I’m a recovering addict. Jesus’ words in Mark 14:25 always hits home for me. “Truly I tell you, I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”
I know fasting is important, but with health issues not from anything I did, it would not be safe to fast. If I would skip meals, I would pass out. I used to feel guilty, but no longer do. I know that God is all I need.
You can choose to fast from other things than food. Fasting from things that are taking up your time such as social media or TV, and using that time to read the Bible and ask for the Holy Spirit to guide you.... this is an option when fasting from food isn't an option.
SOOO good. Just finished a 39-hour fast, thanks to this message! I was blessed enough to see it LIVE! at Fresh Life! Wish I lived in MT so I could attend always 🥹❤️
Hi Levi! I normally listen or watch on Spotify. I just wanted to let you & your staff know this particular sermon is not playing through the Spotify link
It's a very sad experience when someone can talk about fasting for 56 minutes without getting beyond the surface of the topic. Slogans, quotes, trendy gestures, influence hunting. The question, the essence of meaning and mission of fasting remained open. More humility Levi, more respect for your God. Take off your boots, because the place where you stand is holy.
I don't think I will be watching anymore. I don't like his comments. Hell to pay? What is that? How he spoke about mountain biker person? I think I heard enough. Refocus on the Lord.
Just to shed some light he was talking about a road cyclist. Many road cyclists LOVE to just hammer to the point of severe pain and to compete so what he said wasn't a dig or insult to anyone who bikes. Also "hell to pay" is a saying that basically means in serious trouble if something isn't done. This is along the lines of saying that sin has massive consequences that require payment. I can understand why you felt that way upon hearing those things but in context they are fitting.
😊Sometimes when we hear words, from any clergy, that is associated with a swear word, we pause. However, the word was very much in context. Hell to pay is an apt definition. It describes what we will suffer for sinning. I’m sorry that was not understood😢. Praying 🙏 for understanding. 😊😊
