.

but at the end, ganplank always feel the same as someone who watch it, unlike, for example Sion, that really has a LOT playstyle that you can see visually Tank. the basic Lithality and Inting then the over cheesy Support smite sion I doubt you can master Sion completely in a week so this is a CHALLENGE? maybe

I'm pretty sure Petu can master any champion. The highest skilled toplaner beyond Gp Riven and Akshan is probably Aatrox, king of spacing it's really hard to be proficient at him when he's not turbo buffed and becomes unskilled. I like playing Gp, but it's so much game knowledge and so little room for error that is a journey in itself. Setting waves on toplane learning how to two part combos consistently, immaculate positionning. But he's very fun to play.

Did you just Baldur's Gate 3 yourself in regard to your production? What a great video. Honestly, this video had a fantastic blend of storytelling via tension, drama, some comedy, and then the resolution that any good story follows. Yes, it's a League video and not an Oscar nominated film, but I couldn't find a better way to get my thoughts communicated. If you make "feature" videos similar to this in the 7 Days series (or any series/standalone uploads really) then I can see you differentiating your channel and what you offer as entertainment in this saturated market. Of course we still need the frequent xPetu uploads (that don't take as much time, money, and effort to create as this video undoubtedly took).

Jayce,. just Jayce. He needs you to excel at every single fundamental of the game to actually climb with him. Kiting, orb walking, harrassing, comboing, early aggression playstyle, wave and map control because a flashless jayce that gets ganked is a dead jayce, every time. I believe you can play every champ, but Jayce has got to be in the very top, the culmination of every baisc skill in the game put together. his basic QE alone has extremely varying levels to how it should be executed, let alone getting into actual combos. Looking forawrd to see you try it, Petu-san.
